Genuine Honda Part #39112-SHJ-003
When shopping for parts, look under "Console"
Thank you for these instructions Sir! I got my part from the local dealer by struggling through the Honda eStore site. I was able to drive 2 miles to the local dealer for pickup and avoid the $7 shipping and handling fee. Thanks to the instructions in your video, I was able to change out the aux audio plug with only 15 mins of work. I suck at repairing cars, but you saved me at least 15 additional mins of work struggling to figure out how to get that console panel off. I did break one of the tabs off the retention clips using the butter knife method, but so far it appears to be holding in place okay. I am going to take my family out this weekend with the $200 of dealer labor costs you saved me and we will enjoy music on our road trip later this year. Thank you for posting this!
Glad things worked out for you! Next time you get an oil change, see if they can pop a new tab in where the other one broke. But with the screws then those panels stay on pretty good anyhow. Enjoy your trip and your music, or in my families case movies in surround sound. :)
Family Funertainment Thanks, will do! Where are you guys from? We are located in Chandler, AZ.
I have a very happy teenager! Thank you for the video - never imagined it would be such an easy fix!
I recently bought 2010 Honda Odyssey and I didn’t realize that came with aux problem ,it seems like the previous owner got stuck a broken piece in side the socket and i thank you for this video it Helped me changing the AUX JACK
Perfect video for the job on a 2009. Love the use of the butter knife. Didn't even need the spatula. Thanks for posting!
Did you use the same part for an '09? We have one with the piece stuck in it, too.
This was very helpful. Replaced my 2008 Odyssey in just 15 minutes using this approach, after acquiring the correct Honda part online. It was a snap. Just watch when popping the plastic rivets off that they don't go out the car and into the grass! LOL Keep a thumb on it and gently pry it out.
Your how-to video worked with my 2006 Odyssey EX-L. I used the video to change a bulb in my driver's seat heater switch. Thank you for posting.
does this work in a 2006 odyssey?
I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey! Does this work on mine?
AWESOME! I'm not sure why you took off the side panels. Will need to look at mine to see if they overlap on the auxillary panel. Thank you for making this an easy follow....
Great video. Although I am not dealing with the same issue, your content will be very helpful as I tear into the dash of our Odyssey. And then you wrap up the video with Lindsey Stirling. Could not have been better!
Great video. I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm. Total project took about 15 minutes and the replacement part was ordered from Amazon for ~ US$16. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
Remember it' always a good idea to check your new part is in as you found the old part and functioning correctly before putting the dash back together. I am talking here from experience!! LOL!!
Had the same issue, thanks for showing how to replace and the part number.
I have this on order on Amazon.. What I like about this is that you can plug in a double-ended 3.5mm plug, and it also has a USB charger, so you can replace the plug if it goes bad again.. 27.99.
Yomikoo Aux Adapter, 3.5mm AUX Interface & USB Car Charging Port for Honda Accord 2003-2012, City 2002-2011, CRV 2005-2014, Civic 2006-2012, Odyssey 2005-2010, TSX 2004-2011
Thank you for making this video! It will be a great a great help when I'll make time to change my aux too.
Thanks Man! Worked great on my 2009 Odyssey - Helps to know where you need to pry and when to slide :)
Thanks for the detailed video of the lower dash disassembly 😊
I’ll definitely use this video. I use my mom car and it doesn’t have a aux input so imma just add it.
You are a genius.!!! Great job
Yes thanks 😊 I really needed this video
Nice video! Did everything correctly :)
Thank you for making this video!
Interesting. My radio says theres an aux input, but i have 2 cigarette lighter ports... There's input for RWY in the rear but they dont work for some reason...
Thank you for your video,it help me a lot!
Before you change outlet make sure your fuse is not blown. There are two fuse for these outlets 1 on each side that are 10 Amp
The best option awesome! Thank you dude!
This was super helpful. Thank you!
You’re video was perfect. Thank you so much for the help!
Thank you. Installed!
I just clean it with a battery brush a rag some brake clean and dial electric grease. And it worked again.
I have a 2010 Odyssey with this port and have never had this problem. We use the AUX port all the time.
Glad you don't have that issue but if you ever do?.... then you know where to come for help on how to fix the problem 🙂
I have a GPS and DVD set up from Honda. Where that AUX is on this van I have a regular power outlet. Can I just swap it to an AUX? My van is also same year yours.
Mine came with 2 cigarette lighters and no aux port. If I buy this can I install it or will it not work out? It has aux button on the dash but no port. Very strange
Would a Honda dealership help with my question or is that a waste of money?
Hey great video. Extremely helpful. Thanks so much. Just put one in my wife's minivan.
You got any suggestions on good tires for the odyssey?
We get our tires thru discount tire🙂
thanks! but I also think bend up bit old one it will also work, just because the poor quality of the socket.
Very good job thank you very much
This was very helpful thank you
Gracias por la enseñanza hermano lástima que no te entendi nada por que no ablo el inglés saludo viejo bonita familia 👍
Thanks a lot! Very helpful!!!
Nice vid! Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Thanks man.
I wonder if this would work on newer models of Hondas? I have a 2014 and for the longest time I thought it was my cable itself going bad and I kept switching out and now I realize unfortunately, that was the car the entire time…
Nice video 👍👍
Does this work with a 2006 odyssey?
Muy buena la inf no ablo inglés pero entendí gracias
What if mine has 2 car charger ports, could i replace one with an aux input and have it still work?
