Thank you for covering these JSFX plugins from the community. Been loving them from sometime, so it's great to see them getting some love from the Reaper gurus on the internet.
for sure, I also love the lava and dusk reverb - also final boss is pretty fun. Oh and filther is pretty powerful but hard to wrap your head around at first. lots of great plugins from saike.
I am fine with reverb and delay being left out of a synth plugin. Hardware, including them makes a lot more sense, but in the box you can just add your own. The character you want will depend more on the track than the synth. Distortion is such a broad category, and different types will act differently depending on the sound material, so it helps if the designer picks something that suits the synth.
Actually there is a wrapper to bring JS into other DAWs! In fact Saike has a fork on his repository and I (literally days ago) successfully tested it and many of Saike plugins in Bitwig!
A very good video. I think a lot of users are under the impression that Reaper has almost no instruments. I really do not need these because I use other instruments (like Air and Native Instruments etc. But for some this is very valuable.
I have been using the Saike Yutani Mono Bass Synth for years now. It is quite easy to understand, and brings great results quickly. One of my favourite Software Synths, and it is not even finished yet ❤
Thanks for the info. I checked these instruments out, and they sound good, but my computer can't use them without timing errors on playback. I think my computer lacks the needed processing power to use them in real time. But I can certainly sample these synths to ease the load on my computer, or I could simply freeze the tracks for playback. Once again, thanks. It's always nice to get free instruments. 😊
Great listing of synths. Id completely missed Partials ❤ Yutani is a fantastically rich sounding synth. I just wish there was a polysynth version of it.
I was really a fan of 3xOSC , Plucked! and TS-404 back in mijn FruityLoops days. Now with Reaper I have more versatility and control in combination with my hardware. Those JS instruments brings back those sounds and memories with some extra's! :-)
mmm drumpad and drumsynth by tyler reminds me so much of the Volca Drum, I bet I could wrangle together something like the Resonater with a Delay in Reaper and get very close to the sound of the Volca Drum!
the additive and fm freebies are worthy additions! partials looks just as good as any other physical modeler to me, and protosynth had some great presets. since you didn't mention what arp you use, i'll say that RandARP is a nice, free option. all this together means people cant really say "you get nothing to make music with for your $60 license" anymore.
Do you think Reaper will soon have a "stem splitter" FX, like some other DAWs (e.g., Logic) are now integrating? I'm thinking of something like Moises.
These synths sound great, and the presets are actually usable. Wouldn't be amazing if we could scroll through the presets with a couple "arrow" buttons ?!??!? I know there's some scripts that do it, but I'm not sure why this was never implemented on the FX window
Welcome to REAPER. These don't really come installed with REAPER. You need the ReaPack extension, and install Saike's Repository. Old video explaining ReaPack here ruclips.net/video/XjoDu_32ljI/видео.html
@TheREAPERBlog Thank you for the reply, but as I am not usually into the whole synthetic "808" type of sound, prolly won't install it. I hadn't heard you play the sounds yet when I pushed the panic button. I will say that I have installed the reapack and a couple of others, including the one that lets me open cakewalk projects. Still hopelessly lost, and the cakewalk conversion thing is not going too well on top. If we all live long enough, I will either get this or at least get a tough enough computer to run a more serious project in cakewalk. As it stands, I max out cpu with all of 28 tracks frozen. Course I should mention that I have a heavy mastering track going simultaneously, and am doing the maximiser sandwich after that so...
I've never seen this, but with any additive interface where you're setting levels of the different harmonics, the interface should be logarithmic like a mixer, not linear. I don't know why this is so hard - audio mixers just work better when you have finer control over the quiet range.
@tlr1707 :O It's funny how I've made github feature requests that did a better job of respecting the effort somebody makes to write free software, but writing "criticism" here I can act like my feature requests are errors instead of design decisions. That aside, all these synths look like amazing work. I'm especially impressed with that modal/waveguide synth.
This timeline has its flaws, to be sure, but one perk is a glut of incredible free synth plugins. Teenage mid-nineties me can hardly believe he can basically have any sound he wants for free.
The JSFX plugins in Reaper are one of the most underrated features of Reaper and deserves more attention IMO.
Saike Partials and Protosynth- omg!!! There goes a weekend. I can't believe these are free.
I love reapack so much. So many times I've found just the tool I'm looking for right there.
Every drums synth (synthesis, not sample based) is VERY welcome. I was happy about Saikes drum synth.
Saike plugins are great! I MUST start using Partials - it sounds cool and has so many controls! The UIs are gorgeous!
When you find crumpled banknotes in the crack of the sofa. 😁
hahaha
Hey maybe even a little piece of green.
Dont forget Tukans. His December synth is 🔥

