- Abandoned Dairy Queen - Mars, PA. For a closed down business, this place doesn't necessarily look like it is. Building is in great shape, as is the outside. Wouldn't appear to need much to open as a new business.

It's about time that place finally closed. It was a very dirty inside dairy Queen. I once took a picture of a fan that was dirty sitting on a con or blowing towards the employees in the kitchen
There's another Grill & Chill on Perry Highway less than 2 miles away.
2:14 That building used to be a Spello as of the time you were recording this, although it ended up closing in 2023. A Spello took over that Double Wide Eat & Drink restaurant in 2020. That Double Wide Eat & Drink restaurant opened up in 2012.
My local Dairy Queen closed too, and it's now a Chase bank.

mine closed and its a payday loan/CBD/tanning place now and i think you can also renew your driver license there

Most DQ are restaurants, which I miss. Quite a few in upstate New York closed, repurposed or bulldozed. I have been one last year, very rural, not bad.

Sweet finds abandoned Dairy Queen place I love getting some food of restaurant I spent on One Place that's what I got from DQ.

That's right in my backyard love to see it heard rumors about it maybe becoming a Wendy's but not entirely sure the restaurant beside it was bought by a restaurant just down the road from my house called Breakneck Tavern they are turning it into a steakhouse

In December 2023 the local dairy queen right by my house was closed because of declining patronage after only nine years in operation as well as complaints regarding the increasing filthiness of the location. It was located almost adjacent to the flea market and this meant that lots of trash ended up inside the flea market’s parking lot. The building construction began in late 2011 or early 2012. Maybe another bank might replace it given that the friendlys by my house closed after almost three decades in September 2019 after Bank of America acquired the lot on which the restaurant sat on which resulted in its demolition.

The building being redone was a Double Wide Grill. It is being turned into a Steak House. The DQ has not been closed for too long. It closed once, then reopened and ended up closing again. I believe Adams Township requires that the closed DQ stay looking good due to where it is and past problems with the previous owners of that plaza. I believe the plaza was purchased by a new owner a short time ago and has fixed it all up. When the previous owners had it, the grass by 228 looked like field grass.

Lmao i live right down the road. Apparently the area is getting an emilanos reasteraunt and i think a steakhouse place in the spello abandoned building. The dairy queen is believed to be a wendys but thats a rumor.
The landlord of the complex sucks. Too expensive, that’s why no one ever last there

Good work Wallie. When you're in Erie next week, check out the closed Dairy Queen on 26th Street. I live in Maine now but I grew up in Erie and I heard it has closed. Not sure if it's something else now.

Nice, and you definitely wouldn't want to be here in South Carolina right now as it's hotter than hell, and it's literally dangerous. The heat index is about 110. As far as the car goes, a well taken care of car with a 5 speed standard transmission can run for a very long time assuming it's not raced and pushed to it's limit all the time. My car is from the 90s and in the half a million mile club and it's still going. The original clutch lasted about 400k because of how I drive it. The trick is having the engine rev matched to the gear when you let out the clutch so that there's little to no slip when releasing the clutch pedal. Slip=wear. The less the clutch has to do to get everything going the same rpm, the longer it lasts. Anyway nice video my man, and sorry for rambling, I'm a little drunk at the moment. Love ya. 🤘🤘

Wow, this DQ building puts ours in Zanesville, Ohio to shame! Ours is tiny and at least 40 years old. It's been the same my whole life. It's maybe 9ft x 15ft inside, besides the tiny kitchen. It's not a "Brazier", might have something to do with it too, though they do have food.

The rehab restaurant next to the DQ is going to be Speers a steakhouse. It used to be Spellos and something before that. The story goes that since it is a rather small community the population can’t support these places long term. It’s a shame since it is a nice area. The DQ is rumored to be turned into a Wendy’s. Also that shopping area has had landlord issues which also may have contributed to the businesses demise.
I was thinking about something. Where I live, there used to be a mall called Park Lane Mall that closed in January 2007 and got demolished later that year, and now where the Park Lane Mall used to be, there are apartments. What if after they completely demolish Century 3 Mall (or Century III Mall as it's stylized as), they build apartments in that area?

My local Dairy Queen has turned into a disaster that I hope someone else soon takes over... though if it went the route of this one, I sadly couldn't complain. It's so bad that someone took to reddit to whistle blow on the condition of the restaurant. Last time I tried visiting, stood there for a good 15 minutes (I think longer) and never was acknowledged (and I left) even though nobody was waiting at the checkout. Almost can't go a week without someone in my city complaining about it being so bad, either.

I think it’s been closed since roughly 2016ish, or it was at least temporarily closed the last I stopped there that year.

Let me say this about DQ there food is over looked a lot people dont think they can make good fast food i love there 2 for 7 buck double Burgers to me they taste better than Bk not as big but not bad at tall or there chicken strips are the best around here in ours thats there top seller in ours i love the bbq's or that ranch that they had i wish they would have kept that but it was a limited time offer i wanted them to keep that sauce it was great..but i do like there foid as well as there ice cream...

The location probably got too old to maintain so they just cut their losses. Bet it becomes either a payday loan and/or hair weaving establishment. I've seen them both in the same place so you could get your hair weaved while you got your title loan and you could also renew your license there if it isn't suspended or revoked. Nice little neighborhood operation.
Oh and they also sold CBD.

This is a weird one... Looks like they just yuppie-fied this place like all the other restaurants in the area, so it makes zero sense this closed.
