    What if you have the M Sport model? I have the E60 550i and when I hit the sport button, the shifts are fast and brutal but when sport mode is off, it’s a normal car.

      I feel you, my 335i is the same way. You just gotta find the sweet spot that the car likes most to shift at, once you find that the shifts will still be aggressive but won’t be as jerky as normal when you don’t use the paddles

    You really took it easy on those roads, I’d love to get some time of those roads lol. But great video, definitely gonna do it as well once i get my tranny in order

    How is your transmission holding up? I have to get a used trans as mine has started misbehaving and thats only stage 2 mhd though I'd never flashed xhp. Maybe it would have helped

    Hey for some reason my car hesitates a little bit after I shift when I’m really laying on it, have you experienced this as well? Any fix?

      Disable torque bog for (MT) through MHD! I did this and it made a big difference.

    You have xdelete along with the XHP tune? I’m interested in doing this with my e60

    This is still incredibly slow compared to the ZF8 with xhp, is that the fastest this trans shifts?

      Still incredibly fast for an A/T how much faster can the shifts get lol! Could still bump up shift speeds but I enjoy where it is at!

      @@fry.master thank you for this comment, I love it when educated individuals talk facts! When you say “Race mode” do you mean like once you shift the car into “sport” with the gear shifter?

      @@Kamshaft sorry no, it’s a separate flash option within XHP’s stage 3 or 4 configuration settings.

      @@fry.master if I enable zero torque reduction would this be extra hard on the transmission? Just curious

      @@Kamshaft xhp’s tooltip in the setting itself claims “4x more clutch wear”. I believe this to be a massively wide approximation. There exists a balance in shift speed / force to find optimal clutch wear.
      Think about it: slipping the clutches is what wears the packs. So faster shifts mean less time slipping, but the harder force means the slip that does happen is more damaging. This ratio also changes depending on torque load and vehicle weight…. I digress.
      Main point is, not reducing torque output during the moment of shift is going to put a massive shock load on your clutch packs. This shock load sometimes might bite perfect with a crisp tire chirp, and feel like a monster making you want to do it again. But as soon as they slip a few good times doing that, they’re gone. I would only recommend that mode if you were going for a PR, had a very overbuilt transmission, or just otherwise needed every ounce the car has for a single race.

    i did not believe you when you said these transmission were cheaper to replace then to buy oil and a filter for.
    ZF8HP45 all over the place for $200. wow

      I actually did service my trans a bit after making this video & it made it even shift better! I am now servicing it again and this time also replacing the shift solenoids & mechatronic seals, cost over $1000 just for all the parts & fluid.

      @@Louie_E92 it’s pretty straightforward, you got it! Keep everything clean and work safely! I also highly recommend OEM (ZF) seals and fluid. I ended up having to redo my work down the road as the parts I used were aftermarket and leaked.

    Do you need both the flash license and the map pack? So better to buy the flash combo right ?

      Depending on what license you buy, it comes with a flash or all of them.

      But the whole pack. It’s worth it so that way you have way more options to learn your trans.

    There’s a stage 4. Why is 3 most aggressive?

      Stage 4 is a super aggressive map for auto mode only.

      You should get both at the same time! But it is not really that crucial, your car will be ok if you have MHD and not this.

      In france we map 25d 30d and 35d, I’m pretty sure you can do it

    Hey man, I have a E90 330D im going on alongshot asking this but whenever im in drive and give about 60/70% throttle it goes down to 5th gear and instantly back to 6 and sometimes to 4th gear
    what could be the cause of this. I have the XHP stage 3 on the transmission

      @@murph7501 Yeah my 330D has the xhp software. It has the zf6hp gearbox i believe

      definitely due to the holes in the hood. I have a turbosmart BOV that sounds the exact same when my hood is open but is muffled by the regular hood when it’s closed.

      @@Kamshaft was debating over hks charge + ssqv or just getting the cheapo pipe that comes with a fake tial and getting a real tial later.
      You 100% made up my mind with this video lol. That ssqv sounds so damn good. Been about 8 years since I had one (the sqv v3 had just come out recently, and hadn't been faked yet)

    you have 335i awd or 335 rwd?

      It’s a 335xi but tuned with X-delete so AWD/RWD can be configured at any time.

    Xhp took my money then telling me bs that they need to to process the payment and need photo of my idea then telling me that I have to wait until sometime in the week before they can fulfill the payment and then give me the license I heard about them I should have listened n not pay for the xhp crap because my car it good but just wanted to give it a try on the car for a drive to Atlanta over the weekend but that’s not gonna happen n tbh I really don’t that I want there app anymore more I amma request a refund so if u think your gonna make the purchase on the weekend r holiday and think your gonna get the license for there app or any help on the weekend thing again no happening

      While I’d agree with you because I enjoy manual more than Auto and I’ve owned ONLY manual. I myself have a 6 speed 328i. The automatic in the 335i is better because it keeps you in boost when you really get on it, it’s faster because of that.

    I got an HKS BOV + VRSF charge pipe but it’s not loud at all. Is it possible to adjust the spring rate or something? Or is it because I am not tuned? I was also thinking I may have a vacuum leak. Not sure though

      100% cause you are not tuned. Tune=more BOOST! More BOOST= more cool turbo sounds. I have also flashed my car back to stock and the noises it makes are not even comparable.

      @@Kamshaft hey, i have stg3 Trans map also, but i have much vibration on shift, really agressive "clutch dumping" feeling. Do you have same?

      @@freemail6284 when I first flashed the car it shifted really heard for the first 50km or so, you supposed to let the TECU “adapt” for a bit.

      @Kamshaft 3-4-3-4-5-4-3??that was so painful to watch man.just put it in 1st gear Rev it 2nd 3rd then 4th gear Rev it out from a dig.do the same before and after so you can see a clear difference
