Britain has done her part. Before they took over, not "almost everyone was hungry in India".
The famines were created by the British during ww2. They took away the crops for their army and left the people who grew em starve to death.

What a comedy show, _"The British GAVE INDIA"..._ It sounds like how generous were these Brits. Factually, they came to loot India, and did so open-heartedly. The road, rails and irrigation etc were the tools to ease their looting, which they left behind. Irrigation was to feed the Brits NOT to feed India.
Churchill alone was responsible for Bengal famine when he diverted all the food and left 3 million dead of starvation.

The first lie is that the British rule gave India a democratic system and the second lie is that the British rule unified India.
