    Wow 😮, you are a freaking treasure, I’ve been a bit frustrated lately coz I’m new to sfv and Ive been trying to understand footsies and neutral, looking everywhere for days now and then I stumble upon this gem, I know this video is old but believe me it is going to help me out big time! Thank you, we need more people like you

      Thanks for the kind words. I'm trying to get more into SFV these days and hope I can make some content again. Good luck with the training.

    Very, very good video sir. As a high level competitor myself I can recommend this video to any player, just to get a grip again on the concepts. Normally when I watch these videos I tend to disagree with 80% of being said but you are right on the mark. Keep up the good work.

    Thank you for making this video. As someone who has only ever played fighting games casually (button mashing against equally casual friends) this opened my eyes. I watched EVO this year and it inspired me to play, but I had no idea just how much STUFF was going on... and this is just in the walking around! Its truly impressive and those players make it look easy. Thanks again for the eye-opening video.

      tmujir955 Hey thanks a lot dude. My goal is to explain fundamentals in the most simple fashion possible but that is easier said than done. I'm happy to hear that it is working for some of you. The content over the summer has been slow but I hope to have more coming very soon. Comments like this help keep the motivation up so thank you again.

    At first I was thinking to myself: “These quotes seem familiar....”
    Couldn’t put my finger on it and then I saw “The Book of Five Rings” in the description.
    Good shit man, you’ve earned my sub.

    Amazing dude. I wish you just pumped this shit out for a living. I love this song by the way please link. I mean, I never check back on my youtube comments, but it's the thought that counts, right?
    You've covered footsies in a way that cuts the 48 minutes of Juicebox's ranting down to 7 minutes of concise and to-the-point, easy to understand explanation. It doesn't go as in depth but you really don't need to for the newer player. Fantastic job.

      MelficeVKM I just bounce between Soundcloud, 8 tracks, and just music my friends share with me. I've never used Spotify before. Maybe I'll get into it and share with you!

      MelficeVKM I started a Soundcloud profile for anyone who wants my music. It's still small but I'll be updating it with more people I follow, in case you are interested. Cheers

    Hey I just wanted say I love your video they are really helpful and inspiring.I plan on making my own fighting game video i hope they turn out as good as your.question what program do you use for editting?I really like the comic style you have going on.

    • @JayR_SF
      @JayR_SF  8 лет назад

      Hey sorry I never got around to answering this. Better late than never I guess.. I am a big fan of editing in Adobe Premiere but I also use Adobe After Effects for certain things and Photoshop / Illustrator for other graphic related stuff. It's really easy to move back and forth around these programs since they are all Adobe Products.
      For a free alternative look into Davinci Resolve. Resolve was made more for color correction or color grading but over the years it's basically turned into a full fledged editor... for free. Take care and good luck.

    Almost took a pass when I realized there was no voice over. Those videos on RUclips generally annoy me, but the information is good. I stuck around, and I'll be back.

    How did you achieve the bouncy speech bubble effect? Was it a one-off animation that you just repeated?

    • @JayR_SF
      @JayR_SF  9 лет назад +1

      Hirameki Tracking in After Effects. My process goes something like this... first the script, figuring out where the cuts go, break the text into smaller sizes for the text bubbles and figure how long it takes to read them out, record and capture, edit all the cuts into a seamless video and export with Premiere, track the exported video in After Effects, then place all the bubbles and text on that track, and then proof read so I can miss all my mistakes and get called out on RUclips for it :)
