Thank you, so much, for posting a full-length, real-time video! I enjoyed watching this little kitten come alive! I'll check out other parts of your channel.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed this.
Thank you so much Emma. Ever since I was given a pencil and paints over 80 years ago I have been trying to paint and draw animals. I have also been following artists for a similar length of time and have never before met anyone quite like yourself with quite such a natural gift enhanced by many hours. Even with my age and shaky hands I am going to look up your details, watch more videos and who knows, buy the most extensive set of Animal pastels I have ever come across and maybe even produce something worth while.
Thank you so much for your comment! I love to hear from such a wide variety of ages who are enjoying art and especially pastel. I hope that I am lucky to still be painting at your age and will gladly accept shaky hands as a way to get different effects! I'd love to hear how you get on with the pastels and I bet you have produced many things that are 'worth while'. Thanks for visiting and enjoying and happy pastelling!
You are a master of your art, Emma. This was pure magic to watch. Thank you !
Thank you!
Thank you for the real time videos! I love watching you paint and the sound of the pastels

What an incredible privilege to learn from you! I know the technique. I know the process. I do what you do... I don't have the magic you sprinkle on every piece you do. It's phenomenal. Watching it come to life is surreal ❤
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I don't know if there is magic, just a lot of practise over many years and even teaching now has made me improve. I need to fully understand what I'm doing and why to be able to explain it. Made me look even deeper at the process. Thanks again.
Thank you Emma you are an inspiration!
Wonderful Emma. 😍
Thank you so much Emma
Emma, it is such a privilege to watch you paint. I still panic a bit in the brave stage and sometimes take a long break from painting. So I hope to embrace the underpainting in this paintalong and keep moving forward.
Oh what a cute kitten.
You are amazing. Thank you so much for these videos!

Espectacular
Thank you for such a great detailed video, this taught me a lot about building up the layers before completing the eyes. I have a question about your Caran d'ache pencils. Some of the reviews say they are scratchy, have you found that to be the case?. Do you have the whole set of just a few? I have both FC Pitts and Carbothello, and the big Conte's. I wish though I had a softer pencil for the end details.
Thank you! I know what you mean by scratchy. I do find that a little and it depends on the colour sometimes. The darker colours are easier in pencil form than the light colours. I only have a couple of Caran d'ache, mostly FC and a few Carbothellos. Best tip for white is the Generals white 4414. A game changer! And I love a brand called Bruynzeel for black. I'm starting to gather a collection of brands where I have favourites of each colour. But to be honest I don't use them enough to warrant having a whole set of any of them. They tend to be small tweaks and certain details only.
What a splendid job on this one. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is a great help. I am working on a Weinmaraner dog on a compleet black background. I choose black paper to do this. Can you do an item of how to keep that black canvas clean while working?
Thank you! You might find this video useful as I created a black background using both dark and light paper. ruclips.net/video/QiApvMXksM4/видео.html
I like to pastel my background for that very reason, so I can keep it clean with the appropriate pastel. Recently did a robin where I had to keep the paper colour clean. I ended up using an eraser lightly at the end to clean up some areas.
