Videos on bass behavior. Lots of fishermen do not know what baits work on like cloudy windy days or other weather. Even seasonal patterns would help many. I love all your information! I like how you explain how to do your hacks! GREAT JOB AGAIN David!!!! Roger The ExBassGuide
Old school! These baits were around in the 70-80's if you are on ebay these lures come up as "vintage". Thanks for a great video on new/old stock look, bass are smart and high pressure waters need something different.
I am really late finding and subscribing to your channel, but glad I did. Your instructions are excellent. This is thinking outside the box, but makes complete sense. Can wait to try it.
I see the concept around the umbrella rig reflected in the image of your frog. I've been using the "MJ Rig" idea of Timmy Horton's to great effect on smallies with Ochos. Size of the blade is size of bait.
Great stuff David! I and others appreciate the straight forward practical "Hacks" you are showing us. Keep up the awesome content and congratulations on your record setting Angler of the Year Title.
That’s pretty dam cool. Another thing that you could do is drill a few little holes in the blade. Give it the over the top splashing. Great videos man. Definitely telling my fishing buddies to check out your videos! Heard you on a pod cast while I was at work and looked you up on RUclips. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up to try your Shakey head hooks. Keep up the good work!
Keep them coming David. I haven't used a frog or any other bait yet. I tend to focus more on making the blade as noisy as possible on my homemade buzzbaits. I have been using some thin, brass blades lately that have alot of squeak to them & doing good. I will have to try the frog stuff.
Ed when are you going to ship me some? I am a buzz bait junkie! I'm sure I will be throwing some Buzzbaits this year on tour might even get you some vid time!
David, on a lake like Santee Cooper, is the buzzbait an effective choice on grass/stump flats once the fish start spawning? Or does it work best in pre and post spawn conditions?
Great tip, I've used the 2 willow blades (below the belly) before with the legs still attached with GREAT results. But I'll be trying the 4 blade system. Thanks again and keep those tips coming.
Awesome idea, I like to use double buzz baits and I want to try this with one of them. I usually fish them really close to dark or after dark though so I will most likely use a much darker color of toad, great hack though man. Thanks a lot, I will be sure to give it a try!
+David Dudley I didn't think of that, that's a good idea. Thanks a lot, I just got back and caught 2 on a regular horny toad. I think my only problem with this might be that the place I fish has a ton of cichlids. I fish in South Florida and they will probably bite the blades off. Hopefully coloring them black would remedy that situation some. Still going to try it out, thanks a lot! I will let everyone here know the results with both black and silver blades. :)
WOW, that is some cool stuff. I love tinkering with lures and your video just got me a few other lures to tinker with. I'll send you the results... If it works. Thanks Dave
Drake, Focus on fishing. If you really want to be a pro then you must have something to offer them. So many are asking for sponsorship now they have there pick so you have to stand out. And by standing out I mean by catching fish. Be the one at the top, high school tournaments as well as local & college. When you rise to the top sponsors will look you. Not saying don't ask because you never know unless you do but you always seem to get more when they're looking you, than you looking them. You may have to pass hanging out with friends more and spend that time studying lakes online and on the water. It all comes down to how bad you want it, and it all starts with a positive mental attitude, believing in yourself, and putting in the time and hard work. Remember failure isn't final it's just one more step towards a victory. Not even the best pro's win every event , consistency is what pays the bills. Good luck
New sub and smashed the like button! I have done something close to what this looks like a couple years ago and had great results. Instead of white I used black or blue and Willow blades I found work best
@@howabouthetruth2157 you must not be watchin the same video bud, cause there's white, silver, pink, and chartreuse colored blades on that table. So don't "Dang son" me buddy lol, You just commenting for the hell of it?
U could also do without the screwlock on the back and put the swivel on the hook similar to a trailer hook. You'd loose 1 extra blade rigged that way but they won't be able to tear it off
That is cool trick must try also take that same blade and put it on a senko cut off the point side a little bit put that spinner blade in there and cast under hand on spinning rod let it hit water and leave bail open pull out a little line and it will sink backward think about it any stick bait will work it is a good trick and if you go old school get a power head jig made for weeds 45 degree hook get a 4 inch liz cut out tail put in spinner blade in place of tail they have not seen that since 1970 in Wisconsin that is where it comes from see old fishing facts mags for that

going fishing on the 4th thought I would give this a try. thanks for sharing this with us.

