If you look at the day that he rested which was on the 7th. Have you noticed that all other days have mornings and nights? The seventh on the other hand did not have a morning nor night, the rest is a foreshadowing of resting in Jesus forever. An eternal rest in Christ. The word Sunday wasn’t in their vocabulary and no they didn’t “choose” Saturday - God rested on the 7th day from the beginning and so did all his creation as he was in the garden with them. After being in captivity and following pagan traditions Gods commandments were to “remind” them of who HE is and how to worship Him and how to love God and love others. God never changes which would mean he has always rested on his 7th day - still does today and always will. The 7th day is created by God and he himself rests on that day and we celebrate him as creator and as the Bible Says - we show the world Whom We worship. Saying that Christians never met on Saturday is biblically incorrect. Yes the disciples “broke bread” on the first day. But Acts mentions meeting in the synagogue on the Sabbath several times. In Acts 13 we see both Jew and GENTILE Christians meeting on the Sabbath. “But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.” Acts 13:14-15 KJV “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.” Acts 13:42 KJV “And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.” Acts 18:4 KJV If you read these three chapters you’ll see that it was Paul’s custom to preach on the Sabbath. Also, notice that in the book of Acts they call the first day “the first day” and they call the Sabbath, “The Sabbath.” It has never changed. And Lastly, ironically Acts 20:7 is referring to what we call Saturday night. Paul preached on the first day of the week, until midnight. The only time midnight and the first day intersects is if you’re referring to Saturday after sunset . In our day and age the day starts at 12:00am, but in those times the day began after sunset. Thus the first day occurred on Saturday evenings (after sunset) . Paul then preached until midnight. The breaking of the bread that you spoke of doesn’t occur on sabbath; That is correct, but it didn’t happen on Sunday as we know it either.

The Sabbath has not been fulfilled. First of all, God said it was a PERMANENT covenant that is to be observed FOREVER(Exo. 31:16). Secondly, unless the Kingdom of God has somehow arrived with Christ sitting on David's throne in Jerusalem without anybody noticing, then the Sabbath has NOT been fulfilled. Third, Paul's own words in Col. 2:16-17 says it hasn't been fulfilled, which is why he said it is a shadow of a FUTURE event.

Let the Bible interpret itself! There’s no back door into heaven. For many years I flip flopped and believed that every day was a Sabbath. However, until I heard about Sabbath being Saturday, it would seem to be from 6pm Friday to 6pm Saturday. I stand to be corrected. Anyway, my confidence used to to be in what I knew or understood, a bit like Sam, but with God’s Sabbath, it’s all about him and my only involvement, is to simply sit back, and enjoy what God has done for us in everything like creation and the victory at Calvary by Jesus Christ! A decade ago I threw out a fleece. One week I kept the Sabbath on Saturday and the next I kept it on sunday. I felt more rested when I kept it on Saturday and have consistently felt more rested on Saturday than on sunday.
I tried to keep the Sabbath on Saturday for about 8-10 months last year, and it felt good. It was hard for me because in my culture the day ends and the next starts at 0:00 and not sunset and for 30 years sunday was the last day of the week, and I have always had great difficulties with routines and habits (diagnosed with ADHD) Some weeks it went better than others, but I tried and it felt good and I felt like I received some specific spiritual blessings for keeping the Sabbath better and better each month. But 2-3 months ago multiple Christian teachers, Sam included, kind of convinced me we don't have to keep it and I stopped. Also because Sunday is way more convenient for me, I let myself be convinced easier than I should have. But the last 2 weeks I feel this very urgent and strong desire in my soul to observe the saturday Sabbath again. Can't explain it or why, I don't have the theological or Biblical knowledge and wisdom to proof anything, so perhaps this desire is planted by God?

