She loved him so much that she left the apartment because she knew that Ted will never move on if she stick around. And Ted lo ed her equally. A beautiful show with its beautiful life lessons.
What’s the life lesson, you gotta love yourselves, look past some things and let each other do what they need, believe they need to do, and be at peace with that. But they can still love each other, be supportive of each other and be a couple? The ending that they have a family is very intriguing to me
i think the most beautiful scene for me in the series is when marshal understood the feeling ted had for robbin and that’s when marshal stepped in and asked robbin to leave and i think that was seriously one of the most beautiful scenes i’ve seen in any series.

It’s a rollercoaster, man…. I know a robin. I blew it and we couldn’t be together… eventually you’ll get use to it with time but the heart never does. Whenever you see her it’s like the first time all over again, and makes you feel like you’re 19 again.
Im currently in disbelief, that I actually am dating my Robin after 5 years of “friends” and had to see her in other relationships etc. But I always saw the similarities with Ted as myself and Robin as my date. Wish me luck… although I am seeing the next life struggle as well since I am just about to take a dream which will send me to Japan/South Korea in 2025… Why does life have to be this way 😭
You ever think about how Ted and Robin often wear red and blue when they're together or in episodes revolving around their relationship. You ever think about how maybe the two separate colours represent a doomed relationship (Ted's parents wear red and blue in the episode they announce their divorce) as opposed to the purple giraffe (perfect mixture of the two). I feel like people often say the blue french horn is ted+robin but imo it more represents Ted's heart. He actively grabs the blue french horn and offers it up to her, multiple times throughout the years. The purple giraffe in the crane machine has always been the prize he's been trying to win over and over and the dude keeps offering his heart in order to get it. Even when he makes it rain, he doesnt wait for her to come down, he goes up into the building to kiss her. It's always been one sided (sometimes on robin's part) right up until the finale. The yellow umbrella connecting ted and tracy through pure coincidence is about fate. There's no transaction between Ted and Tracy. They just meet under the umbrella that belongs to both of them. I have issues with this show but i still watch over and over because its such an unusual and interesting story for a sitcom.
I remember after years of watching this show, I decided in the 9th grade that i will never be Ted. You give something worth receiving, to an obviously wrong person... and expect good things to pan out from that. When she shows you who she truly is and what she wants, believe that and move on.
The series finale wasn't perfect at all. But the decision to reunite Ted and Robin after a few years of Tracy's death never bothered me. Just how Tracy thought she lost her "The One", Ted thought the same thing. But eventually, they were able to move on and find happiness again. Although many people may find Robin selfish, I recall you guys some lesson from season 5: with time, we become doppelgangers of ourselves. People change and make a lot of different choices along the way. But after all, she could stay with Ted in a proper circumstance. The only thing I really dislike on the finale was Barney's poor ending. He lost all of his development because he wasn't able to stay with the girl he loved. Sadly, the creators decided to rush the last chapters and the easier decision for Barney's future would be the return of the womanizer and disrespectful male. He truly deserved something better. That's why he appeared in How I Met Your Father as someone recovering from an addiction, but it will never repair the damage made. Even though the last season is the worst for me, it doesn't change my feelings for this show. I revisit the show annually and still laugh and cry with the same lines from the same episodes. It will never leave my top favorite shows.
the decision of ted and robin in the final really bother me, but i agree with all the rest. I was so happy to see barney on himyf but he really deserved more on how I met your mother, I can’t understand what the writers were thinking in the end because the whole serie is so well thinking
honestly i belive the complete opposite like ted and robin reuniting never made sense ,the whole show shows how they don't work with each others and even with the proper circumstance robin will never live up to what ted wants ,ted was in love more with robin as a idea then with her as a person and especially after tracy's death too, like she could have changed so much in those years but it still didn't bothered him which just proves he loved robin as a idea more than a person in another hand i prefer the barney ending was more than if he had just ended up with robin ,like barney being changed for the time he fell in love with robin makes sense for the first time but after their breakup which shows they don't work together , you can see that barney even if he tried his hardest couldn't commit to a person even if she was the best person he could get and his character being changed after he basically just ends up as his mom but instand become the dad he never had makes way more sense and shows parallels to his mom also the best way barney could learn to not be a womanizer was to end up with raising a daughter of his own
The ending was supposed to be about two people who moved on from people who loomed largely in their past and rekindle that lost love with each other. Very poetic. Ted also finally shed his insecurities surrounding love and dating when he met Tracy. They don't get married until after their second kid. It's no longer about the 'narrative' of his life. It's about the love they share. Ted never really respected Robin as a person. She was never 'the one,' he just projected all her romantic fantasies onto her. His decision to pursue Robin once more in the finale represented an emotional regression. This turn in the story negates his emotional maturation. After years of solitude after the death of his wife, he reverts to his childish and cliched conception of love as a the central event in the 'great love story' of his life. The girl is just a character in a story whose protagonist pursues her. I think it really went against the themes of the show.

