Robo. This is why we love you broski. Never be ashamed of being a toy man because fun is fun and getting too old to care what others nonsense takes are!
Oh definitely, I am WAY past getting ashamed. If I was I wouldn't have ever put my face out there, ya know? Just got caught offguard with all the sudden comments from people trying to make themselves feel better by being shitty on the internet. Hate to tell them but they ain't cornering any markets, and they can't tear this toy loving old fool down.
Its also a great way to filter out people at social gatherings. Just bring it up casual then when some asshole starts nutting off you can go "ah asshole" zoop, move on.
This is my first viewing of a 'playday'.... AWESOMENESS!! I love seeing custom work, doing custom work. Some of my favourite are what I call micro customs where you just do a small change but it improves the figure no end, like your Wolverine claws and your archer elbow. Love the channel brother and Enjoy your toys.
Even though it's meant to be smaller, I love how varied this play day is! Good beginner level stuff like removing the cellshading and adding the matte finish to Cyclops, but what you did with the D&D figure is really clever and waaaaay too scary for me to do. Grizzly looks awesome, I might have to look into doing one of those, since I have all of your problems with painting as well, but you made it sound doable. I'd love a full-on Brood X-Men team, maybe pit them against my regular X-Men line-up as an alternate universe fight or something. Screw those random "how dare you have fun with your harmless hobby" people. They can go back to being public nuisances for clout. Great video, Robo. Excited to see more bite-sized play days!
I felt a little better painting the Grizzly head because it's bigger, I could actually get my old eyes and shaky hands in there to do a semi-decent job. Anything smaller though and it's power showing white eyes and masks that cover eyebrows, haha! And yeah, it was a shock at first, suddenly getting a rash of Facebook level dumbass comments, then I realized what was happening. Sad. They have nothing else going on so they gotta try to tear others down. Not on this channel MOTHERFU.....!!!!/??!!
I REALLY admire your passion of your action figure channel to the point of breaking the 'embarrasment' wall. I'm a 56 year old Nerd myself, have a real job, make descent $ to support my fam.&send kids to college, etc. But most of the people I know peers, friends, etc.woukd NOT understand my passion such as yours. I get it...we do this for ourselves and not anybody else but you've taken it to another level by showcasing it on yiur channel. Bravo for your bravery and passion! I hope to be as bold as you one day....juss sayin'.
What I love about this type of video you do is that it works for my 3.75 scale figs too. Thank you! EVERYONE collects something and if it's not needed for basic survival...... it's a toy too..... They just don't want to admit it.
For someone who says that they can’t paint custom heads etc you’ve done one hell of an awesome job here, you should definitely give yourself way more credit Robo, I certainly couldn’t produce the kind of detailed finish that you have, hats off to you dude, excellent work!🤩👏🏼👍🏼👋🏼
Haha, it's just that I can pick out all the little rough edges and such, and I can never be totally happy with my own work. But I'm way better at accepting my skill level than I used to be and not nitpick my own work to death. Progress!
@@TheFwoosh YEEESSSSSSSS!!!👍🏼 You replied to one of my many inane, rambling comments, I can die a happy man!😉🤣 Joking aside, thanks Robo, absolutely love the channel, infact I almost blame you personally (in the very best way possible!!!👏🏼) for getting me into collecting!!………and I’m SO glad that I did!!🫶🏼 Awesome reviews, amazing content, and fantastic insight into customisation etc: Your reviews tick all the boxes, looking forward to Sunday night in the hope that I might learn more about upcoming Mcfarlane Nolan Trilogy releases!🙏🏻…..and as always, I’ll always catch you on the Fwoosh.✊🏼👍🏼👋🏼
I always enjoy your paydays. They capture what it's all about, hobby, imagination and of course pure fun. I'm a 3.75 guy who cherry picks a few 6 inch. Please continue the greatness.
