    That down and out in the core really helps. Find it even improves vibrato. 👍

    Thanks for sharing this. I’m a bit confused though in the specific mention about the involvement of rib cage- for what I thought, is it not naturally joining or helping when you’re singing properly from diaphragm?

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  7 месяцев назад

      Thomas J Hixon did a lot of research on this. He found that singers and speakers used the rib cage more than they realized. He also found that what singers thought they were doing wasn't what they actually did. He has several books on respiration as well as a whole host of research papers published that you can find.

    I love that you are always about the Mixed voice - or at least most of the time. It's such an interesting topic and I love getting new ways of nurturing the mixed voice. Recently had a breakthrough with the blowing into card exercises

    Are the breathing technique different in classical and modern singing?

    Loved your conclusion! I was one of those voice students that was told I didn't "have it", and then my voice teacher started choosing songs that she says were the only ones I could sing, I hated every single one of those songs and eventually I just quit classes. Only recently I started researching different techniques and experimenting with my tone and placement again. Thanks for the encouragement! ❤️

    Hey Tyler cool informative videos. I watch most of them . I feel audiences are going for more chesty sounds tho. i think mix sound looses the connection to singers personal sound and like every singers falsetto sounds similar the mix also sounds like its the same singer ,kinda like autotune makes everyone sound the same. It almost has robotic sound ,very technical and not connected to human emotion.

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  3 года назад +4

      Def don’t agree with you there. But that’s totally cool. You do not need to be my disciple. If you want to have a chesty/yelly sound there are lots of coaches posting that kind of content. I personally don’t enjoy the overly chesty/yell sound, but if you do that’s awesome. Go and learn it from someone who teaches that way.

      @@tylerwysong Thanks for answering. I think i dont know any classic singer who sings with that mix sound that people love. If we take rock and ballad singers bryan adams ,metallica ,barry manilow, richard marx ,scorpions plus country singers and the list is endless ,only place i see this sound is in voice lessons or some singer in talent show ,but never a classic singer that people love
