I watched this movie when I was younger and I specifically remember the scene where 2's lifeless body is used by the spiderbabybot as a lure and stunner, I thought it was the coolest creepiest shit in the world
also the movie takes place in 1940 or 1930 somewhere in ww2 idk what country but I think germany the movie is about robots having there own mind and made humanity extinct somehow.
One time, I showed this movie to some of my cousins, and I remember one of them being absolutely terrified of the evil robots to the point where watching him react to the movie was more entertaining than actually rewatching it.
Why does everyone on RUclips say 9 is meant for children when it's very clearly not? The rating is a damn PG-13 & it's intentionally terrifying. Just because a film is animated, doesn't mean it's meant for children. With your logic, Fritz the Cat & Blood Plus-C are ideal entertainment to show in a kindergarten classroom.
I absolutely loved this movie as a child and still do as an adult. I blame it for my taste in most media leaning more dark and dystopian. Can't really explain my love for this movie. I must've been like 8 when I first watched it. It's one of my favorite comfort movies from my childhood, up there with Anastasia and The Secret of Kells.
Funny enough, I was scared of Anastasia as a kid, something about Rasputin didn't sit well with me...haha! Now I really enjoy it. I guess just the times, tastes change as well.
I was nine when 9 came out in 09. Never really fully grasped the concept of the movie when I was a kid. Rediscovered it (conveniently) In 2019 😂😂 and as an adult I really got a better understanding of the plot, and really enjoy it.
I remember my parents getting this for my siblings and I and popping it on without a second thought. This film is legitimately PG-13 and my parents went, 'It's animated, of course it's safe for kids.' This is the battle I've fought with them for years; animation can go beyond just kids and family focused. But I do honestly love this film. It's always on my Halloween lineup and looks awesome.
I similar thing happened to me when I was younger. My father thought that just because it was animated it was safe for kids. So he let me watch Futurama, Bevis and Butthead, and King of the Hill. Which are all not suitable for a five or six-year-old. I specifically remember telling him: "I don't think this is for kids" Haha, I still joke about it with him today. I don't blame him for his logic on animation, he just didn't know any better.
I remember this movie. It was so bizarre! People thought Coralline was scary, but this movie was on another level. Excellent voice cast too overall. Elijah Wood is one of my favorite actors ever. He’ll always be Frodo in the lord of the rings movies alongside Spyro in the legend of Spyro trilogy for some strange reason? Lol
@@CinemaOverAnalyzed unfortunately the movie isn’t available to stream at all. Only available to buy off Apple, google or iTunes which is really strange I think.
Interestingly enough, the video game for 9 only ever came to mobile devices. It was never released on consoles which is such a shame too! It probably would’ve come out on PS2 and PS3. I definitely would’ve bought it if that was the case.
I remember seeing some commercials for the movie & thinking it was creepy but in a cool kinda way. I wasn’t too scared of horror movies as a little kid. Also, there was a short film that’s made by the same director before adapting it into a film.
I feel like I saw some commercials on Nickelodeon back in the day. You are correct, 9 was first a short film by Shane Acker, who also directed this film. The short was nominated for an Oscar.
@@CinemaOverAnalyzed welp i dont cleary remember all but I 2 days ago rewatched it. and it brings my memories back, I think I was like 9 to 7 yr old. idk I was born in 2007, so I truly don't remember that much. but it was good bc it was scary and its theme is about war, science, friendship , and so on.

O know right! It's a clever idea on the evil robots part, so I give him props. On the other hand, it's super disturbing...haha!

haha...that's so funny!
I think this movie is one of the reasons i love horror so much
to this day i still think about all the designs and robots in this
The character designs are really unique. I'm glad it got you into liking horror movies. What are some of your other favorite horror films?

Definitely way spookier than Coraline in my opinion. If I watched it back in the day, probably would have been traumatized...hahaha!

I think why the machine was destroyed by the soul collector was because of the soul inside it was torn out.

That's really weird...I wonder why that is?

I still have dreams about this movie..
is that a good thing or a bad thing...haha?
If I had a dime for every time 9 was mentioned
you would probably have more than 9 dimes for sure...haha!
Just like Coraline I avoided this movie as a kid😂
Different movie same nightmares fuel...haha!
Also, I like your new profile pic!
@@CinemaOverAnalyzed I appreciate it
