One can easily understand the DISCONNECT between the MAHARAJA and his PRAJA as the MAHARAJA is delivering a speech in ENGLISH where most people doesn’t understand him. Coz the speech was not for his PEOPLE but for his MASTERS. THAT DEFINES OUR GLORIOUS PAST 😊😊

King or Maharaja didn't work for the welfare of the people, he only meant for the throne and fought only for the throne. If they thought about the public, then the public would not have been poor.

The address is to the British, his people know what the Maharaja has in mind based on his action. The speach got him recognition as an enlightened ruler. But all this is too much for a person of ordinary intelligence to understand.

Having originated from Bikaner, I was deeply troubled to see him addressing the locals in English. However, upon closer look, I noticed that the close-up footage of his English speech was a re-recording with a backdrop of a curtain. I feel relieved that his original speech was, in fact, delivered in Bikaner/Marwari, and a separate recording was made for the English audience in the UK.

First of all read description, these clips are used as a source to give news to the people of british empire in there country, so it is recorded separately snd cut pasted later just see the curtains behind when he is speaking in English and no audience in the scene, British Pathe have done it in several of their videos, the hindi or local language part was mostly dubbed by the British or some Indian, here Maharaja could speak English so he might have been asked to speak in English separately, the documentaries were screened in theater that time for the English audience, also when common people were attending the ceremony, there is no way he would have just spoken in English and simply went away,

For all those questioning why he spoke in English, is it possible that this footage was shot in a studio for a video that can sent to the Britishers? The Maharaja with all his nobles and advisors with a vast administration would be aware of the language of his people. And also that such videos in English were also equally important during a time when the Britisher ruled the country.
To rule, it takes special set of skills. No wonder the British royal family and other royal families all around world spanning from the West to the East (Japan), the political dynasties in every country (yes the West has some) including India’s, and the family business houses that span generations, all have had core principles, rules and regulations, and the central idea in order outlive generations for centuries.
It is easy for an ignorant observer to blame based on some situations. But then is there a better way? Even the Japanese Emperor outlived the Second World War and was able to form an alliance with the US. The Queen of England outlived many of our modern history. It is a case study for many who are curious on how to preserve, conserve and propagate your family into the future which every parent does in his/her own way, and also command and not demand respect and admiration from your subjects.
Jai Maa Bhavani, Har Har Mahadev!

People could migrate to princely states and live a much better life than in British ruled presidencies where even a zamindar couldn't be safe and secure. Presidencies were outright exploitative. Princely states would be absorbed into presidencies if they revolted against the British and people would have to bear the consequences.

Hence, to blame others is just a form of naivety and lack of proper understanding. I suggest you to question your opinions before you form any opinion.
