I would also love to see a "1 voice version". Instead of rigid 8 voices, I prefer manipulating with each drum voice separately, mainly because I like when there is 1 channel for 1 sound within my DAW. The rest looks pretty damn good for what I prefer.
@@xflow-fc8eq of course I can, but its just not the same as separate instances on each track. I want flexibility and don't want extra routing and dependencies.
The best drum machine plugin in recent times. However some stuff are overlooked, like modulating other pages in the plugin like the one with reverb / delay. Would love to modualate delay time & feedback and reverb room size. Or modulating performance page (fills etc.)
Thanks for making this. I got Battalion and I'm watching everything I can find. Your walk thru was helpful, cheers! Sound engines, routing, random, sequencer, etc, is bananas.
Great video, I was just about to buy until I saw your comment at the end... so not midi drag and drop to a DAW? Does anyone know if that's been added since? Edit: and is there no saving different patterns to trigger different ones?
Seems like it could be a competitor for Wave Alchemy Triaz. I've been thinking about getting that, but I have a plug-in alliance subscription so I wanted to check this out first. Seems decent. I wish more of the presets utilized the drum samples so I could get a better idea of the sound quality. The UI looks terrible. Hopefully, that gets updated soon.
I own both Triaz and Battalion. Geist 2 is still my main axe. Mainly because I've had it so long and it's on so many tunes I've done. Presently Triaz and Battalion are competing for succesor status for me. Triaz wins on ease of use, with some pretty decent sounds and capabilties. Battalion is much deeper sound design wise, but kind of clunky. I find the interface difficult to read and a bit hard to utilise quickly.
Thanks for the good review! I really like this plugin but as you said the midi implementation is competely lacking. Second problem at least for me is the unbeliavable cpu usage. This is the most cpu-hog plugin I have experienced…just crazy and almost makes the plugin unusable:(
For how good this is, the shortcomings are just unbelievably ANNOYING. How can you pack all this into a plugin and just forget to add midi option, good laud, makes me livid. plus does it even have an option to drag and drop your own sample??? if it doesnt i'm not even going to buy this.

You can route each drum voice to its own separated channel

good to hear this. thanks!
thank you for this video. I tried to record drums that I made but couldn't. I thought I can drop the pattern into my DAW Track but didn't work.

unfiltired audio said they will but not soon
Melts your brain, don't it? Ive always wanted a drum synth that is chaos and glitch above little cute Eletro beats
You could do that with Geist 2 as well, but it's a bit more difficult. Liking Battalion as a crazy Autechre machine so far.

In the settings there are a ton of color schemes, if that helps.
@@TheREAPERBlog Yeah, I played around with that. Nice touch, but the UI still looks very outdated to me. Especially compared to Triaz 🤷🏽♂️

bruh thanks, another reason not to get this lool
Using Mac M1 and it’s working great there. One instance takes like 15% cpu
Unrelated, sort of, have you ever reviewed the blue Arp vst?
_Blue Arp and Stepic must have, nice plugs_
No midi out sucks, seems like you have to save a preset every time you write a song
Elektron might be getting nervous
good stuff.

You can drag and drop sample
Cool
