- (2 Feb 1948) The recent visit of the Governor General and Lady Mountbatten to the Maharaja of Bikaner was like a State occasion. During his stay Lord Mountbatten invested the Maharaja with the Knight Grand Commander of the Star of India.

Maharajas of patiala, bikaner, nawanagar, bhopal, kapurthala were notable menials of english.

Great history of our Maharajahs as you can view that on the medallion presentation by Lord Mountbatten, the Bikaneri Maharajah doesn't lower his head for the medal being garlands or decorated.

@@rdgaikwad26 Bhaisaab Bikaner was one of the first states to aceede to Indian Union. After Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel approached state of Bikaner, Maharaja with his minister immediately agreed to merge state with India. There were no complications with Bikaner accession.

Nizam of Hyderabad was willing to sign the instrument of accession with Pakistan but he was threatened and intimidated by Lord Mount Batton so he avoided it. Keep in mind your King of J&K fled away what sort of king he was? He was not the true representative of the people of J&K. 38 % of Kashmir is already under the administrative control of Pakistan, remaining we shall get soon.
