That Marvel vs Capcom 2 Cable is the standout for me. I just wish he came with accurate weapons instead of recycled guns.
The crazy thing is that I was introduced to the Cable with shoulder pads first but for some reason MvC2 Cable’s costume is the definitive look for me.
@@mrdude88 To be fair the MvC2 costume is the one that he wore for almost the entirety of the 90's. The big shoulder pads was a very short period of time at the front end of the 90's.

Tip on the Black Winter. When I first got my Herald Thor I had the same problem. You just have to push the ring for the shoulder pad out and push the peg in with some pressure. I think the shoulder pad prevents it from going in all the way.

In an era filled with overindulgence, Cable is 90s excess done right!
Ka-Zar and Zabu look amazing together, spectacular figures!!
Towards the end of Cable and Deadpool, Cable had a subdued version of this outfit that was black, brown, and silver, no trunks.
And in the Loeb/Churchill run, well... Churchill changed the design nearly every issue. But around issues 30-35, Cable had a busier version of this. And X-Men 97 had a slight variation on this suit that was essentially the Mezco figure design.
He's worn enough SIMILAR costumes with a few color changes that Hasbro's gonna get their money's worth.
I'm a fan in general of the game stuff like this and modular War Machine and the big one they have yet to do is a Rogue variation.
The characters in those games always had like six color schemes but, for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Rogue's primary look in the game and cutscenes was the Jim Lee costume in green and white, no yellow. It's kind of neat because it makes the Jim Lee suit look more like, well... most of her non-Jim Lee costumes.
Beyond that, there's an orange Hulk that was a hidden character, a hidden U.S. Agent that's Captain America in gray/white/blue, and a hidden Mephisto that's Blackheart in red. I don't necessarily see those getting done as hidden characters and kind of weird, although maybe Blackheart would need a second use the next time we get him. We need a Blackheart. And Hasbro never passes up a Hulk recolor.
But, essentially, the white and green Jim Lee Rogue is the only sprite based main color scheme variant left. Although Marrow, Blackheart, and a Sentinel slightly bigger than Colossus are also remaining Capcom oddballs Hasbro hasn't done. And they might want to rerelease Onslaught, who was playable and who gaming collectors might have missed. They like to reissue BAFs as deluxes and in two packs.
That's essentially your roadmap of Capcom homages Hasbro might do if that's a collector they're courting.
Oh! And Shuma Gorath. But I've heard the Howard estate might have claimed the character outright for Conan due a contract thing. (Not unlike how DC is claiming Machine Man now.)
That articulated sabertooth is AMAZING!

The best figures from this wave are Zabu, Ka-Zar, Black Winter and Cable (MVC2)! EMPHASIS on Zabu and Ka-Zar! The power to make any custom with those figures is incredible! :)
Never thought I needed a Zabu figure until right now.
Same, I didn't even know who Zabu was before this wave was released, but he's awesome.
My Cable is missing the yellow bracelet thingy from his metal arm. I didn't notice it until I had it for a few days, but I didn't realize what was wrong with it. I just thought the wrist of the metal arm looked off. So I stuck the bullet bracelet/leather bullet cuff thing from my extra Rock N' Roll on it, and I like it better than how it was supposed to look.
Cable's straps thing is AMAZING

Robo, I blame you for my addiction to the Jurassic World Dinosaurs line. Ever since you suggested that Ka Zar could be put on a shelf with a bunch of the dinosaurs lining shelves lately... Well, a new line was born to be collected lol

Ka-Zar should have come with one extra screaming head and those cuts on arms should have been avoided. Cable is sweet, just wished it came with big guns more futuristic. Zabu is pure love. :)

Fr tho that Red Widow works for some nice customizing.
I liked the subtle warning after the 2nd pronunciation of Ka-Zar even though I already knew by that point that it was coming. Robo, Random was in that version of X-Factor for a while so you could add him to the display too.
Would have liked a more Larry Stroman Wolfsbane for that period of X-Factor, with his wilder design 😁
Ikaris would be great for a movie Flash Gordon custom. I'm thinking about doing it .

I cut the lower cape off of red widow so she's wearing a short poncho instead. Improves mobility a lot!
Man that Cable looks excellent. I just wish the stubble wasn't as pronounced. I prefer my Cable clean shaven, at least in that costume.
Icarus is an absolute must buy for me.
Kazaar and iron Man are a wait for a sale, aka, leave it to fate.
Agree about Iron Man, if I ever get it. Ka-Zar has been high on my list for years though.

I like Robo doing every Legends wave like was pre pandemic. It's fun to see you go over all of them at once. I think I skip so many waves cause all my fav RUclipsrs cherry pick now (And for good reason)
Cable looks awesome, wish he had yellow, or brown gloves.

This is a typical Legends Wave for me - One I must have, some I might get, some I won't, and the BAF would be nice.
I have Wolfsbane on pre-order, but after watching this video, I think I'll be getting Ikaris and Ka-Zar too (Zabu reminds of an Aurora model kit I put together many, many decades ago, so maybe I'll look for parts for him in a few months' time...😃).
Also...I still need the Cable which comes with baby Hope in the chest pouch. (with big guns) :D

I was trying to custom Savage(?) He-Man into Thundarr. Couldn’t find the right vest. Someone suggested New Eternia Beast Man vest, but his fur is glued into the harness. 🤦♂️

Robo saved up years worth of bad takes and released them all in that Cable review. Outstanding.

