Out of the two scam games, it's sad to say that Dreamworld has a *somewhat* of a game, if you call it anything that. lol Earth 2 was probably never going to have a game and it'll never will now.
@@BaneHydra Unlikely. Dreamworld was intended to be a scam from the start. No Man's Sky's launch was more like a sign of incompetence, boneheaded move and massive hubris. The fact that they continued to work on it and improved the game for the last 5 years, delivering on their promise proves that the game was not intended to be a scam. If this was a scam, they could've just taken the money and ran. The updates they released were ALL for free. They didn't ask for extra money. Words mean things, and this statement felt clear to me. Still the “VR technology isn’t ready for my product” is really lazy and downplays how E2 lags behind the VR industry. This excuse for pushing mobile assumes his audience doesn’t understand VR technology or the engine he uses.
That’s my point. VR in a modern system is not difficult to do. To say his “technology” is that far advanced is simply not true. This demonstrates that he is to lazy to check the handful of boxes to enable VR in the Unity engine. Or even worse, that he has no product to use VR on. As far as i can see, every single change they’ve recently made, freezing the market, rewarding players with Essence, changing all new tiles to class 2 with all ‘original’ buyers tiles being class one, is all just to stop people from selling up and withdrawing their cash. i see they announced today a partnership with Polygon. Apparently they are going to be providing the services to facilitate some of their game levels and blockchain stuff, however it’s as vague as every other announcement they make with zero meat on the bone.
Polygon Studios is partnering with Decentralland and The Sandbox too, which are together 11 Billion Dollars Marketcap!!! I would call that meat on the bone.
@@Ralferator That is meat on the bone for Polygon Studios, but Decentralland is a direct competitor to E2 so the fact they are partnered with them as well removes any USP the Polygon partnership could have brought E2. Like i said, like most things Shane has talked about over the last year, very little of it has came to fruition, and what has came to fruition has been a completely different watered down version of what was initially promised. There is a reason all of their lead developers have jumped ship. They have no confidence in the captain at the helm, who wants to monetise every aspect of E2 before there is any semblance of an actual game. I feel sorry for the people who paid an absolute fortune for the ‘privilege’ of owning Class 1 tiles, just to be told last week that all class 2 tiles would be upgraded to class 1 for free anyways. This a prime example of Shane’s knee jerk decision making.
@@darkcognitive Decentralland is not a direct competitor. It's a very different approach not rebuilding planet Earth. Shane has promised too much too early but things are getting better. i quote you: "There is a reason all of their lead developers have jumped ship. They have no confidence in the captain at the helm, who wants to monetise every aspect of E2 before there is any semblance of an actual game" - that's only your presumption. Did you talk to them and asked them what the reason is? " I feel sorry for the people who paid an absolute fortune for the ‘privilege’ of owning Class 1 tiles, just to be told last week that all class 2 tiles would be upgraded to class 1 for free anyways." Tile sales just exploded and since only Tier 1 (not Class 1 - that's something else) produce Yewels which can be used to produce more Essence, Tier 1 tiles will be much higher priced in the future. You obviously don't have any tiles and don't use Earth2 or you would know. It doesn't make sense to make assumptions without having enough information or even using Earth2. You will just draw the wrong conclusions.
@@darkcognitive Actually last year Shane claim that Earth 2 claim have a creator of VR technology ( i think the korean guy) but it turn out he is just hired advisor and he is not creator of VR. That poor guy are just hired by VR company in the past as sales management. My word, don't trust anything that Shane E2 guy claim. He is also promise for VR for Earth 2 in early day and Phase 3 in the end of 2021. He keeps moving his goal post.
