Thanks for the comparison. Not sure which is best. The IPS patch can pop out a little more (notably by changing hues from blue), but also a few environments are more dull. It tries to make materials a more realistic colour, but that's not necessarily a good thing.
Starting at 6:32 and then again at 11:12. The enhanced version really improves the details in the background. I think it's an improvement in every way but especially in regards to details becoming far more visible and popping like they should have in the first place. This trend continues throughout the entirety of the game where the enhanced versions colors allow the finer details to shine through.
@@supersexysega Some of the changes feel arbitrary, and others look a bit worse. Like at 6:10 where swapping the greys for yellows looks uglier. At 6:53 and 17:30 every colour is changed for seemingly no reason. The patch looks better, worse, and simply different depending on the room.
"enhanced colors" looks like a mixed bag for me. some changes i like, notably the ones that are just brighter hues, others i don't shame about the bright yellow door. the price you pay for being blonde i guess
unfortunately some of the "enhanced" colors are not good IMO. the purple sky, dull wall candles, the yellow fire staff, the moon background and a lot more dont look better. some stuff does look better. need to put some things back the color they were.
@@TheGaara802 you must be a god. Those last bosses one after the other and then drac... That was controller crushing frustration. Thank goodness for save states on these emulators. If I had to do that shit all over again... Ugh
8:03 The way Prototype Eric walks up the stairs has me dying.
I liked the title screen music of the prototype version. They could have included it as a High Score song.

@@Pan_Z Fair enough. That's how I feel about most of Pyron's color hacks. This and Final Fight CD I just think are far better then the originals.
Original looks better. It has colour contrast. Which is good for gameplay and UX
Prototype version, it looks as if a ghost is pulling his leg when he goes up the stairs.
It seems the stair climb animation for Bloodlines was doomed to be janky from the start.
and in all three versions i am still not sure if his hair is green, blonde or brown
I would call the enhanced version "recoloured". Not sure the changes are really enhancements
Original has better colour in locations areas.

Now eric is blonde.
i got the enhaced colors zip download, but it dosent work with my retroarch, what should i do ?
Use some IPS software, such as WinIPS, FLIPS or Lunar IPS, apply the IPS file to your ROM.
Why do people keep trying to make Genesis games better? You can’t change the past! No matter how many games programmers try to enhance!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I got bloodlines
the "enhanced" version looks worse in just about every scene
The easiest Castlevania.
If you say so.. I think Castlevania 2 was the easiest ..that or kid dracula
@@avalond1193 If you played in the 90s without a magazine, internet, no tips Castlevania 2 was the hardest lol🤣
Super Castlevania 4 is far easier
