If anyone is looking for a singing coach I couldn't recommend Tyler more highly. I have had numerous coaches in my singing journey and no one has come close to the knowledge of Tyler and how he can truly demonstrate what he explains. Every lesson I have had i feel has cut off months of figuring out how to do something with my voice. He explains, demonstrates, gets you to do it the right way, and all you have to do is practise like that and you will see progress. If you truly want to get better, take lessons with Tyler!
I always feel so inspired for your tips! You are a really good singer, a really good teacher and a really wise master of life! Thanks for sharing that wisdom with us! Hope life gives you tons of wealth, happiness and beautiful beautiful paths to keep growing !
I’d like to thank you for your help and info on getting into mixed voice. I’ve been singing fir a living since 1975 and have developed a few bad habits including pulling chest . My speaking voice was always on the breathy side which translated into my singing. I thought the way to sing loud and high was to use more air but that only fatigued my voice . Years ago the gigs were 6 and sometimes 7 night in one club so a lot of time grinding in bad habits. After watching your videos especially the puffy cheeks and other exercises I have been able to get into my mix and no longer feel like I’m hitting a ceiling when singing higher. This week I had 5 nights in a row and made the leap of faith to sing in that place where my voice felt floaty and free even if I made some less than perfect sounds. Each morning after a gig I hydrated, warmed up using the puffy cheeks and other exercises and the following nights were progressively better. I now look forward to singing the next night and not wondering what I have left fit a voice.it’s FUN again! Thank you very much for your help and insight on how to really sing freely. You have a beautiful voice and I wish you the best.
You obviously have great command of your own instrument, plus a beautiful way of breaking it down. What I love and appreciate most, though, is your heart. Keep it up, Dude!
Bro. So thankful for your Spirit-filled and promoted encouragements in these videos. Keep doing ministry like this with what the Lord gifted you and has given you the influence and platform to do! Proud of you brother!
Thanks Tyler ….. Great teaching. I love working with the mixed voice and it does take time to find the pathway, consistently. It’s getting easier each time. It’s exciting. I was excited to hear your quote, such a great teaching and so powerful!! Indeed!!!!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your page. This is exactly one of the things I’ve been trying to figure out! Speaking of asking, I find I struggle with knowing WHEN I should be using chest vs mix vs head voice, so I’m asking: do you have an answer you can share or videos you can direct me to? Is it certain sounds that you want to be in different voices for or beltier notes or how to you determine “oh, now I want to be in my mix for this part coming up” to know where to feel it?
Hi Tyler.Thank you for all your videos. You explain amazing. Please help to understand to sing high notes. For example when I sing E or U vowel it sounds much better but when I changed for A or O etc the quality of sound drops and it sound stiff ..How to find the placement. Resonance and free that voice there.I am also confused how pushing and mix or belt on hight noted aspecially have to sound.Your singing examples very help me to find the right way..Thank you fir all you share !!
I'm still learning, but, for some reason, I can access head mix easier. What I think is that I do something in head mix that I don't do in medium mix. I think I'm almost there. A feel the notes going up and down, can control my larynx and soft palate, can control the back of my tongue and the part where the uvula is, can sense the register, the vibration, the pressure in my larynx. I can know how much my vocal cords are open and now I discovered a muscle that I've never heard anyone talk about. When Charlie Puth hits a high note, this muscle, that is between the pharynx and the back of the mouth, starts going to the center. 😲
@@LuisFernando-qy1qx hey, I find the head mix easier too! And yeah, it feels like you are coordinating and relaxing all of your vocal muscles at once. I'm starting to remember the sensations! Nice to hear your story🙂
I want to be able to use my chest voice and mixed voice, I want overall “good” skills of singing. To be considered a good singer. I already have a good head voice, after 10 years of singing with only head voice. I want to be able to sing with music really well, to have a good ear.
Hi Tyler. This mixed voice is new to me . After 32 years of singing I never took lessons . After many of these videos I have a small grasp on it. When I am in the pocket it's great but it's fails at times and really need a lot more time with it. The notes can really pierce and reach great heights Please tell me it becomes more frequent or accessible with time

@@Johnhasa1 Actually not yet , but two days ago I went up to B4 but it wasn't clear and stable , I have to work hard for it . _The cry_ mostly always works with me. But how if I want bigger sound like i.e. Bolton or Peabo? When I try _sob_ my voice starts to strain. Could you give me some clue? Thank youu
I would mess with some of the pharyngeal sounds. Check out my most recent video ruclips.net/video/s8QvkJ86s6M/видео.html I give a great pharyngeal exercise.
Whenever I sing that song (Just the way you are), I always tend to mix at around the A4 rather than start mixing at around the G4. Basically, Chest up until A4. Is that alright? Btw, my chest reaches until the G4. So is it okay to start mixing beyond that or should I mix around there, as well?
I go to a vocal coach (I’ve taken classes for two years now) I know where to place my mixed voice but when I sing it always sounds wrong or not to good, does that mean that I have to practice more and develop my mixed voice? Can someone help me out?
Great video Tyler! I have a question about high mixed voice notes though. My second break is around Ab4 and I have no trouble mixing up to b4 in a chest dominant feeling. After reaching a C5, i feel that my voice thins to a similar feeling to a head voice and gets whiny/forward like the cry effect you mention here. I can sing in this soft/thin feeling until E5, then my voice breaks. Is this the correct way to approach high mixed voice notes, or should I incorporate more chest/yelling into it?
I'm not a teacher but my vocal coach talked about this to me. He more or less would say both are valuable sounds to learn. I think of it like the same color just a different shade sometimes teal is better than a royal blue. I'd say learn both as long as you can do the chesty/yell in a healthy way. My coach can do this and can call into the B4 and C5 in would most would call "chest voice" even though the voice is kind of always mixing. I can do this aswell but not consistently.
I wouldn't say the cry I'm going for is a whiny thing like a high larynx, but I could still see how it could be perceived as some sort of whine. That's the problem though with "carrying up Too much Chest" Essentially what that means is just increasing glottal adduction (unnecessarily so), Increasing breath pressure (again for really no benefit) and raising the larynx making everything even thinner and even tighter in feeling (again not really helping). I personally don"t think you ever really need to do that for any sound you are wanting to get. i think you can get most if not all sounds with a balanced phonation approach. But that is just my opinion.
The motivation at the end of that really hit me hard. Thank you man, truly.
What I have learned from this video :
"Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you" .

Can I be able to sing high instantly once I get into mixed voice ?

Is it common to get breathy when going into mix voice
It's common when learning yes!

How can we mix in the second bridge? A4 to C5? 🥺
You have to just continue going straight up the vertical instead of trying to go straight out the mouth. Vague but still true.