@@Ralferator Decentralland absolutely is a competitor, if it’s in the Metaverse realm and can take cash from players that might otherwise have went to E2, then it’s a competitor. As for the reason the devs left, The devs have already moved onto working on another game, and yes there is some evidence of them not being happy with Shane and vice versa (Shane banning them from Discord for a start the moment they left should give you a hint)…. And also the devs publicly stating that they didn’t want Essence tied to real USD, tons, just for Shane to go against them. There have been tons of deleted discord posts about what they devs wanted and didnt get. They are under an NDA just now but it will all come out. I follow this much more closely that you think, and have followed it from it’s inception, yes i said Class instead of Tier… big deal. You know what I’m talking about and I’m not wrong. If all you have to argue is semantics then you just prove my point even more. Good luck selling your tiles for a 90% discount when they decide to unfreeze the marketplace, lmao…. The sign of a stable, transparent and working marketplace is when the entire player base has to discount tiles by over 90% just to try and get a sale, whilst the owner has the ability to just ‘freeze’ it whenever he chooses……. So stable and trustworthy.
Earth 2 just partnered with Polygon , if you still think it's a Scam you are pretty wrong about it. They will definitely will be still there in 2 months and blow up pretty much imo
It's annoying that Shane kept referring to smartphones as "hand devices". It's like he was trying to make a smarter or cooler sounding term for something that already exists, but it just sounds dumb. And that pretty much sums up his whole interview.
Wasn't this supposed to be some crypto/blockchain BS? How can they claim you truly own this virtual land when the devs can snatch it from you and refuse to let you sell it.
many say that Earth 2 partnered with polygon Studios but simple Google news i get about Polygon Studios and NFT articles are come from Business Wire. The articles itself no mention about Earth 2 partnership.
This is just getting unfair...Dreamworld? ok. we'll develop it, but 10,000% more efficiently in terms of time and resources. Earth 2? hmm. should we go for 1,000,000% more efficiently? And then they just go out and DO it to prove a point. I'm waiting for them to have both Elyria games done by the end of the year ;)
I think this same process will repeat itself with a lot of these nft based projects that have cropped up like mushrooms after a rain. The problem with a lot of those games for me is that they are prioritizing making cash over making a viable mmo that people actually want to play. The people who invested their money into buying land for example will be left with worthless properties if those mmos start suffering from lack of players due to lack of actual content and due to lack of meaningful in-game mechanics.
that's crypto bro! just think about bitcoin. bitcoin is absolutely amazing by what it's supposed to be and it could've been of greate benefit for everyone. then people come in that just care about profits and they take that technology and try to squeeze out money in every possible way. nowadays i would say that bitcoin isn't of good use as a currency (at least if you can use alternatives) and same goes for basically every crypto-currency as the worth fluctuates way to much. but because of bitcoin, if you manage to slap "crypto" onto something then you can trick people into thinking it's going to skyrocket like bitcoin. this makes me angry every time i think about it. bitcoin was supposed to pull the power about currencies out of the hands of the rich. and now greedy people used it to make "crypto" the new "get rich quick" seal...
"different abilities and movements"... what an intersting idea... now i'll be thinking about it while emptying my stomach to the toilet for a while (thx shane, you're the best weight loss program, i just need to listen to you for 20seconds and BAM)

Nintendo : "For instance, we're planning of making Mario run !" Public : "..." Nintendo : "And jump !" Public : "..." Nintendo : "You're so amazed that you're literally speechless ! And we're still thinking about using the others buttons from the controller !"
Will you be covering how they aquired the drone game as their "pvp" game? found a little video on about it and am waiting for you, bigfry, josh, upper echelon or someone to make another video that i just cant get enough of this scam earth 2.
Looking at the trailers and the website again, I see now that E2 was always intended as a play-to-earn game, and has always been advertized as one. Now I would be interested in discussions about how good it currently is as a play-to-earn game, compared to others, regardless of whether or not it will ever have any kind of virtual world.
This guy gonna remake every scam game and do it better with a volunteer force and in a fraction of the time just to doodoo on the devs making them to show their incompetence. I love it. And before you say that is mean, that is why you buy a single player game and you cant play it for 6 months because it has to be patched.
