wet wood ear cant put in fridge long,if you want it taste cold, put the salad in fridge for mostly
20min. wood ear can be only stored dry.

I just tried this recipe out, but it turned out inedibly bitter. My hypothesis is that I didn’t toast the prickly ash berries long enough. I also noticed that the video shows the cook adding only half the powder! I did manage to salvage the recipe by steaming the fungus with the sauce (I already added the sauce to the fungus) and it was tasty, but still bitter and not salad-y enough due to the sauce being cooked.

    请问,将花椒研碎后加入,会不会牙碜?以前这样加入饺子馅里,吃着有点牙碜,就没再试过了

I pick them and eat em right off the tree. Freaks people out, cause they look like ears. Ahhh...yeah. Rubbery Tree Ear...the ones in video, are a little more mature than when I pick mine. I like em when they taste like a minerally gummy bear. Look like red velvet. Thanks for posting...good to see Im not the only one out there who enjoys....weird food.

+Mandalyn M- There is only one variety I know of that is poisonous. But...it's because of the host tree. That's why identification of the host tree is important as well. I've been eating Wild Foraged Fungi my whole life.

+The Roaming Gnome...Glenn Munro! ...Trees that are known to have volatile oils...or poisonous particulars...can be a challenge to prepare....because the fungus is pulling the goodies out of the tree into one spot. I don't usually use ground fungi. Most of all the in the air on the tree....off the ground Fungi are not poisonous. But make sure you Id. the host....tree. Trees like Evergreens. Hollies....and sumacs.....can have fungi... but also have oils and oxides in them that can give you a bad day. it's pulling the minerals and oils out of the tree and putting it into one spot. This can be a good thing....but if the host is a volitile evergreen. You should know about API identification. Terpentine...can poison you. Position of the fungus on the tree as well....most of the concentrates are at the base of the tree. Most of the lighter elements are higher off the ground.

+The Roaming Gnome...Glenn Munro! - That's why I don't mess with floor fungi....it has to be off the ground. the only decay floor fungi I can eat is a chantrelle....and I hand pick mine and learn from the process of the environment. host. position of fungi. Some reason the closer to the base the stronger the chemicals. in the fungi. The ones I use are high in hydrogen peroxide....at a level a human can tolerate. I'm small...so. You have to be mindful of dosage to. You can eat 3 servings cooked. I eat one raw everyday.....

+The Roaming Gnome...Glenn Munro! I like it as well. But just in case, fresh fungi could be poisonous. In China, a number of food poisoning cases relating to eating fresh fungi are reported every year. Most Chinese purchase dried black fungi in a grocery shop rather than eating fresh fungi grown on tree. I think you can easily get it in a Chinatown or an oriental grocery shop.

+Nino Wang - Where I live in Missouri ...we don't buy food
...we forage and grow it ourselves.....and if the area is polluted. Then someone's getting there rear kicked.