Mr Dudley enjoying the work you do
That has to be the best hack I have ever seen. Wish I would have seen sooner. Thanks for sharing!
This is GREAT! Do you ever use a buzz bait in open water?
Really great stuff!!!! What kind of buzz baits do you use or do you make your own

What size willow leaf blades are those and how small and how large do you go
Got a few old buzzbaits that's getting a makeover. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely something I’d never thought of doing.
That’s gotta be the coolest thing ever done to a buzz bait. Going to make one up tonight and try this week
Do you ever add a trailer hook to this rig?
Thanks Dave, can you recommend any smaller frogs for the strike king mini buzz for smaller average smallmouth? Thanks

I really just started back posting 9 weeks ago I will be posting

Wacky rig hack
I like these hack videos for two reasons
1) Legit hacks
2) Not pushing sponsor products, just good unbiased info
Thank you Dustin Yes don't really care what products I talk about
Yo Dudley, that was amazing. I'm going to watch all your hack videos now. keep that funkay stuff coming!
David, on a lake like Santee Cooper, is the buzzbait an effective choice on grass/stump flats once the fish start spawning? Or does it work best in pre and post spawn conditions?

Would love to see video on lipless baits .Rods reels lines and lures used .Thank you from snowy Ohio.

Yes I got 1!
@@DavidDudleyGreat vid,Would like to see frog hacks ,too .....
Awesome, I’m pumped to try!
by far my favorite angler and not to far from where I grew up, I'm from Oxford, NC
That's pretty cool! Any idea what to use on lakes with no shad? I'm thinking small painted willow blades 🤔
Man this is awesome! THANKS Dudley!
Thank you kevin
What is your favorite buzz bait to rig this on?
Love this Hack! Just made me one can't wait to try it out!!
Can't wait to try this! Except for the licking lead shavings part... probably gonna skip that.
Yea I don't recommend putting it in the mouth just hold away and spit!
Nice tip like to see the bait in the water
Do a video of you fishing that out on the water!! Looks cool man
I'm going to have to wait till spring it has gotten cold here! Thank you for suggesting!
You’re a Hall of Famer in my book
Thank you Joseph I don't take a compliment like that lightly!
WOW, that is some cool stuff. I love tinkering with lures and your video just got me a few other lures to tinker with. I'll send you the results... If it works. Thanks Dave
I am a young high school angler and I would like to see a video on how to go farther in fishing and how to get big name sponsorships
Love the suggestion Drake I will probably do that video!

Gonna do this like sometime this week LOL sick trick
I'll throw a Lunker Lure I've had since the 70's. everyone over complicates everything. Trashed the Ned rig too
this is the good stuff!!thank you David
Thank you Amber and Chad
Love the tips keep them coming 👍
Did the paint on that white blade chip just from you dropping it on the table?? Jeesh
Dang son.....there ain't "a white blade" anywhere on that work bench, lol.
@@howabouthetruth2157 you must not be watchin the same video bud, cause there's white, silver, pink, and chartreuse colored blades on that table. So don't "Dang son" me buddy lol, You just commenting for the hell of it?

Thanks Randy Thanks for watching!
First time I did this caught 5 for 18# one afternoon in February. They eat it so much better!
Excellent tip. Big fish bait.
*Catching Bass for Cash*
Crazy buzzbait bro!
Nice idea.
U could also do without the screwlock on the back and put the swivel on the hook similar to a trailer hook. You'd loose 1 extra blade rigged that way but they won't be able to tear it off
That makes sense. But I bet you could super glue the screwlock in place on the frog.
Awesome hack dud, but looks like it can get really expensive.

Great tip looks awesome
It'd be nice to see that hacked buzz bait under water action!
I wanted to but didn't have any clear water near all the rain has made all the water close to the house muddy!
@@DavidDudley looking forward to more hacks!!
Love the video... now how do we win a fishing trip with you? Lol
I really want to see that thing in the water! Gonna have to do one up myself👍🏻
You won't be disappointed Carl! Just be versital let the fish tell you what they want!
Cool bait. But those blades in in that poor little frog rib cage won't spin.. but I'm definitely going to to make me one without the rib pokers. 👍👍👍
Hot dawg.........I bet that thing DOES work. I'm gonna have to give that a try. I can already see why it would really attract bass to take it.
Yes it does work! Good luck fishing and thanks for watching!
I buy the cheap 1 dollar buzzbait from Walmart. they are cheap and light, which is perfect because it keeps my bait on top of the water.
This is crazy but I like it!! Thanks!
Thank you Chris! Thank you for watching!
I gotta try this
Good luck DeJean!