I'm thinking of it now as E2 creating a kind of virtual casino, and continually adding games to that, instead of doing any work on actually building the kind of world that they say that they're building. People who originally thought they were helping to fund the development of that world are being pacified by the money that they're making or hoping to make in E2's virtual casino, and some businesses that have grown up around it.

Am I going crazy or at 12:04 when you're on your profile that speaker icon is one of Zach's stupid kickstarter ideas? I swear it is the same or similar.
If you plan on making a web app of Earth 2: A Realm Reborn, let me know. I’d love to help out whatever way I can.
Sincerely,
A Web Developer
I love that Callum's (and friends) response to bad games is just "damn it, we'll make our own!"
I wonder what that tile change does to our favorite "NOT A FINACIAL ADVISOR" Aria?
First time I heard this and no context, this sounds absolutely hilarious
“We tried making a second Earth but we gave up”
How is Nightmare world going? :) As a fellow dev I can't wait for more videos on it! :)
It's going well! (lore team member). I'm glad you're enjoying the videos so far! ^.^ x
devlog coming over xmas!
@@CallumUpton looking forward to it! one of most solid work out there when it comes down to small indie projects.
" I feel sorry for the people who paid an absolute fortune for the ‘privilege’ of owning Class 1 tiles, just to be told last week that all class 2 tiles would be upgraded to class 1 for free anyways."
Tile sales just exploded and since only Tier 1 (not Class 1 - that's something else) produce Yewels which can be used to produce more Essence, Tier 1 tiles will be much higher priced in the future.
Loooolll the ending. Can’t wait for the earth2 discord video
Got a hearty chuckle out of me when you said you have made your own Earth 2
lol Goddamn the Titanic is finally starting to sink.
They partnered with polygon studios
I’m not sure how significant that is
I'm amazed at how you can just put a disfunctional website out there and ask people to pay and they will.
Earth 2 just partnered with Polygon , if you still think it's a Scam you are pretty wrong about it. They will definitely will be still there in 2 months and blow up pretty much imo
this is just devastating, i love this content, you got yourself a new sub XD
Is that Zachery's speaker at 11:37
it is, i had to honor our boy by setting my land flag to a core aegis
Callum: i've never seen a company that big fail so hard
Blizzard: visibly sweating looking from the distance
It's annoying that Shane kept referring to smartphones as "hand devices". It's like he was trying to make a smarter or cooler sounding term for something that already exists, but it just sounds dumb. And that pretty much sums up his whole interview.
I cried with 'hand device' yeah I'm a sensitive guy and I hate stupid words
Hand devices is very broad term. It can be flashlight, remote control, walkie talkie, vibrator, etc.
This aged well... 😂😂😂📈🤯
This is gonna blow up hard, and it's going to be entertaining af.. I'm gonna need to stock up on pop corn!
but that market freeze warning was on the test site before the two devs left...
Wasn't this supposed to be some crypto/blockchain BS? How can they claim you truly own this virtual land when the devs can snatch it from you and refuse to let you sell it.
Well they just partnered with polygon studios so…
many say that Earth 2 partnered with polygon Studios but simple Google news i get about Polygon Studios and NFT articles are come from Business Wire. The articles itself no mention about Earth 2 partnership.
all it takes is for one of their 'investors' to ask a court that same question and this house of cards collapses.....
@@petriew2018 lol not even sure what that means
This is just getting unfair...Dreamworld? ok. we'll develop it, but 10,000% more efficiently in terms of time and resources.
Earth 2? hmm. should we go for 1,000,000% more efficiently? And then they just go out and DO it to prove a point.
I'm waiting for them to have both Elyria games done by the end of the year ;)
That is the greatest ending to a video I've ever seen hahaha
LOL hahah we all saw this coming, nice video Callum!
You owe me a new keyboard! GDI, you made me spit my drink when you said "Earth 2: A Realm Reborn".
You may not like to talk about it, but I love it! Gotta love some drama about a project without a future. Please continue!
Boy Tier and Class are not the same, do your research boiiiiii.
"Told you so & serves you right!"