In fact Jesus went out of His way to violate the Sabbath Laws in public, even though as a Jew He was obligated the keep them. Yet God considered Him sinless. Here’s the point…When you were saved, you became a new creation and the work of your salvation was finished forever. (2 Cor 5:17) As Hebrews 4 explains, you entered a life long Sabbath Rest at that time. Any further work to earn or maintain your salvation will bring death because it will prove that you don’t really believe that the Lord’s completed work was sufficient. So remember your Sabbath Rest and keep it Holy by doing no further work and you’ll be keeping the commandment. In Hebrews 4 we’re told that the commandment to rest on the Sabbath was intended as a model of the believer’s life long sabbath rest, where we stop working for our salvation after we’ve accepted the Lord’s gift of pardon. The Jews keep a Saturday Sabbath. The early Church began meeting on Sunday to commemorate the Lord’s resurrection. The verses above say it doesn’t matter which day you choose as long as you’re convinced it’s the right thing to do. Finally, here’s a word of warning against venturing into any sort of legalism, no matter how slight. If you’re going to keep one part of the Law, you’d better make sure you’re keeping it all, because anyone who keeps the Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. It is not legalism to follow what God has said. That is why He said it. He spoke it, He wrote it, He did it by His own example. Following God may be legalism in your eyes, but for us as children of God it is purely obedience.

The free gift of salvation is given to the church, which requires no works to receive it. When you’re in Christ, even tough your in His sabbath, you’re going to want to work, like Christ did on a sabbath.

I think Sam Shamoun was very clear, Biblically, that the Sabbath was a sign and a covenant between ethnic Israel, and that the true Sabbath is found in Yeshua, every day. Yeshua said in Matth 11, that ALL who are weary and burdened to come to Him and He will give you rest (paraphrased). The Apostle Paul in Colossians 2 and Romans 14 speaks on this very thing, that we have freedom based on our own convictions, and to not judge another in that regard. I am of the opinion that those whom cause division or strife over Sabbath keeping are legalistic, religious, not relational, and we must remember, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. To conclude, I pose the question, where in the NT does it enforce or condemn anyone that does not keep a Saturday, 7th day Sabbath? In fact, let’s keep in mind what Jesus said the two greatest commandments are, which is to love God with everything, and to love your neighbor as yourself (paraphrased). Looking at this from a vertical view (God), and a horizontal view (Man), it lines up quite well with the Ten Commandments, in terms of our relationship to God and man. Matthew 24: 20-22 Jesus himself also mentions The Sabbath in the end times right before the tribulation starts... some would argue that it was fulfilled in 70 AD but that was still after Christ's death and resurrection. So if Jesus became the Sabbath why would he still warn about The Sabbath Day after he ascended? I'm not even a 7th day adventist but i think Christians are suppsed to keep the Biblical Sabbath Day.

This hasn't happened yet, so it appears that Jesus himself says the Sabbath will be important in the end times, and during the great tribulation.

Saying that Christians never met on Saturday is biblically incorrect. Yes the disciples “broke bread” on the first day. But Acts mentions meeting in the synagogue on the Sabbath several times. In Acts 13 we see both Jew and GENTILE Christians meeting on the Sabbath.

If you read these three chapters you’ll see that it was Paul’s custom to preach on the Sabbath. Also, notice that in the book of Acts they call the first day “the first day” and they call the Sabbath, “The Sabbath.” It has never changed.
And Lastly, ironically Acts 20:7 is referring to what we call Saturday night.
Paul preached on the first day of the week, until midnight. The only time midnight and the first day intersects is if you’re referring to Saturday after sunset . In our day and age the day starts at 12:00am, but in those times the day began after sunset. Thus the first day occurred on Saturday evenings (after sunset) . Paul then preached until midnight. The breaking of the bread that you spoke of doesn’t occur on sabbath; That is correct, but it didn’t happen on Sunday as we know it either.

The Sabbath has not been fulfilled. First of all, God said it was a PERMANENT covenant that is to be observed FOREVER(Exo. 31:16). Secondly, unless the Kingdom of God has somehow arrived with Christ sitting on David's throne in Jerusalem without anybody noticing, then the Sabbath has NOT been fulfilled. Third, Paul's own words in Col. 2:16-17 says it hasn't been fulfilled, which is why he said it is a shadow of a FUTURE event.

