What's more amazing is that it's the actual 2001 ALMS M3 GTR, that won the championship. Not a replica but an actual P60 M3 GTR. BMW however said that they will have it in this livery for a limited time before switching back to the #42 Schnitzer Motorsport livery. Outside of NFS, this was really a time in motorsports where cars were being a little too advanced, Sequential transmissions, active suspension, very high revving naturally aspirated engines. Carbon Fiber and carbon ceramic parts for weight reduction, f1 style power steering and etc. The Pototype GT era was truly something to behold.

The man who single handedly brought the M3 GTR replica era to life hahaha, damn this have been some years. I still remember how I predicted in your live stream, that you'd put an LS1 inside the M3😂 kinda sad reading, that you're not able to fly to Munich, since (as I stated above) you're probably the reason this happened at all :/
That's pretty much impossible to beat without re building the actual GTR Race Car, which will be difficult without connections to BMW. JP Performance could possibly do it, they already did the Gran Tourismo Beetle Gr.3
In the M3 GTR centered server I'm in we all freaked out when this dropped. Some people were slightly mad because they thought that they stripped the car of the #42 livery to paint it MW style, but thankfully it's just a wrap, so that legendary car's legacy isn't ruined. Although I must wonder, this is the largest drop of M3 GTR content we've had in essentially 20 years, and with how protective BMW is of this car, you can't help but wonder what kind of strings EA/NFS pulled to have them wrap an actual M3 GTR for the series' 30th anniversary. However I must say a part of me is sad that it'll be reverted back to the #42 livery come late January. I just wished BMW did more with this car. Brought it to more special races, displayed it around more often, or talked about it more often. All in all, I'm glad that BMW seems to acknowledge that the M3 GTR is legendary both on tarmac but on the virtual streets as well, and is loved by millions of people.
As far as I can tell from the articles written about it, BMW did this simply because even they acknowledge that the game did more to popularise this car than anything else (like 75% of all Google search results about the M3 GTR bring up Need for Speed Most Wanted, that game is synonymous with the car now). BMW did this as a simple thank you to the fans. And let's face it, that car has been doing nothing but sit in storage for years. This is the 2nd best thing to happen to it (apart from winning the 2001 ALMS championship, that is). I just wish they could take this to Goodwood with an interior camera to record the transmission whine as it gets driven.
Another good thing is Derek Hamilton (Razor) will be there at the museum next weekend Friday & Saturday, it's just mind blowing to see it become more real to see

Seeing this is so cool, especially since I don't think any of us thought we would ever see this wrap on an actual M3 GTR. Sure the "replica" builds are a lot of fun, but you just can't recreate the authenticity with a regular M3 (wheel base too short, road use prohibits the car being low enough etc.). Even with the custom body kits, wheels, spoilers to mimic what's found on the GTR, you can tell almost immediately that it's not the real deal. To my knowledge, this is the first and only true Most Wanted BMW M3 GTR replica. Big thanks to BMW for finally truly bringing this car to life 19 years after the game's release. I’d have chills doing a walk around on that unicorn. The only real deal car that made a lot of us bmw guys. It did for me. I’ve had two bmws bcuz of this car and current have one as well lol
I have recorded the moment I was approaching the car, if the camera were on me, you would have literally seen tears in my eyes. Seeing the M3 GTR is itself a big deal, and that too with the MW livery is just icing on the cake.
If you want to do it with the accurate engine sound and have deep pockets the options are the Judd 4 Liter V8 (maintenance go krazy), A destroked 4.2L F136F into a 4.0L V8 with forged internals and a reworked intake velocity stacks with the central plenum, the Pulsar V8 by Hartley, a Cosworth 90° 4L V8 and or a deeper pocket and more complex one to engineer around, an NA converted F154 4L out of a 488 pista
They should make a production street model while looking exactly the same outside but having all the new techs and comforts of an street car. It would be an banger.
This is my ultimate dream machine and a car that's incredibly close to my heart. ❤ That’s why I started my e46sim project right in my room-to bring this legend to life in the most personal way

I could stand at that exhibit for _hours,_ just looking at, perhaps, _the_ most iconic pop culture car, *_ever._* Certainly of my generation. Seeing as this is a limited time thing, it would be astronomically based if BMW had a run of posters made featuring this beauty. That would be on my wall, post-haste.
