Thank you Steven, I’m glad the video was useful.. When I changed to the Honda NX500 recently it took 2/3 weeks to sort out fitting these back onto bike but during that time I was seriously missing the better visibility offered with them fitted…now back to seeing behind properly 😂
Even the smallest motorbike tweaks are interesting. I appreciate you taking us in the garage for some tinkering. I like that you give us detail shots at the end, too. Nice job!
They really are. With my GS I’ve been doing things for years and now the bike fits like old slippers. But I ordered something else that is in the mail...Hippo Hands. They are handlebar muffs for cold weather riding. I had some back in the ‘80’s when I was riding and they worked a treat back then when I was commuting. I have also ordered little bits for the Honda which we haven’t even picked up from the dealer yet! 😝 Getting accessories is so much fun!
I’m keeping the GS. The Honda is sort of a grand experiment for me to see if a downsize is in my future, but it’s also for my wife to upgrade to from her G310 GS. So we will be sharing it for now. But I think I’m going to love it! So there may be a fight brewing! 😝
@@bradb2514 I do like the GS’s, had a few over the years and a Yamaha Super Tenere, all great bikes but I’m enjoying the relative lightness of the Honda, however if my wife still came on a bike as pillion I’d likely still have a GS! It’s going to be interesting to see who wins the keys for your wife’s new bike the most 😂
Thanks for this vid.I ride a 2017 model and have been considering this upgrade for a while as £20 ,for what is two very small bits of metal, always seemed difficult to justify. However on the back of your vid ,I bit the bullet and bought them from R&G.They certainly make a difference for me (5’ 7”) so from a safety / increased vision point of view it was money well spent. I’m glad that I watched your guidance as none came with the bits and I wouldn’t have immediately gathered that there was a requirement to re-use the original mounts. On another subject; tents and travel.Having completed a 4 week trip through France and Spain via the Pyrenees, if I had to change anything it would be the 2 person tent I took.Whilst the space was fine, just having a front opening is a pain for long trips and I’d look at ones with two side openings to ease access and reduce the constant crawling.Cheers.Richard.
Hi Richard, I’m pleased it was useful for you and thanks for letting me know. Tents can be a very individual matter, but the MSR Elixir2 that I have is excellent from that perspective, door and porch either side, along with being a very nice light and roomy interior. There’s also a Naturehike tent called the Mongar2 which is very similar to the MSR but cheaper! I’ve never had the Mongar but do have a different Naturehike tent and rate them highly. Your 4 week trip sounds brilliant, any thoughts for next year...regards Andrew
Andrew , I only mention the tent and the constant “crawling” as we are around the same age: I took redundancy at 58 two yrs ago and did the trip immediately .If C19 ever ends then I’m looking at the Spanish Picos.I live in Bristol so can take the ferry to Santander quite easily although it’s still a 20hr ish crossing.I currently use SW Motech soft panniers and dry bags but am looking at your set up although I’m considering changing the exhaust but am restricted by having a centre stand. There is a company in Kendal which might be able to sort me out and plan to visit in the new year for an assessment.Safe riding !
@@richardfews2113 just talking today to someone about the Picos as I fancy a trip there! I’ve been on the Santander crossing, but then went cross crossing the Pyrenees. I’m also contemplating an exhaust, and have started looking...is the Kendal you mention the one in Cumbria (my old stomping ground) and can you recall the company, cheers Andrew
Thanks for that. I was looking at these for my cb500x but was not sure if it would make much difference. I’m pleased to see it dose and they look good too. Off to order some now. 👍
Hi Peter, so pleased it helped, thanks for letting me know! As it was only a small item I wasn’t so sure it would be useful to anyone and very nearly didn’t film it but then, as I said in the video, if it just helps one person then it’s worth it. Cheers Andrew
Nice straightforward video and I concur with your logic and will follow your recommendation for the same product - I have the same CB500X model as you. Thanks
hi good video its nice to see what they look like once they are on . was just thinking you could put bars on full lock might of saved you taking off screen . i changed my mirrors and took my screen off first time :-)

I fitted these to my last bike. They appeared to make a difference....until I put my jacket on! The sleeves blocked the rear view about the same as they did without them. Hope you don’t have this problem.
Hi Aun, only time will tell 😆 to be fair mine weren’t too bad as standard. I had some elbow shaped ones on a Yamaha and they pushed sideways about as well as up about 50cm both directions 👍🏻
Ha, I honestly didn’t think that through, I should have a ‘bloopers’ section 😂 😂 in my defence I was taking them off anyhow to fit a camera mounting bracket and I was tired and mildly confused!! Nope bloopers it is 😆 👍🏻
I'm the one person who never used extenders and this video has convinced me to invest. Well explained and thanks for posting 🙂

Thanks Brad, the little tweaks are fun to do and mostly inexpensive 👍🏻

Thanks for the video. It certainly helped me determine in which direction to turn the 3 components on my Honda.
Glad it was useful 👍🏻
Thanks for this video, I’ve just fitted mine - a lot easier having seen you do it first!
Glad it helped Paul 👍🏻

Yep, I’m an idiot 😂 👍🏻
If you turned the handlebars to full lock either way, you wouldn’t have to take the windscreen off to spin the mirrors off..