My problem with Wolfsbane is her color... she's super orange and she should be more red-brown. With as orange as she is. it makes me wonder what color the eventual Feral figure will be... since she actually IS orange in the comics.

Robo, Ka-Zar has a Vibranium knife. The Savage Land carries Vibranium B so he crafts his weapons out of Vibranium. I covered his story in my review if you want to know more about him.

Had been thinking of getting Ka-Zar to make a He-Man and was really wanting to see Ikaris' head on his body after I saw someone suggest it online. Thank you so much for not only showing that but also with the sword and on Battle Cat too! Just need to see what fits over the chest since I sold my Origins one, so I can't check if that works on a legends body, and figure out what to do about the belt.

As always, great episode and review! I ended up canceling all but Cable and Wolfsbane. I have to start being more picky. I want Ka-Zar (maybe 2) because it looks like a great body for customs and I think his headvwould make a better Sentry. But if I got him for him being Kazar, I would have to have the baf, and than a bunch of figures i am not interested in.
Tempted to get Ka-zar and display with Bobby from the D&D cartoon figures.

Red Widow - I’m clueless on her, too, but I’m seeing many Lady Deadpool or even Alpha Flight’s Nemesis customs coming. 98% same outfit. Nemesis just needs her cutlass.
(And I never did make that pirate ghost guy that possessed Snowbird’s kid! I even bought extra Pirate Deadpool for him!)
Wolfsbane - this body with the NM head/hands works great. I still have the old ToyBiz NM mutating version who is still in my display.
Repaint Timber brown and we have her shape shifting taken care of!
Cable - I’ve seen several bare armed customs using Hercules’, Thunderstrike’s, or AoA Creed’s right arm.
Ikaris - I still with the movie line was two waves with same names, just mixed between comic and MCU. I’d bet good money this guy has been sitting on a shelf, and when they realized the strikes last year meant no MCU in 24, they started scrambling for figures.
Ka-Zar - why does He-Man get all the attention when Thundarr only had ONE figure in the 90s at SunCoast?
Or even just the OG Lord Greystoke, himself? Throw a long-haired Bucky head on him!
ZABU - I just hope I see this wave! Well, besides the sole Ikaris I saw at GameStop last week.
Otherwise, I’ve got extra Battle Cats that are gonna get a blonde/tawny makeover!
At least he’ll make a better ZABU than that one-and-done dino-fighters line from Lanard a few years back. I grabbed the Sabretooth set from that ONLY to have a mini-Zabu! Maybe he can be Zabu Jr, now?
Iron Man - so apparently his backstory comes from the good is bad is good is bad switch from AXIS, a decade back? Tony’s armor protected him at the end, so he stayed evil? I’ve seen more complaints about the color, as many thought it was silver with BRIGHT WHITE highlights?
Someone even made a Tom Cruise face for theirs, his backstory he was off planet when MoM happened and he now hunts the multiverse for MCU Strange for revenge? Ok then!

The Black Winter is a cosmic entity that fulfils a similar purpose to Galactus on a far larger scale - rather than simply devouring planets, it consumes entire universes. Galactus used to be his herald. It was revealed in 2020's Thor #4 by Donny Cates and Nic Klein
I wasn't sure about this wave being a mixbag of characters from every corner of the marvel universe due fact I am used see a specific wave for specific character( i.e Spider-Man, iron man , Deadpool)but it quickly grew on me, I kinda want more of this waves now

I wonder if the idea for Cable was to have his right arm exposed bare and selected that arm sculpt for that, but later had to reallocate some budget and decided to just keep it cast in plain blue. Probably couldn't change it as the metal arm is obviously based around the general form of the flesh one.

29:07 Judging by those heights, these figures are more "7-inch scale" than 6-inch. Even Wolfsbane is over 6 inches (6 feet tall).
The he-man custom swap customizable customization is somewhere between awesome, badass and completely fartworthy 😂❤

Man I remember the San Diego Kazar, Shanna, and Zabu. Shanna is still on my shelf mainly to aggravate my wife cause of her costume but she's such a skinny figure, and pale. Zabu was TERRIBLE. They did that GI Joe Sigma Six thing with jagged edges for hair. I've been meaning to try to just sculpt hair over the joints but the head is all wrong and I don't the skill to make it look correct. Glad to get a new Kazar. No idea where my old one is.
hey Robo , how do you feel about Wolfsbane not being able to crunch forward at the waste?? when you did the swivel at the waste it made it look like she has a good forward crunch but mine has ZERO forward crunch only a back tilt but it duz swivel quite well. the zero forward crunch and the fact the legs don't really go strait forward much at the hips mean very limited posability. i was very disappointed with her figure. also i actually like the face on the "original" better but the hair on the new one is way better.
A game I often play is "see how many different ways Robo can pronounce Mafex in the same video." Today that was Ka-Zar haha

For black winter something similar happened with me but for x men 97 bishop with his shoulder easily popping out dont know if its a qc issue or not 🤷
I was a day late to a GameStop store that had Cable. Now, they're all gone.
