Hi, i have the HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 It has no key for the backlight and none of the function keys+fn combinations work for the backlight. I don't have a problem with my keyboard. I just want to know where to find a keyboard like this that I can use for a PC setup. I don't like the clacky ones. It feels like I don't need to press down too hard on this keyboard and offers a very lightweight tactility. Almost like you're not pressing on anything... which I find is good.

Restart the computer and immediately press the F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens. Navigate to the Advanced tab. Use the arrow keys to navigate in the BIOS. Use the down arrow key to highlight Built-in Device Options, and then press Enter. Use the down arrow key in the Built-in Device Options to select Backlit keyboard timeout. Press the space bar to open the keyboard backlight settings. Select the desired setting for timeout of the backlighting. NOTE: Selecting Never makes the backlight stay on constantly unless yout turn it off with the function key on the keyboard. If it remains on, your battery power could drain quickly. It has no key for the backlight and none of the function keys+fn combinations work for the backlight.
I previously turned it off via the bios menu’s advanced settings. But after the bios update that section is gone. I was wondering if there is a way to turn it back on.

I don't have a problem with my keyboard. I just want to know where to find a keyboard like this that I can use for a PC setup. I don't like the clacky ones. Hello, I have a backlit keyboard option as it has worked previously. However, now it is not working. I have tapped the "F4" key with and without including the "fn" key with no success. Restart the computer and immediately press the F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
Navigate to the Advanced tab. Use the arrow keys to navigate in the BIOS.
Use the down arrow key to highlight Built-in Device Options, and then press Enter.
Use the down arrow key in the Built-in Device Options to select Backlit keyboard timeout.
Press the space bar to open the keyboard backlight settings. Select the desired setting for timeout of the backlighting.
NOTE: Selecting Never makes the backlight stay on constantly unless yout turn it off with the function key on the keyboard. If it remains on, your battery power could drain quickly.

i tried f5 and fn+f5 = nothing
i changed bios settings = nothing

If your HP notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, take a look at the top bar of your keyboard and locate the F5 button. This button may even be labeled with a backlight icon. Simply clicking this button while pressing the Fn button located at the bottom row of your keyboard will leave you with keyboard lighting operational magic.
It may be a simple on/off or, on some models, you can adjust the brightness of the backlighting.
Also, depending on your computer model, your PC may be configured to control the backlit keyboard via the F9 or F11 button rather than the F5 button. Practice the same simultaneous Fn + F11 operation to turn on a backlight keyboard light.
