  • 3.19.22 personal best from my first-time running Thunderhill 5 Mile Double Bypass in the E46.
This was the exact time I predicted based off my sim laps. Fairly happy with the time. 2 seconds off my F80 laptime.
Ambient temps were 116* by the end of the day. Outrageous heat.
Should be able to shave a second or two during a cooler month.
Was running my backup Apex EC7 with a brand-new set of V730s on them.
First event with a DO88 Radiator. It did better than the OEM but still wasn't enough for the extreme heat.
Was able to stretch out the session but still had to do some cooldown laps. Would have been perfect in ~90* weather.
Was living right at the edge of the red dot on coolant gauge. Dropped back to center after 3 corners at slower pace.
I probably had unreal expectations for it to be perfect in this kinda extreme weather.
Oil temps actually stayed within range. Was debating the DO88 oil cooler too. Kinda happy I didn't get it for now.
My yearly goals of a SoCal trip, 5-mile, and a dry laguna day are nearly complete.
Will be at laguna July 26th to try and push for a 1.40 with the E46.
After that I will be dormant until mid-September or so. No more high heat days for me.
