In that same vein, pretty straight forward, I think she's a being of necessities. The Beldam is having to play the long game with Coraline because she needs her to succumb to her temptations, and she also needs to create new beings inside of the Other World, ones who can act of their own volition such as the Other Father and the Other Wybie. That degree of intelligence is an apparent risk, yet she uses it because she simply has no better options for those very necessary roles. Perhaps she is a Baba Yaga-esque witch who decided to take up residence inside of the being below the Pink Palace like a parasitic squatter. The Other World has four parts as I see it: the Tunnel, the Well, the Pink Palace copy created by the Beldam, and the void where her creation ends and begins, which is the entity of the Pink Palace in its purest state.

The beldams creations have a conscious and a free will. However they aren’t allowed to defy her or they get erased. She erased other wybie just because he set her free.

In one theory the other mother's creations contain soul sand to bring them to life. The more they have the more they can feel and express emotion freely, giving her less control over them. Like giving more programming to an a.i. Instead of putting all her energy into controlling them she gives them more independent functions.

I’m a big fan of the lion king overall! One of my favorite and of course the best animated movies ever made. The 2019 remake doesn’t compare at all. I’m interested to see how the upcoming Mufasa prequel movie turns out as well. Apparently if it’s a big success it could lead to more prequels and sequels within the lion king series overall. Whether or not you think it’s a good or bad thing is entirely up to you.

I think no you’re overthinking a bit too much about copyright issues with the live action remakes compared to the original animated movies. They’re both made by the same company of Disney so I think that’s the workaround.

When she gears up to get her parents back, she wears orange BUT puts a dark blue vest on over it! She’s a wolf wearing sheepskin! 7:45 - I also think that Ursa needed a safe environment to properly parent both her kids in order to give them both attention and affection ❤🥰and offer her teachings as well, but unfortunately for her and her kids, that’s just not possible 😔😭. Overall though, I’d say that Ursa did the BEST she could for both her kids and I do hope that Ursa & Azula will get to reconcile sometime between ATLA & the LOK, especially now that Ursa is back 😊😮‍💨.

i have the theory that she puts the old kiddos ghosts into the dolls... i mean, i know she eats their souls and eyes but the ghosts that we see in the movie are only 3 children, and she probably killed more than just 3..., coz in the tunnel when coraline is escaping from the Beldam, we see kid's clothes, that were from the kids she ate before that tried to escape and that unlike coraline, didn't make it. So, it would make sense to me because the other wybie and the other father had their owns minds and decisions, they probably wanted to help coraline so she doesn't end like them, so yeah i think that the beldam can possess objects or her well known dolls with the ghosts of the children she eats (objects like the boring boy) ... letting her put the buttons in your eyes is like doing a demoniac contract where she eats your soul for a wish (staying there forever) and then the consequence is having to be her slave for the rest of the eternity and help her trick other kids into it. So she's prolly a demon, one that offers contracts targeting specially kids and young teenagers.

It’s actually quite a coincidence that you brought up all live-action remakes from Disney. I’m not the biggest fan of them either but I have watched them all to see how they compare with the original animated movies. The little mermaid from last year wasn’t bad at all but didn’t need to be 2 and a half hours long when the original was only 80 minutes long. Snow White, lilo and stitch and Moana seem to be the last live-action remakes coming out from Disney as they’re cutting back on the amount of content they’re making too. Other ones like Bambi, Hercules and the hunchback of Notre dame have been recently cancelled too.

I get what you’re saying about wicked. I mean we are getting two parts to this new movie so I’m still optimistic that both movies will be really good but I definitely don’t want to get my expectations up too high right now. Part 1 is set to come out on the same day as gladiator 2 and people are saying it’ll be Barbenheimer all over again which I could easily see happening.

Nostalgia is a symptom of late stage capitalism. It happens as any empire/dominant system goes into decay: not nostalgia itself but the stagnation of culture. All these remakes, reboots and remasters in gaming, movies, tv and so on. Theres no more innovation or creativity amd the only time you see that will be from indie studios with a shoestring budget trying to break the mold. Problem is that indie studio succeeds, the market notices the profit pouring in, copies it and then the cycle continues

Fair point about the remakes, but it is difficult to believe that the higher-ups at Disney were not thinking about cashing up on the nostalgia when the movies were pitched.
