I've spent around 2 years building my system. If you can do the fab yourself you can save a ton of cash. Learn how to fiberglass and you can build some pretty cool stuff. Relatively cheaply. That has saved me 1000's of dollars. I couldn't even guess what a glove box sub install goes for nowadays...? Looking back it might have been eaier to have someone else do it for me. See avatar... System looks great by the way. Love the cable management. Mine still looks like zip-tied spaghetti.
He bought most of it second-hand. It's the same here in the states. FB Marketplace and ebay have great finds. I got my Focal PS165 Flax midbass for $180 for the pair, and my Audison DSP for $100. The single element that cost the most in my system was the sound deadening at nearly $900 lol.
My system currently stand me: Faital 3FE22 x 2 £40 Factory midbass - £0 Pods for A pillars £50 Sound deadener and foam for door and boot £35 MATCH PP 62DSP - £200 (second hand) MATCH PP 7E-D - £100 (second hand) Factory Android Audio head unit - £0 Misc cabling - £20 Total £445 I have also wrapped my a-pillars in alcantara and added a dash matt to help cut down on reflections. This is in a very small car (Abarth 595) and gets plenty loud enough. TBH is sounds better than the professionally installed JL system I had in my last car. This is my first DSP system and all I can say is that it is a game changer. Also having widebands in the pillars improves the imaging no end. I keep wanting to spend more on it but It just sounds great (to my ears) as it is. I may change the DSP Amp to a newer model, but that's just for the extra features.
You did well and saved a lot by buying used gear. I have a 5 channel Hertz setup and think I spent close to double that on new gear. Ali Express wasn’t a thing when I did my build. I probably spent £200 on speaker / power wire and Shakmods braid! Depending on what you do and already have, another hidden cost can be tools. I had some, but I needed to buy a router (£120), router bits (£60), wood clamps (£80), wire fishing kit for the doors (£30), trim removal tools (£10), hole saws (£30), leather hole punches (£12), heat gun (£15). But good work, I recall seeing that amp board on the 12V clean wiring group - very clean 👍

Hell i dont have near as nice of components and ive easily got 3-4k in my system Alpine head was 750, dsp was 350, amps were 450, wiring was 300 total, deadened was 400, midbass were 280. Midrange 130, tweeters were 140, pods for tweeters and midranges were 240, box was 200, misc wood would be 80, battey was 900, subs were 500, front sub was 250, i think thats everything so $4950 total and thats lowballing it. Which sucks because the 3 amps arent exactly sq amps, the dsp, does ok but id like to upgrade. A mosconi pro dsp 8|30 is 4k here the 2/30 we dont even know yet but my guess is 2500. My plan is to grab those 2 amps, and 2 sql12s paired with a dd vo-m10s4 for a front sub. I like my highs currently but will likely modify my deadening a bit more

I didn’t catch it in the video, but where did you acquire those clear jacket copper wiring? So inspiring the entire amp rack.
That is just normal typical speaker wire. We bought it of eBay.
It sucks that everything is so expensive here in the U.S.
Don’t forget they are pricing everything in GBP, not USD. Current exchange rate is .75$ GDP = 1$ USD. So 1600$ USD.
Also average pay in US is twice that of UK, your taxes are lower, and biggest costs (like housing) also lower
Usa is cheap compared to many places. It's $6 for a bag of chips in canada. Gas is $1.60 a liter cheap houses start at about $250-$300,000

@jw191 ouch. But you're also driving go carts over there getting 40-50mpg. $50 gets me a 1/4 tank here
Awesomeness³

I like the stand offs. They are labeled as 'billboard fixing screws'👍🏼

Looks like a helix dsp? At least $500 usa, altogether he spent 1000
Would you say that Alpine subwoofer is SQ worthy?
Yes, no doubt.