Is kinda funny and hilarious seeing people still called this isn’t real M3 GTR E46, like what in the hell you guys thinking? BMW and Electronic Art are collaborated for anniversary of NFS, They create replica decals from NFS MW 05 and put in REAL BMW M3 GTR E46 with Number 42. Then you guys still not believe this is real M3 GTR E46?
That Sugar Plum(BMW M3 GTR) will give me luck tonight. And she will be my Sweet heart. Hats off to BMW on Summoning the iconic Most Wanted cover car in real world.
Wish they made the next NFS with physics like nfs the run. online races in that game were so intense and fun, newer NFS games feel like you're driving on rails and drifting feels/is so forced.
in germany you can buy an original m3 gtr, it is very expensive. but remind you this car is not build too be driven on streets, the engine is not made too hold a long time. the whole car is not build too be driven on the streets for a long time, it is just an race car made street legal. so oil leaks and so on everywhere on that car.
9:45 Easier to secure and line up. When you shut a hood it moves in an arc, Trying to line up solid body work to meet in the middle and seal, is nearly impossible. But for it to meet at the very end of the stroke, where the hood rests, and be mounted in the bumper /chassis area, That is much easier to design, and is far more functional, than one that is split and meets mid way. One time BMW uses Simplicity in design. Function over Form.
If you look at some of the Rally car designs, Specifically the ford focus and fiestas, the way ford went through many different iterations of the hood vent / fender vender design shows what im talking about. Eventually they ended up with a design similar to this with holes in the hood and ducting mounted to the chassis.
Honestly, even if it's just a temporary livery, the most incredible thing to me is a brand acknowledging the fame around the car. Usually you hear about how car brands are reluctant to license their cars to a game that has cop car chases and illegal street racing.
what i would love to see, is if they properly recorded this car. both sound and video. as a memorial to us nfs fans and for Criterion to finally use the REAL RAW sound of this gem.
The only detail I noticed about the real car vs the in-game car, is that the real car has reflector headlights for both low beam and high beam, while the in-game car has hybrid headlights, projectors for low beam and reflectors for high beam. I personally like the headlights of the in-game car, but the real thing isn't that bad because of one small difference
This is insane! Love it! I don't think BMW would allow this, but imagine Dean McKenzie flying out to key it. I am really hoping EA gets to use this as a model car for the next NFS.
This is my first time watching this video soon as i heard your building the M3 GTR i subscribed I remember playing nfs mw on my ps2 at the time i couldn't even speak or understand English My disck was bugged and couldn't finish my game because it was not the original so a shop owner suggested that to get the original game you have to order it from USA i said I'll pay np It cost me about 106 us dollars which costs nearly a brand new ps2 in my country in that time but i bought the game without any hesitation Hopefully one day will get my hands on BMW M3 if im luck enough
This is actual art. I never thought BMW would touch any chassis especially the schnitzer one and do something like this. I always kinda assumed if anyone from BMW that heard about Most Wanted kinda rolled their eyes at the entire thing and never took it seriously, but man was I wrong. The guy odonata cinema featured alongside BlackPanthaa were going to have some top replicas, but BMW took their spotlight away with the real thing.
I wish Midnight club series comeback and continue this series like NFS series Also tge E46 M3 GTR was my favourite BMW race car including the E30 M3 DTM.
@TheRacingJoker after this I can now rest it's now 01:46 (at my location) the amount of history this car has is bigger than my understanding. I'll take the M3 GT-R than ANY OTHER CAR on earth whether the Agera or Jesko , Nismo Z tune, or even the F1 LM. I❤️the M3 GT-R the most
I hope they make a model of it like this, as it looks nice, like its a really nice deep dark blue, the silver and white pop properly, like it genuinely looks good, also wait what do you bet, that car, the reason why they chose it, is because that's what the sound guys copied for the game so you got this weird thing of the car that inspired it, now looks like it, almost in tribute to it, I mean its kind of a perfect thank you to the game and the fans for preserving the legacy of the car if you think about it, also the street car was in the game too as one of the unlocks for one of the versions I think, so they would have had to do their homework on both versions of the car for that
Now lets all sit back and appreciate the fact that BMW actually embraced this car, FINALLY!! used the actual le mans race car is legendary. Now we can all sit back and peacefully add this to players and nfs timeline. If they make a nfs most wanted two, it starts off by somebody stealing the car back from that place 😅. All jokes aside i just hope nobody actually tries to attempt to steal this thing because it is a real GTR. And its need for speeds most iconic car. 😂 But on the other hand, its germany.
