Some info about this awesome M3. Built by the legendary PTG BMW racing team it was first raced at the 2001 Daytona 24 and instantly proved to be very fast, Running 3rd overall (First in the GT class) when it retired with an oil leak with 7 hours left in the race. Just like its ALMS brother the legality of the car was questioned but unlike the ALMS the rules allowed the car to be able to race which it did until 2003, scoring 3 wins in 2001 and a single win in 2002.

@MachtNixPasstSo That is not even remotely correct lmfao. You just gonna overlook how legendary this car was during it's time? It destroyed porsche at their own game many many times. That's like saying Eminem did nothing for the rap game.
The minimal throttle input and loss of traction when initially exiting pit-lane says it all = BEAST! The gear ratios are close together. Seems to run out of breath too quickly in the higher gears, like @ 8:13 when the GT3RS pulls away from it down the straight. Edit : Poor dude 2 cars ahead immediately spun out on the green flag’s release lol.
For people who dont know, a m3 gtr is defined by the chassis not the engine or bodykits, there are non widebody m3 gtr race car, and inline 6 m3 gtr which all are legit
I like seeing the things you don't normally see being a spectator, like at 2:05 that even on the formation lap the car is willing to break free on you, then again at 2:32 where the Aston Martin wipes themselves out.