For many years I flip flopped and believed that every day was a Sabbath. However, until I heard about Sabbath being Saturday, it would seem to be from 6pm Friday to 6pm Saturday. I stand to be corrected. Anyway, my confidence used to to be in what I knew or understood, a bit like Sam, but with God’s Sabbath, it’s all about him and my only involvement, is to simply sit back, and enjoy what God has done for us in everything like creation and the victory at Calvary by Jesus Christ! A decade ago I threw out a fleece. One week I kept the Sabbath on Saturday and the next I kept it on sunday. I felt more rested when I kept it on Saturday and have consistently felt more rested on Saturday than on sunday.
I tried to keep the Sabbath on Saturday for about 8-10 months last year, and it felt good. It was hard for me because in my culture the day ends and the next starts at 0:00 and not sunset and for 30 years sunday was the last day of the week, and I have always had great difficulties with routines and habits (diagnosed with ADHD)
Some weeks it went better than others, but I tried and it felt good and I felt like I received some specific spiritual blessings for keeping the Sabbath better and better each month. But 2-3 months ago multiple Christian teachers, Sam included, kind of convinced me we don't have to keep it and I stopped.
Also because Sunday is way more convenient for me, I let myself be convinced easier than I should have.
But the last 2 weeks I feel this very urgent and strong desire in my soul to observe the saturday Sabbath again.
Can't explain it or why, I don't have the theological or Biblical knowledge and wisdom to proof anything, so perhaps this desire is planted by God?
My friend, we don't need a fleece when the Bible is clear. We don't go sleep with other women to see which feels better, obeying the 7th commandment or not. No. Just obey and keep the 7th Day.

Now that I studied the topic in more detail, I understand that the Bible is clear on the Sabbath-but I grew up as a Sunday keeper. What I now realize is common sense about the Biblical Sabbath was not so common to me back then. I admitted to God my ignorance, asked for guidance, and threw out the fleece. I didn't know who to believe. Fortunately God had mercy and guided me to the truth.

I think Sam Shamoun was very clear, Biblically, that the Sabbath was a sign and a covenant between ethnic Israel, and that the true Sabbath is found in Yeshua, every day.
Yeshua said in Matth 11, that ALL who are weary and burdened to come to Him and He will give you rest (paraphrased).
The Apostle Paul in Colossians 2 and Romans 14 speaks on this very thing, that we have freedom based on our own convictions, and to not judge another in that regard.
I am of the opinion that those whom cause division or strife over Sabbath keeping are legalistic, religious, not relational, and we must remember, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
To conclude, I pose the question, where in the NT does it enforce or condemn anyone that does not keep a Saturday, 7th day Sabbath? In fact, let’s keep in mind what Jesus said the two greatest commandments are, which is to love God with everything, and to love your neighbor as yourself (paraphrased). Looking at this from a vertical view (God), and a horizontal view (Man), it lines up quite well with the Ten Commandments, in terms of our relationship to God and man.

Matthew 24: 20-22 Jesus himself also mentions The Sabbath in the end times right before the tribulation starts... some would argue that it was fulfilled in 70 AD but that was still after Christ's death and resurrection. So if Jesus became the Sabbath why would he still warn about The Sabbath Day after he ascended? I'm not even a 7th day adventist but i think Christians are suppsed to keep the Biblical Sabbath Day.
I think the possible counter is that that part of the prophecy was talking about 70AD. Paul is recorded to have kept over 84 Sabbaths in Acts.

You were brought up that way maybe. Thats what everyone does. Its easy. No huge sacrifice. Admitting this is a good place to start. God will work with a heart that is honest. However if you reject truth because it inconveniences you, you miss out on the blessings God intended for you. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Remember that all of God's commands are enablings. And that the Lord's will is the best place to be. There is no safety outside of the boundaries (and commands) that God has given us.
I feel u bro, I never had a job with weekends off and had been working fast food to retail for 24 yrs. I missed so many sabbath day but mirically still make it to service but it's either work early morning before service or after. Currently been getting saturday off enjoying sabbath day. God works in mysterious ways, keep it up.
Jesus cannot add New commandments to the the Law of Moses other wise he would have sinned and wouldn't be our Messiah Duet 12:32.
It is clear in John 13:34 A NEW COMMANDMENT I give you! Love one another as I have loved you. Its not talking about the 10 commandments.
He was talking about a love not limited to his family, friends, and his disciples, he taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who percecute us.
He demonstrated this for laying his life down for us. This kind of Love is self merited and not commanded in the Torah nor the 10 commandments.
This is far more important, it is the moral code that above all other commandments including 7th day sabbath keeping of old

Saturday is not the day of worship, Sunday is. We worship on Sunday because that's the day when Our Lord was resurrected and thus defeated death.