Also take note because i heard it was confirmed that these *BEAST* comes with a supercharger which explains more why it was more louder in the sequel to the NFSMW⁰⁶ which is NFSC (Need For Speed Carbon) (idk if it is true but BlackPanthaa said that it is confirmed that they are prebuilt to have one)

Thank you guys for turning it into one of the most iconic cars ever conceived in media into a real life replica.
This is my 3rd favorite NFS car, just behind Zephyr’s Agera R from Rivals and Darius’ Audi from Carbon
Words cannot describe how psyched I am to see how your M3 build come together
Same! It’s gonna be great
Imagine if Audi will take notes and build Darius' Le Mans too
That’d be so sick
Chris Fletcher can build a 4.4 litre N/A S65 flatplane V8
the vents are connected to the radiator ducts for more cooling and to reduce lift
You are back!
I ain’t going anywhere!
@@TheRacingJoker we want more of this content again
I got genuine goosebumps seeing it, Thanks for this video. Now I need to plan a Heist
This pursuit is now condition 5
This car is the reason why I fell in love with the M3.
They should make a production street model while looking exactly the same outside but having all the new techs and comforts of an street car. It would be an banger.
9:10 If you want the closest comparison to the P60B40 it is AMG's M178 engine. No road car engine gets as close to the P60B40 in specifications.
I prefer the LT6, sounds the same and makes great power N/A without race fuel
I prefer m113k
My dream car made real? Hell yes! This is a masterpiece!
It really is
The straight cut gears are what had me addicted to the car in most wanted, it sounds like a jet taking off mixed with a supercharger
Totally relate to you dude!
This is my ultimate dream machine and a car that's incredibly close to my heart. ❤ That’s why I started my e46sim project right in my room-to bring this legend to life in the most personal way
That’s awesome!
man... they really had to make that engine start even if just for a while, its strange to imagine, but 90% of the fans, never heard the sound of it in person.
Most people who have heard it in person heard it over 20 years ago which is nuts
The list you mention at 2:39 dude my favorites cars too and including the P1 GTR from McLaren but the need for speed most wanted video game is my culture and education love the first time dude, when my friend was playing on his console Xbox first one the video game I just fail in love, didn’t stop playing the video game. Cheers bro.
I love this car so much I wrote a paper on it back in high school
Super hella cool to have Razor and the voice actor back, but I also see why they did this. Not only cos it’ll be 20 years since the OG release, but Unbound ain’t doing well lol.
M3 gtr is one of if not THE goat, for street car guys 🤘🏼
I love the e46 shape its timeless
Absolutely! It’s why I just had to have one. Childhood dream car
@@TheRacingJoker same here i only have e46 325 convertible had it for years and no point selling it now but my mate still has the e46 m3 csl
I hope they run it at least once somewhere. A lot of people were saying Goodwood
It being done by BMW itself also makes it wayyyy cooler
Trueeee. The Run was awesome
in germany you can buy an original m3 gtr, it is very expensive. but remind you this car is not build too be driven on streets, the engine is not made too hold a long time. the whole car is not build too be driven on the streets for a long time, it is just an race car made street legal. so oil leaks and so on everywhere on that car.
I hope they take it to Goodwood
That would be perfect
It´s not a replica. It´s real!
Makes perfect sense!
After all the years of just watching on boards from the early 2000s, they should have the M3 GTR do a Nurburgring lap again.
With modern cameras and microphones, that would be glorious
At the very least they should take this to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Excellent video 😎👌
It would be a dream to own and drive and race that. Every day I will check on it in the morning and check on it before I go to bed at night
Honestly, even if it's just a temporary livery, the most incredible thing to me is a brand acknowledging the fame around the car. Usually you hear about how car brands are reluctant to license their cars to a game that has cop car chases and illegal street racing.
This is a great point! Goes to show they recognize the value a game series like need for speed can add to a car’s legacy
These few clips in the white lighting I cannot beleive how shiny it is.
Dam need for speed did a real good job with these graphics I'm impressed
The livery is such a home run out of the park design
This thing is a work of GOD. Love the channel Joker.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks man! And yeah this is pretty insane
@@TheRacingJokerprobably bmw knew that most wanted has its 20th anniversary in 2025 so yeah i think nissan should recreate Eddie's r34 too
@@ΣάββαςΓρηγοριάδης could they, i thought Eddie's skyline IRL vanished
"Two of you out there driving at killer speeds to prove something while tearing up the American asphalt... Born to run baby, born to run"!
what i would love to see, is if they properly recorded this car. both sound and video. as a memorial to us nfs fans and for Criterion to finally use the REAL RAW sound of this gem.