Truly one of the greatest things I've gotten from yu and your Playdates? MR. HOBBY MR.SUPER CLEAR! When you first mentioned that you were using it to cut down the "plasticly" look to the figures, I knew I had to try it. I got my Mr. Hobby Mr. Super Clear off of Amazon and I've been a spraying FOOL now! I've been hitting EVERYTHING with it-SW Black, GI Joe Classified, Marvel Legends, figures and accessories! Sucha difference... ESPECIALLY with an old ML figure- Maverick. It has helped so much cutting down the gold, swirly-twirly gold plastic! Thanks, Robo!
Love your videos Fwoosh, been watching for years, love the sentiment about not letting people discourage you bout your hobbies. I really had to cut down on what I get due to small space. will likely be getting 1 more smallish ben for excess figures (have 2 already) and call it there so now I'm really curating my collection to only certain characters I'm really attached to and have something to do with my childhood. I will say though that I just pulled the trigger on a Beef Boss because I love how you have fun with him in videos, can't wait to get him and do some silly scene poses with some other figures. Keep up the good work and being a bright beacon for the collecting hobby. Hopefully one day I can get either a larger house or one with a large basement so I can proudly display more of my stuff, such is the dream. Look forward to more of your videos.
That Zero the Hutt and Brood Wolverine are awesome, but Beef Bot/B-800 was the standout for me. The outfit reminds me of Back to the Future 2 or all those other various films and shows where their take on the future includes really colorful and goofy fashion. It's like he tried to blend in with the future, failed, came back to the present with his disheveled look and is just 'I don't wanna talk about it!' when he shows up through a time portal at the council of Beef Bosses.
That Johnny 5 looks SO cool! Can't believe there hasn't been a good 1/12 scale figure of him released yet. Also can't wait to see your finished results with it.
I just learned that Windor Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer to remove the cell shading. Worked great and didn't damage the plastic. Tried alcohol and it was taking forever to scrub off.
🦖: What Robo said in the end. "Don't let anyone tear you down for enjoying your hobby." I agree with this!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 & it's something I already live by.~ 🙏🏻❤️ You're a sweet dude Robo. 🙏🏻 Keep on truckin' homie.~ & I'll do the same. 👍🏻
Man I love me some custom items. Got me an awesome joker head sculpt. Bought a mezco joker body, and a suit. Going to make a joes garage joker. With his skin mask look. Damn, customising makes it so fun. Plus, when im working on a fig, I always put on a fwoosh video. Old or new, a weekly. Playday, review, doesnt matter. Just love hearing robo talk passionate about the hobby
That wolverine brood figure is sick, love it. and you're right Robo, no one should tell anyone how to enjoy a hobby. I'm 54, and love collecting figures , it's just fun.
For the dnd Hank I boiled the elbow area and tucked the upper forearm under the upper arm sculpt. It works better than stock but not as good an angle as yours.
Robo, I got a tip from a top Gundam customizer in my country. She told her audience to use lukewarm water for a few minutes before shaking Mr. Hobby Flat Matte. The heat helps the liquid in a better condition for spray. I tried it, and it worked wonders.
Very cool! I just got a black series death trooper and this makes me want to try and paint the visor to have the green pop a little more haha. Small project, but I'm excited to try . Thanks for the video!
I'm sure you probably heard it, but I wash my figures in warm soapy water before I paint anything. Just to remove all that oily stuff from the factory. Then hit it with your martte spray.
Robo you are the best. Thank for not only reviewing that damn beautiful Ziro, but having the decorum to avoid attempting the sketchy, problematic Truman Capote voice. 😆
The Watcher really just there like: 🙃
How could you not love Robo, so passionate about the hobby
Aw, I appreciate that. I'm just trying to have some fun, ya know?
Robo should be the mascot of the toy collecting hobby. He’s so positive and light hearted.
That Brood Wolverine! Hits that X-Men spot!
It does, it's one of those itches that I didn't know I needed scratched until I saw the print on eBay, then I knew I had to have it.
It's the same for me I've seen some head sculpts on Ebay for "Immortal Hulk/Abomination" those are screaming just buy me already!
Best xmen cover ever!!!
Always love Robo’s energy and joy when playing with toys. Infectious!

