Krrsantan looks like a $10 toy. How Hasbro allows itself to sell this is beyond me
That's their MO now. The latest BAF waves have a lot of figs that look like happy meal toys that they are selling to us for $27.
Kind of an insult to Lanard's AVP line. $10 gets you a more accurate sculpt and better paint!
@@Clay3613 That's true, I like paying 27-30$ for my NECA stuff because you can actually see the effort they put into the figure's sculpt and paint. Part of me also wishes Todd to bump up the prices of his standard DC Multiverse line to around 25$ because its kind of a shame to see his fantastic sculpts be paired with a lot of missing paint details.

Doctor Aphra would be a good publishing rerelease, considering how rare she was in the wild and how much she's going for on the secondary market

I have no attachment to He-Man but these new Eternia figures have me excited. I’m generally not a Mattel collector but these guys look great!

Really glad thsi format is back. The alternate formats are my favorite. When I found your channel the play days, figure or fodder, and comparisons were the first that binged. But of course I came back and watched all the traditional reviews too.

It is my first time seeing this figure vs. fodder type of Fwoosh content. Gosh, I like it a lot! It helps me decide when I am on the fence about figures I probably like and dislike equally.
I'm sorry to say that your Nekron scythe lantern is crooked, as the top should be straight up and down. A crooked lantern does fit that character, though. Also I really hope Hasbro is working on classic wasp and Ant Man/Giant Man, because the 20th Iron Man would be perfect to recreate the Avengers #4 cover where Cap is unfrozen.

I wasn't planning on going too far into the McFarlane toys DC stuff, mostly just that initial Dark Knights Metal lineup, but that Necron and Bane are tempting.

The only one of these figures I have is the Masterverse New Eternia Beast Man. I got him alongside Masterverse King Grayskull and the NECA Snake Alien. I love all three figures.
I would have tried the heat gun on Nekron's lantern/scythe, the finial is just bent a bit. I don't know that the scythe blade is lantern energy construct, but that would explain why it's not metallic.
I'm big on the New Eternia Beast Man, though I was also going for classic look too, probably never gonna use the headdress thing. I did tweaks on mine though, cut/glued the arm armor so it is tighter and stays in place better, and I didn't like how much the shoulders stick out from the torso, so I cracked him open to work on that, and did some paint touch-ups on the face so there wasn't blue on his teeth. I'm definitely all-in on further New Eternia figures, that upcoming Zodac looks awesome

I actually bought the Iron Man, at the Hasbro Sale so it was normal price, for the Charles Bronson looking Tony Stark head! I am going to make a Paul Kersey out of it, and just got a body for it.

I like that these Beastman figures are so different from one another. Means you can pretty easily treat them as separate characters.

Because my entire DC collection is McFarlane, it hurts me to hear Nekron is fodder, especially because he's on my Most Wanted list. I have no knowledge of the line before McFarlane took over the license aside from one or two Joker figures my ex bought me so I never had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the other incarnations of the characters. I think this is the only time i've ever disagreed with an opinion you've had. We all have our preferences I suppose. Great video though. I definitely think you should bring the segment back.
And I'd love some more Play Days.
I really like that Nekron. It bumped the DC Direct version from my display mostly due to sheer size. I plan on adding some chrome paint touches to his legs and boots to complete the look.

Huh. Santo looks better than I was expecting, but I agree he could use some paint. Maybe highlights on the fur or some metallic paint on the harness. I like how he looks with Aphra and might pick him up if I see a deal.
I think you turned me around on Krrsantan. I will definitely wait for a sale when I am usually a pre-order guy for TBS, but I will get him. He'll also be a fun experiment to try my hand at drybrushing! Thanks, Robo!

Rhino: I customed an extra BAF into Tusk. Other than the cracked hide, it works. Mod the head into a flat top, mini-fodder some Tuskettes, and you’re good to go.
DCUC Nekron has a red chest cavity. Not too fond of McF screaming face. McF has height over DCUC, but even tho he’s basically got two main appearances (Tales of GLC debut, BN), he’s not an Essential for me.

My Nekron Scythe has the same crooked top. Maybe it's meant to be but the old DC Direct version didn't have that.

I caved and just ordered the 20th anniversary Iron Man. I had been reading the 60s Marvel comics to start getting into the universe, and so far I've read to where Hawkeye was introduced. Right before he starts sharing Tales of Suspense with Captain America. So for me, this horned head suit is my Iron Man. I just love Stan's more heroic yet tragic Tony. So having this Iron Man to pair up with the 20th anniversary Captain America I just got is a must have! Now if Marvel Legends can just make some classic designed Iron Man villains like Melter, Crimson Dynamo, Mandarin, Scarecrow, Unicorn, etc.

The secret to opening Marvel Retro Card figures, is that plastic bulge at the base. There's a gap between it and the card board, and if you stick your finger in there and pull, it'll peel off the card no sweat.
I agree with you on the Figures. Necron I passed because I have a DC Direct that I'm okay with. The Black K , I was going to get and if I see him on sale maybe but I think I will wait for a BOBF version. Rhino awesome, Iron Man I disagree but I'm a huge fan of the classic so I understand your opinion on it . Beast man , the more I see it the more I want it but trying to not get sucked into another line.. I already have a few but I'm keeping myself from doing more.

12:16 I don't know whether to laugh, or to feel slightly unnerved by that.
I had a bootleg Diamond Select Rhino on my shelf for a while, the paint was sloppy and the plastic looked ugly and inconsistent in quality, but he was at the back of my display and was a fine stand-in. I replaced it in a heartbeat when that new one was revealed, and even though I wish the torso tapered a little at the waist (sure Rhino's chunky but not that chunky) I love that thing. There's a lot of presence to him especially with the faces, the photo-real does so much for that figure.
Now having that and, at least here in the UK this is the case, the Retro Lizard releasing in just two days, Hasbro's covered most of the core classic Spider-Man villains in their classic looks. Still waiting on an updated Chameleon though, and I'm not entirely certain that Hasbro's given us a be-all end-all Venom, AND I think the main 2 Goblins could use some work still with maybe some new bodies, better gliders, and a better head for Hobgoblin.
I have a genuine Marvel Select Rhino and like it, but it always left a paint residue on my fingers when I messed with it so it went in a box and I haven't seen it in a while. Like, the paint would rub off and have a glitter quality to it? Was weird.
@@TheFwoosh The only situation I've encountered somewhat like that is with NECA figures. Sometimes the paints are just plain sticky, especially for their flame effects that are on glossier plastic where I think I've encountered it multiple times. I think it was the original release of Kane from Alien that had a green wash to it in parts for almost a rust effect, straight up wasn't dry when I took it out of the box.
This is a real dumb question to ask But can waterslide decals work on Marvel legends ? I'm asking for X-Men custom
Santa suit in scale and have a Hulk could recreate that cover where Rhino was playing Santa and Hulk caused a fight to happen. Have to crack my Rhino open still.