The transmission whine is just the cherry on top with the V8. 😍
It’s like automotive spicy seasoning
I got an urge to get a passport and fly to Germany just to see this work of art... That's how special this is
@@banditsco if you can then do it! Also having a passport is really useful. I’ve had mine since I was a kid
@ Now if i can just find that birth certificate…
I like it... but it's tough to say i love it because the PTG kits look SO much better.
I still prefer the kit on GTR 006
Really really want to go but can’t😢 Dream car right here man! Also ur videos are 🔥🔥
I’m in the same boat man, and thanks!!
I saw something on Instagram, thought its fake, told myself"ah, another replica"...
I am flabbergasted.
I thought it was ai generated at first 😂 cause I thought there’s no way it was real
And what’s cool it is indeed the most wanted car in the world! Now we need to get the NFS speed Mustang from the movie in game!
I love this as i still own my e46 wagon 325i ❤❤❤❤
That’s awesome!
Yeah BMW cares about that car too much to do that
This is my first time watching this video soon as i heard your building the M3 GTR i subscribed
I remember playing nfs mw on
my ps2 at the time i couldn't even speak or understand English
My disck was bugged and couldn't finish my game because it was not the original so a shop owner suggested that to get the original game you have to order it from USA i said I'll pay np
It cost me about 106 us dollars which costs nearly a brand new ps2 in my country in that time
but i bought the game without any hesitation
Hopefully one day will get my hands on BMW M3
if im luck enough
That’s dedication! And I guarentee you’ll love how my GTR turns out
@TheRacingJoker good luck
And remember
With the right tools you'll be unstoppable
This is actual art. I never thought BMW would touch any chassis especially the schnitzer one and do something like this. I always kinda assumed if anyone from BMW that heard about Most Wanted kinda rolled their eyes at the entire thing and never took it seriously, but man was I wrong. The guy odonata cinema featured alongside BlackPanthaa were going to have some top replicas, but BMW took their spotlight away with the real thing.
I thought this chassis was off limits too!
Straight cut gears are big in Rally
Cross: (scrapes car with keys)
Also Cross: 😗 ...nice pinstripes
One of the most cool cars on planet ❤❤❤
My favourite one for sure
ITS THE REAL DEAL
The biggest deal
I wish Midnight club series comeback and continue this series like NFS series Also tge E46 M3 GTR was my favourite BMW race car including the E30 M3 DTM.
Now it's not game character anymore, it's a legend that will live forever in the hearts of NFS MW fans forever
A pretty cool legacy for a car to have
@TheRacingJoker after this I can now rest it's now 01:46 (at my location) the amount of history this car has is bigger than my understanding. I'll take the M3 GT-R than ANY OTHER CAR on earth whether the Agera or Jesko , Nismo Z tune, or even the F1 LM. I❤️the M3 GT-R the most
I wish you all the best, my brother!
You too!
I hope they make a model of it like this, as it looks nice, like its a really nice deep dark blue, the silver and white pop properly, like it genuinely looks good, also wait what do you bet, that car, the reason why they chose it, is because that's what the sound guys copied for the game
so you got this weird thing of the car that inspired it, now looks like it, almost in tribute to it, I mean its kind of a perfect thank you to the game and the fans for preserving the legacy of the car if you think about it,
also the street car was in the game too as one of the unlocks for one of the versions I think, so they would have had to do their homework on both versions of the car for that
That’s a great point! A model would be awesome
😂 But on the other hand, its germany.
this is crazy ive been on an most wanted craze for the past two months and boom here we are.
That’s cool, nice when things line up like that 👌🏻
Also take note because i heard it was confirmed that these *BEAST* comes with a supercharger which explains more why it was more louder in the sequel to the NFSMW⁰⁶ which is NFSC (Need For Speed Carbon) (idk if it is true but BlackPanthaa said that it is confirmed that they are prebuilt to have one)
This car has always been N/A. The straight cut gears are just louder in Carbon, making it more similar to the real thing
Really cool of bmw
Super cool! Never thought they’d do it!
I’m following just to see what ur e46 is going to look like in the future
Thanks man!