-Potholer54
I could see the video being made in my head after watching your first earth 2 video
So what about polygon studios partnership?
God I still remember being there for the asian shower guy in VC, that shit was wild.
Polygon...
100 bonus points if the crypto is called "Uptons"
Hand device got me crying
I think this same process will repeat itself with a lot of these nft based projects that have cropped up like mushrooms after a rain. The problem with a lot of those games for me is that they are prioritizing making cash over making a viable mmo that people actually want to play. The people who invested their money into buying land for example will be left with worthless properties if those mmos start suffering from lack of players due to lack of actual content and due to lack of meaningful in-game mechanics.
that's crypto bro!
just think about bitcoin.
bitcoin is absolutely amazing by what it's supposed to be and it could've been of greate benefit for everyone.
then people come in that just care about profits and they take that technology and try to squeeze out money in every possible way.
nowadays i would say that bitcoin isn't of good use as a currency (at least if you can use alternatives) and same goes for basically every crypto-currency as the worth fluctuates way to much.
but because of bitcoin, if you manage to slap "crypto" onto something then you can trick people into thinking it's going to skyrocket like bitcoin.
this makes me angry every time i think about it.
bitcoin was supposed to pull the power about currencies out of the hands of the rich.
and now greedy people used it to make "crypto" the new "get rich quick" seal...
the guy is just a conman nothing more we need to put more conman in jail.
The thumbnail is amazing
What if you combined these two games and just called it "Dream 2"?
"different abilities and movements"... what an intersting idea... now i'll be thinking about it while emptying my stomach to the toilet for a while (thx shane, you're the best weight loss program, i just need to listen to you for 20seconds and BAM)
Imagine Nintendo's conferences if it worked that way :
Nintendo : "In our project of a new Mario game, we're still conceiving interesting gameplay parts"
Public : "YEAH !!!!"
Nintendo : "For instance, we're planning of making Mario run !"
Public : "..."
Nintendo : "And jump !"
Public : "..."
Nintendo : "You're so amazed that you're literally speechless ! And we're still thinking about using the others buttons from the controller !"
What a shocking and total unforseen path of events
I wonder wher you got the name for your version of Earth 2 from.
Might it be a critically acclaimed mmorpg?
Thanks Callum. God’s work, right here.
What's going on with nightmare world?
what did hotdog neck have to say about this?
Will you be covering how they aquired the drone game as their "pvp" game? found a little video on about it and am waiting for you, bigfry, josh, upper echelon or someone to make another video that i just cant get enough of this scam earth 2.
When callum said we're making our own version..I skipped a beat
Looking at the trailers and the website again, I see now that E2 was always intended as a play-to-earn game, and has always been advertized as one. Now I would be interested in discussions about how good it currently is as a play-to-earn game, compared to others, regardless of whether or not it will ever have any kind of virtual world.
A fool and his money are easily separated.
I wonder if Arya Realty will pull out.
Just as Arya goes live I get to sit down and watch this.
Jesus Christ, Callum, you're not one to mess around, kicking them while they're already down 😵 absolutely brutal
Nice work
This guy gonna remake every scam game and do it better with a volunteer force and in a fraction of the time just to doodoo on the devs making them to show their incompetence. I love it. And before you say that is mean, that is why you buy a single player game and you cant play it for 6 months because it has to be patched.
"I dont think the VR community is ready for that (NFTs)' : meanwhile Revomon is working with NFTs in VR
Where they being paid in Earth2 tiles?
class action?
“Collaborating with a metaverse and virtual economy leader like Earth 2 highlights our commitment to the blockchain gaming and NFT ecosystems” said Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon - mhmm maybe you are just.... wrong, Callum?
suddenly all the haters so quiet? Busy buying tiles?
He fucking did it. The glorious bastard he did it. He Nightmare World'd the Earth 2 shills. In discord no less, unreal. What a timeline
Hahahahaha! Wonder what Arya's talking about right now.
he runs out with some money.