Thanks for covering the synths, very nice of you, if you take time to cover jsfx modulators on other episode that would be great as well!
The Reaper community is really amazing!
Saike and TILR plugins are fkn BANGERS! I use them all the time, TILR Drum synth is simple but very capable!
OMG it's amazing! thank you for this video
Saike Reflectosaurus is worth a look too! Thanks for your content

Isn't reflecto some delay/reverb? This video is about instruments.
But yeah. Filther 2 - also awesome. Filter/Distortion unit.
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, Partials is so amazing ! This is going to be all over my new songs eheh.

Had no idea we had a drum machines in Reaper! JSFX rule.
Not sure how new the rebranding is but lookin and sounding lovely!

Cool. Some of these would be fun to hook up with Bitwig’s extensive modulation system
Shhhhhhh

Yesss, I knew that there is some gems inside!
Great to see videos around our communities inventions! Great video, thanks.
Great video, great content as always! Thanks!
Amazing tutorial, thank you !
Korg Pa5X tutorial - creating new styles with cubase
wonderful. thanks so much
Love the videos on JSFX and Scripts. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this! 👍
Dont know why but Im making music with these! I love them. Thank you for a great video!

js plugs video series ? , thanks jon
That would be cool!

the arp I used here is built into my Launchkey controller.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
My First Reaper Plugins
Do you think Reaper will soon have a "stem splitter" FX, like some other DAWs (e.g., Logic) are now integrating? I'm thinking of something like Moises.
Probably Not the type of thing reaper devs would add. But someone could script a way to integrate an existing algorithm, that might be more likely
@@jrileyhill Thank you, I'll keep a lookout for any possibilities.
@@squaresunmusic Ultimate Vocal Remover 5 is free, cross platform, and run locally, if you're looking for an option for right now.
Nice! 🎉
The Saike Pitch Shifter has the lowest latency I've ever heard in one.
Great hints! Now clue why but there is so low push for JS instruments ppl is making ... they need more space.

Can't you remap the velocity curve inside Reaper before it hits a synth?
If only ppl can realize that those are the constituent of any Moog ... 🙂
most off these remind me of my DX7-2
FYI these can be used in any DAW through ReaPlugs
Add Marker Track cubase ++++ reaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
31 page of harmonics ... Sytrus even doesn't afford that. I think Skrillex would be happy if that was available in massive back in the days
Just installed reaper, cannot find dumb drums. Coming from cakewalk and helplessly lost but determined to get this.

Are you able to add your own samples to dum drums???
no but reaper already has a sampler
Do you know if there are any JSFX plugins that are sold by anyone?
I can't think of any
@TheREAPERBlog it's too bad. Could be a viable option to develop plugins for, outside the realm of VST/AU/Clap

Never though of it, was my first additive synths, make sense
Took your feedback, latest versions of the synths use exponential curve for partials editing.

@@GeorgeLocke As far as I know the "criticism" can also be valid and constructive in this case makes sense and is easy to implement, regards.
Saike Dum Drums not working on windows 11 :(
Hey, what do you mean? Do you get an error? Do they not show up? How are you installing em?
