THE KING AND I costume designer Catherine Zuber on taking a realistic approach to the classic musical and avoiding looking like a Disney princess. Развлечения
wow. so much detail went into those costumes. too bad its not easily seen on the stage! :(
nevertheless, this was captivating to learn about. the costumes are breathtaking.
I am seeing the national tour in a few weeks.
This show needs to be done on Broadway where they have the money to make the costumes like these. Anywhere else they're just going to be half-assed and tacky. Loved the fresh modern approach in this production. The smallest details make the biggest differences.
Maybe it’ll happen 20 years down the road. Also I thought the production was beautiful when I saw it back in March.
Loving all designs a lot ♥ The ball gown turned out beautifully despite that previous colour dilemma. :D If only I lived closer...
Ms. Zuber's costumes look absolutely stunning. I've seen her previous work in South Pacific and the NBC productions of Sound of Music and Peter Pan.
LOL "It reminded us of Belle's ball gown in Beauty and the Beast!"
Donna Murphy's ball gown in the 96 revival as Anna looked like it too.
amazing!
The production itself was amazing

How to succeed in business
I never seen that production but those costumes for Brotherhood of Men were impressive. I don’t even live in NYC.
In reality there is fabrics you can get .
"Hi, my name is Catherine Zuber and I'm the type of lady that's mean to the barista at Starbucks"
nah, Catherine Zuber is a very nice woman. She may not be perky or something like that, but she's a very kind person.
Crinolines rather than hoops
Interesting information, but it looks like she just rolled out of bed - really?
Why do Americans pronounce Anna, Ah_nah? It’s so pretentious