No, only if you already have the aux input will it work.
Curious, is the 5 pin harness compatible with other honda Aux ports? I want to hide a connection behind my dash and I can get a replacement civic aux port from the same year for almost free. If they are compatible, I'd just do that instead of buying another Odyseey one. It won't be mounted in the front so the size doesn't matter.
If my 07 HO has two outlets and there is no aux port, can I buy that aux input and just add it the same way?
it is actually the standard harness that comes with 2009+ models. You will have to look for an aftermarket one, you can start here:

The aux button on mine does absolutely nothing when I press it. Maybe I need to do this?

I have a 2006 Honda odyssey touring and I don't have this aux thing at all, but I have two im guessing their lighter plugs can I use one and add that part you installed or no? I haven't used Pandora in almost a year now. lol only cds
do u know if thhis work in a 2006 odyssey
I don't believe that it will work in a cigarette lighter port as this aux port is wired directly to the stereo system...sorry.
GTA car kits will make your phone pair with your radio. Look it up.
Why are you connect
you can buy one on ebay for $10
Thanks for the video. I was able to replace the part but it still didn’t resolve the problem. There must be something else that is defective. Perhaps that green piece or some of the wiring is loose.
Did you resolve this problem? I have 08 and when selecting AUX on the radio, the display never goes to AUX, it just cycles between XM1 and XM2. This happens regardless of anything plugged in or not. I’m also curious if it’s required to have something plugged in to be able to switch to AUX.
Nope. I ended up trading in the van before ever being able to resolve the problem.
Our 2005 Odyssey has the same issue except the faulty socket is on the driver side in the console next to the back passenger row. Any advice on how to replace that one?
How do you even configure the aux audio in the radio. I can't figure out how to do it.
but man how this work is suppose to be a power plug i am right please tellme iam in mexico if this work witout a audio av ,really appreciated your info thanks a lot
This is 2007 model as well right?
Hello !! one more question please. it's the first time I'm going to do this to my ban, I'm going to re-insert the piece to load cell by the auxiliary piece. if you can do that?
Leslie Freites: Yes, it's the piece so you can attach your phone to the speakers.
My 06 Odyssey has dvd and satellite [from prev owner]. I don't want to use the Satellite and it doesn't work anyway due to expired subscription. Can that be unplugged to add this Aux 3mm audio or does the dvd have to come out too. I want to keep the dvd for the kids...thanks
rkidlat: Great question, unfortunately I'm not sure how the 2006 is wired so I am guessing you would need more than just the aux input I used, you would also need the wiring to run from the stereo to that input.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Does it work for a 2005 model? Because I asked at the dealer and they say no.
What size is the AUX input? I have the exact same model and 39112-SHJ-003 part and it is not a standard 3.5 mm jack. Is it 2.5 mm?
William Anderson: the one I got was a standard 3.5mm. Most newer technology does not use the smaller 2.5mm. If yours is not fitting properly you may need to exchange it as they may have sent you the wrong part.
Will this work on a 2007??
Hello would this work on a 2006 Honda Odyssey EX?
Hey bro that works for a Honda Odyssey touring 2006?
do you know if this will works for honda odyssey 2006? thanks
1ndope: I am not sure the 2006 has the auxillary input. I don't remember it being in my 2008 odyssey, either. I think it is for 2009 and newer.
my car is 2006 EX trim there is aux botton but no port to plug it.. i asked honda they said they have it but idk if it will works
yes it does work with a 2006 model. see my post above.
Dennis Schreibert Hello, this doesn’t work on 2006. I tried on my van. The plug is different.
Hello !! I need to do this to my sling, where can I buy it? I'm looking for ebay and I can not find it. Can you please tell me what name I look for and where can I buy it? thank you
Leslie Freites: Hi Leslie, I picked mine up at the local Honda dealership, it was a very inexpensive part.
Family Funertainment good data, thank you very much! I'm going to buy it there.
One suggestion, test things out before putting it all back together.
What is the name of this peace please?
A donde lo puedo ordenar
does 2007 odyysey have that green hardness down there too?
I don't think it does. I've owned a 2008 and a 2010 and the 2008 didn't have a place for that same aux. input.
Does anyone know if this will work for 2005 EX?
where can I find that hardness
Hello I own a honda odyssey 2008 and my aux jack doesn't work. When I plug in the aux cable and connect to the radio it sounds far and I have try different phones and aux cables and I still get the same problem. If i was to replace the aux jack will that fix my problem? Can you please tell me the website where you got yours please thanks
Michelle Soler Fernandez: If you have already ruled out the cord then it may be the input. I was able to find mine in stock at the local dealership but I think I have seen them on Amazon for just a little higher price. If you follow my video to do a simple replacement then I think it's worth the $20 to see if it fixes it. Good luck!
Family Funertainment the input is what you replace right??
Another quick question if I was to look for it on amazon how should I word it to be able to find it?
Michelle Soler Fernandez: Yes, it's just the input port. On Amazon you can find it by the part number. Put in 39112-shj-003.
Mi Honda es el del 2006 q adaptador me sirven no es de pin
Can I get the harness part number please?
I have two lighter plugs in those spots if i buy that piece will i still be able to make it into an aux plug?
No, because the lighters don't have a port going to the radio
yes you can, you would have to buy the harness that goes from the new aux port to the radio - dealer can help you identify what wire you need
Next time test b4 u fit it up
Will this work on a 07 Touring ?
bigmoe238 I don’t think so
