People that are coming back to this VOD now, this was on an old console version of the game which is now patched, but it doesn't matter. We've discovered much more powerful glitches that allow us to beat the game even faster than what we use here.
Honestly, props to anyone who can speedrun Gulp. That boss was the bane of my childhood and I never really got to see the ending of Ripto's Rage as a kid because I just ragequitted on that one boss fight after an innumerable number of attempts 😂😂😂
Speedrun the original Gulp? I played this game on PSP and the game got corrupted to where every time I tried to charge, Spyro wouldn't stop running for 10-20 minutes at a time and sometimes there would be random short bursts where he'd charge then stop over and over again. It was annoying, but keep in mind I had to beat the whole game like this XD So here I am running circles around the boss arenas spending 20-30 minutes possibly even an hour (I don't remember) on each boss because I can't stop. I eventually did beat the game and got 100% with all skill points, but it took me a LONG time to do. Imagine as a 6 year old not being able to beat a game because it's too hard, then the game gets corrupted and years later you finally beat the game for the first time and then it's 1,000,000 times easier with cheat codes you looked up and infinite superflame. XD But aside from that, even with my corrupted game and all the glitches in the original Spyro 2, I still think the gameplay is way better than the remake. The game was rushed I found, it looks good but plays like it should be the original and the actual original is like the remake with the polished gameplay. It's that bad. The camera is the main issue, but there's also the faster attack speed of literally everything in the game, making all the side characters seem stupid, changing guns to slingshots, smaller hitboxes, new glitches, Gulp has aimbot with his cannons, green gems blend in with grass...it's a mess...
As a kid this game took me forever to pass ,only my older brother had the skills to pass it for me lol. Seeing this guy beat the game in 40 minutes is just crazy lol
I didn't know you had this channel until you mentioned it on the two dads podcast lol. Respect for not trying to piggyback on your main channel through the videos
In game time is shown at the end. It's so people with faster hardware don't get a better advantage despite having similar gameplay. Nowadays with PC version we use load removers. I got a time recently in a non roll in air category that is like 2 minutes faster than this in game time I'll be posting soon.
Meanwhile I recently learned about the barrel bouncing thing and I don't remember a lot about Spyro and I can't seem to find the video on it and even if it is this one IDK when the boss is
In the original, you could either use the all abilities cheat code and climb the first ladder in glimmer then use the superfly or use the double jump trick to get out of bounds at the first part of the level to skip moneybags. I could never do the double jump trick myself because my game somehow got corrupted where every time I press square Spyro will charge without stopping for 10-20 minutes. I play on PSP by the way. This made all the bosses extremely hard, so learning all the enemies' attack speeds and blind spots really helped. Getting the permanent superflame for the first time made everything easier and now I can skip almost everything. I also found a way to get out of bounds in Aquaria Towers by charging while swimming around the top section until I was outside the disk. Once I even got myself stuck inside one of the water hatches. I had to leave and restart the level to fix it.

I never finished riptos rage as a kid either 😂 I always made it to the final world but could never get the last couple orbs needed to open riptos door
So the run takes 40 mins but loading screens are half the time? 😂
I cant believe you can beat this game in under 20mins, and this was 3 years ago, when the game was already a year old. Thats awesome.

I'm so glad there's no proxy jumps, that's what prevented me from running the original spyro 2. I could never get it
The gliding into Colossus, is it quicker to do that or the water skipping with charging since you dont have swim at that point?