Thanks for the tip on the shaking of the matte spray, as I'm new to dulling the shine on figs, I don't want to make any "Wookie" mistakes 😀.
I see what you did there, you sly dog...
I felt weirdly encouraged by this play day. Thanks for being you, Robo!
Grab some parts and pieces and paints and jump in, the water is fine!
Cyclops came out amazing great job!
That Beef Boss variant is amazing! The Beef Boss-iverse grows.
These are so much fun to watch.
That bear guy and the brood wolverine, chef kiss

At first I thought that Grizzly was an entirely new Marvel Legend. Kudos on the excellent paint job!
That "dull-coat trick" has saved more than a few figures in my collection from the "parts box"
Yeah, that's why the shine doesn't really bother me any more. Just spray, done, on the shelf.
@@TheFwoosh This has nothing to do with that, I'm just Super Excited, I just got processing notice for Warduke! and had to tell someone.

I used to be a Testors Dullcote man, for many years, and it works, but Mr. Hobby Mr. Super Clear is the next level.
Not a sponsor.
The end was genius! 😂
I picture Robo spraying his figures with the matt finish like: Mr. Hobby himself will carry you to Valhalla. Ride eternal, matt and dull
I dig your style Rob. Thank you for making the fun.
'Robo'
That's a great looking Cyclops figure.
Great work around on that dungeons and dragons figure.
YO! I legit had a spit take and then Laughed out Loud when you showed the D&D arm mod 🤣. Gives a custom noob like me some hope. Great work!
I'm in love with that brood wolverine.
Awesome! Loved it. Keep up the great work.
AS ALWAYS...LOVE YA & THE POSITIVE ENERGY (ROBO)....KEEP IT PUSHING :)
I think we all have a handful of paints from when we went out and bought every color X - and you never end up using anything you just bought.
Good grief, that is so true.
That was awesome! Can’t wait too see Johnny 5 ……. Alive! 😂

I had that wolverine comic in eighth grade cool read, graphic design
Yeah, the Brood were always my favorite back then. Heck, still.
Love the adjustment on the Dungeness & Dragons. Imagination is the key to our action figures. Kool review 😎
Conan took the Cyclops look. 😄
I love these videos! They’re always so freaking good
Dayum, that wolverine-brood tho. Holy molee!
8:50 punch who?! It's February for FWOOSH SAKE!!
hahahaha That Brood Wolverine looks outstanding!
YA FWOOSH!!
the skin-o-max theme music gets me every time 🤣
Mr Hobby also makes a great Semi-Gloss clear as well.
I have the gloss but don't use it near as much. I loooooooooove a good matte finish.
The matte is awesome, and I use it all the time. Oh, and I wasn't referring about the gloss instead the "semi-gloss' which is tougher to find.
Play days are always the best
Thank you Uncle Fwoosh!
Ziro the Hutt looks great and B-1000 sounds nice also I'm glad Cyclops probably enjoy the cleaning👌🏾lol
whenever i see a beef boss in the wild, I always hear your voice in my head!
These are great customs
Fun Play Day! Nice mods, especially Hank's arm and the Wolverine claws. 👍👍 Love the positively at the end. 🙌 Keep rockin' the hobby!
GREAT CUSTOMS!
Always enjoy your videos Robo, good mix of stuff, thanks for sharing, very cool

Damn that Cyclops is Dope AF! Love the 90’s uni and visor. Imagine how dope it would be if they had a replaceable head that was shooting a beam?
I just learned that Windor Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer to remove the cell shading. Worked great and didn't damage the plastic. Tried alcohol and it was taking forever to scrub off.
What a surprise at the end of the video a Johnny 5 robot! Can't wait to see you paint that up. Sneak it into a star wars shelf.
Best, hobby ever! And I only wish my basement was that decked out with awesome fun figures!
Same here, would love to have a basement full of toys!
The beef buddies team is really filling out.
it's the start, of something new..
Keep up the great vids, Robo
Love that Major Ursa custom!! 😍

MAN THAT'S AN AWESOME BEEF BOSS!!
A great day to play and doesn't matter how old you are
I would love to see a montage of you painting the man in a bear suit! Or any other figure!
I am so slow and shaky and I gotta have my face right on the figure with a pair of magnifiers, it doesn't make for very exciting footage, haha.
@@TheFwoosh aawwww! I see. They came out great anyways though!
Warm the can up in some Luke warm water also Robo, for better flow.

I love your Play Days, Robo! Some of my fave vids!
winsor and newton brush cleaner works great for removing the paint shade
FUCK YEAH!!!
i enjoyed this
I think you can dilute your acetone by adding a little water directly to it. Should make it less harsh and give you more control over it.
Nice
Try Windsor & Newton Brush Cleaner and Restorer to remove paint. That’s what I use. It’s far more gentle on the plastic. 4:28
Very cool! I just got a black series death trooper and this makes me want to try and paint the visor to have the green pop a little more haha. Small project, but I'm excited to try . Thanks for the video!
Oooo, with that I'd try a translucent green of some kind, just to tint it without going full green. Now I wanna dig out mine...
@@TheFwoosh awesome thanks! I’m not much of a collector, but as I get more into figures it’s crazy how far they’ve come since I was a kid haha
Maybe, "Any Way you can play, is a good day"
Big thumbs up for the Johnny Cash reference at 10:10.
that hank hand reveal cracked me up hahahaha love your vids as always, Robo
Removed my cel shading too. Just used my finger nail polish remover. 💅
Yeah, same.
Steve O in a bear suit 😆
