The men in that family are incredibly weak and 100% deserve this. The OP invited his family to his wedding knowing they were absolutely trash. Its ignorant to think you can roll around in trash and come out smelling like roses.
Exactly right. Can you imagine using a new family member's wedding to abuse her to see what kind of a reaction you would get? Did these women never grow up?
Straight up hazing. They got harassed when they joined the family and are now taking it out on someone else, who is then expected to become a bully for the sake of “tradition”
There was a story similar to that, where op’s mother in law showed up at the wedding in a wedding dress but op thought ahead and changed the attire where the bridesmaids where wearing white dresses and op she was wearing a pink wedding dress. The look on the mother in law’s face was priceless and op’s fiancé laughed his head off. Glad to know the guy wasn’t a mama’s boy.
Story 1: Talk about toxic bullies bordering on sociopathic, controlling behavior. Those women playing childish, gatekeeping games instead of acting like adults, have no respect for boundaries and social norms, nor any any respect for OP and his bride/wife. Story 3: I laughed. Speaking as an IT guy myself, I recommend never, ever trying to screw your IT guy.
@@kermitthegdfrog8029 Anything besides a common noun like men or women LMAO. Saying that makes you a sexist regardless of which gender you are 💀 No, this is not targeting you, just talking about the first guy I replied to
First story. NTA. OP set a boundary and the women in the family chose not to respect it. If they cannot find it within themselves to respect OP of his wife on the wedding day, they certainly wont show respect on any other day either.
Yeah, those aren't pranks, nor is it teasing. It straight up emotional and mental abuse. They bully every new girl in the family, and then when they get away with it, they are like, "You're part of the family now," that beyond toxic and manipulative in nature. They're not testing the waters or seeing if they are a good match for the family they just want an excuse to bully and abuse every new girl to get a reaction out of them. Then, manipulate them into joining in on it cause it means they're part of the family. The family members in story 1 are the Jerks not the husband he did right by defending his wife from the cruelty of his mom. They're bullies looking for excuse to justify their toxic behavior
Agreed. Those women clearly haven't grown into adults. They are nothing more than pathetic children wanting attention during an occassion which doesn't have anything to do with them. Weddings are about the bride & groom becoming one. It's their day. To plan a so-called "prank" like this is DISRESPECTFUL.
I remember another where they ruined this plan by having ALL their guests wear their own wedding attire. So every woman there was wearing her wedding dress and the "pranksters" "prank" was ruined. Satisfying.
Story 1: op, you’re not the jerk. These women are nothing but a bunch of bullies. Teasing and pranking others is NOT the way to welcome someone into a family. They’re wrong for wearing white to the wedding especially after you’ve asked them not to. That was rude and disrespectful and they disrespected and ignored your boundaries. Your brother did the right thing warning you about what they’ll do. You should’ve uninvited them to stay on the safe side.
story 1: I'd tell them that my girlfriend (I'm married, but in the context of it starting during dating) has trauma related to bullying and that if they pull that crap it wouldn't be taken as a prank or joke. That she would internalize it, and I'd cut off any and all contact. If they still insisted, I'd go through with my threat. I'd make it plainly obvious that anyone who so much as said an unwarranted rude word to her would be, for all intents and purposes, dead to me. Show up to my wedding wearing white? I didn't ruin my day, YOU did, dearest mother. Now begone and never contact me again.
Story #1. The fact that these women were willing to ruin someones wedding over their prank is concerning to say the least. All of the time, money, effort and emotion invested in a wedding and they choose this time to bully a toung bride, you need to ghost them. Im curious to know what HER family thought of this "prank".
Story 1 - So let me gets this straight. These Beaches Bullied the hell out of that poor Girl, even have the BALLS to wear all White which is a total disrespect to the Bride, and then the Mother has the BALLS to ask Op and the Wife to apologise for what the Mother and all the Women did? Op, mate. You Need to cut ties with your Family, make them understand that PRANKS are not funny, and what they did was outright bullying.
I'm sorry, but you're supposed to be the "mother of the groom", NOT a sorority sister who's hazing the wife to be as a way of being a "newbie" to the family.
Story #1 NTJ- You warned them. They had a chance. They flubbed it! Go NC for now until they understand. Might take a while. Usually, when grandbaby comes along.
In the first/title story the OP is most assuredly *NOT* the arsehole. The female members of his family *ARE* the arseholes. As they had apparently been warned multiple times first *NOT* to tease his girlfriend, then his fiancé, then wife, or to "prank" her. *THEY* choose to disregard him und do so anyway. Thinking that he wouldn't make a scene at his own wedding. I don't believe that *ANY* of them "planned" on changing after the OP's fiancée saw them turn up in white. Instead of confronting the female members of his family himself. He should have had security to do it. Also hopefully there were security cameras at the venue und he could get pictures of all of them showing up in white to post online to counter their claims. They're just mad that before the OP that no one has stood up to them und *THEY* are now being held accountable for their actions.
Story 1: Wow, the women in this family.... if you even want to call them that, are nothing short of awful. There is absolutely no way that this was a "prank" or a "test" or "looking out for the men". It was them being the worst people they could possibly be. The OP had every right to kick them out of the wedding, and all those nasty women were warned ahead of time, and chose to do it anyways. OP and his new wife have absolutely nothing to apologize for here, and honestly, i say the OP put his foot down harder and go no contact with them. Maybe that will wake them up. Unlikely but it is what i would do. Story 2: Yeah i would've done the exact same thing here if that happened to me. While i get that some companies and agencies can get very busy and possibly backlogged, this was just sheer laziness on the companies side. Story 3: Wow, that Tony was a complete greasebag. He did everything in the book possible to try and screw over the OP. Good thing the OP didn't take this guys threats and intimidation and other crap for a second and actually got paid double. Good thing the OP went there with a constable too when they did... sounds like Tony was more then willing to turn things ugly there. Hopefully the OP has better clients going forward and Tony gets exposed for the big jerk he is and loses business.
Lol. If my wife had heard that her In laws was planning to wear what for her wedding she might have turned and wore red. 😂😂😂😂. Bc it's her favourite colour😂😂😂😂
It never was a prank, it was a test to see how much crap OP and his wife would take. Full no-contact may be the only way to get through. There's no way I'd let bitches like that around my kids.
Story 1: The women in the family (sans OP's wife) enjoy belittling and humiliating other women to feel a sense of superiority. It's not a "harmless prank" or "trying to see if she'll be a bridezilla", they wanted to bully her to feel better about themselves and to get their kicks. If I were OP I'd ask my mother, sisters, aunts, cousins, etc if they feel better proving to myself and my partner that they care more about humiliating us on what was meant to be our special day? Then I'd state that clearly they care more about bullying the women of the family than they have ever cared about me, because no one who actually loves someone would actively try to hurt them or the person they hold most dear, and going forward we will be going NC and LC with the women of the family because I didn't ever deserve to be hurt by them or watch my life partner be hurt by them, and I refuse to let them do it when they know full-well they are hurting us, it isn't harmless or just a bit of fun. They are all bullies and none of them deserve to be in our or our future childrens lives.