Man, I don't know why I spent 50 minutes watching this. It's kind of just painful. It makes me think of a lot of things. Of course, when I watch it, I relate to it and I picture someone in my head. And I know it's not healthy or anything to think about her still, and I don't think about her as much as I used to. When I do think about her, it's limited and it's not in a daydreamy sort of way. But it still hurts a bit, because I do still care about her even after several years. I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have worked out. I'm pretty sure. But, sometimes I'll wonder for a moment or two what it could have been like had I stuck with it despite her starting to do coke. I definitely wasn't in the best headspace emotionally, and I think she acted in some toxic ways for sure, but what I felt for her is still so strong. I yearn to feel that for someone again. I hadn't been with anyone else like her before, and I haven't since, and it makes me a little sad sometimes. What I really want most in life is to find someone to whom I can try to give all of my love, and sometimes it's just very painful to have not even held hands romantically with someone in a few years. I feel like I know that I made the right decision, but at the same time when I watch these scenes and hear them talking about how their timing was off, it makes me question just a bit if that's all that the issue was. I'm pretty sure that there were some deeper issues, but it's difficult. I am 100% sure that she cared a lot about me, and I haven't had anyone else feel that way since. It makes it feel more special with her. And I guess I just feel even weirder thinking about any of this now that she's married, although I don't think that she fully got over me. It kind of feels a bit like I'm still focused on the past, while the people I'm focusing on a bit have already moved on and left me behind. But it's not so much that I want *her*, I think that particular desire has passed, but I really long for something like what I had with her. I guess that best I can do is just try to be a good person, take care of myself, and put myself out there. That last one is a little hard though, lol. But I really relate with how hard it was for Ted to just let go. It took me a while to get to that point. I still wanted to hold on just a bit, wait around just a bit. I'm not even sure why. I think I thought that if I were to let go, then it would lessen the value of the feelings I'd had for her? It took me a long while to get to the point where I was comfortable thinking about stuff with other people. I totally cried when this was over. I'd held it back for a while, but it had just brought up so many thoughts and emotions. I do feel somewhat lonely, and I think part of that is my fault for not going and socializing enough. I just really hope I can find someone who's right for me. I really want to just have someone I can hold and say, "I love you" to. This is a huge wall of text that I don't expect anyone to read. I think I just sort of wanted to type it out to work through some feelings I have.

Same! I think the writers went way too far with trying to make them a thing. They wanted vastly different things on the long term and never felt like they connected besides their daddy issues. Ted and Robin was unhealthy but there was actual chemistry.
Robin repeatedly told Ted that she didn't want to have kids, didn't want to get married, and didn't want something serious. I understand there were times where she was selfish with Ted and others, but so was Ted. He kept pursuing her after she repeatedly turned him down and told him the truth, which I mentioned above. Ted didn't want to hear it or accept it. Then, he uses these grand gestures (blue French horn, the blue Orchestra and roses in her apartment, making it rain, the Christmas decorations, etc) to change her mind, only for him to get upset when he's given her so much and yet she STILL doesn't want to get married or have kids - something she's said, repeatedly, all along. Regardless of the intention on Ted's part, that is straight manipulation, and it is unfair.
2 weeks ago I told the girl of my dreams, the woman I love, that we cannot be friends if she doesn't want to date me (she's dating another guy and told me just 4 weeks ago, after hanging out for a few moths). She understood although she didn't like it. I didn't want her to be my Robin, I didn't want to be Ted, always hoping. If she's around, you can't get over her, so it's better to just let her go, fell the pain and actually move on, otherwise you will never do. Now I sleep better than ever.
Some people (like me). Just don't want marrige and kids. We're just not wired that way. I've dated this great girl. Bu she wanted marrige and kids, it broke both our hearts. But we had to break up. I didn't find her selfish because she didn't want the same thing as me.

Hm it’s very interesting. Tracy made him realize he needs to love each moment, and before Ted didn’t love himself. Maybe you need up and down relationships for some. And Ted and Robin loved each other in some way. But maybe not themselves. Maybe Tracy were there to make Ted realize something and Barney for Robin to realize something to. Though I keep on wondering if Ted and Tracy would still be together if she did not pass away. Is Robin the next best thing or did Ted convince himself he loved Tracy?
The true fact is Robin never REALT LOVED Ted , she liked hin alot , she cared for him and most importantly SHE NEVER WANTED TO HURT HIM , but she had deep loving feeling for him. It is some sort of addiction for sure. Not sure you believe in zodiacs or not. But many times they profile so accurately based on their sun signs. We so believed in zodiacs when in college and schools. We shared them a lot and trusted them to be true. I didn't know it was paganism and could land me in sin-land. Still I love to read zodiacs and look them up every now and then. Must positive experience than other things.

Robin was never supposed to date Barney, let alone marry him. Remember she feared commitment, and truly loved Ted. But the seasons got extended over and over... It doesn't make any sense for Robin to say yes to marriage to Barney, knowing how she is. She's marrying the worst person to marry of the group too. And their break up and infinite amount of doubts, only stopped by Ted being Ted, proved it. HIMYM had a happy ending, but the leading up to it was f-ing tragic
For me barney and Robin are still the best couple barney definitely loved Robin more than ted in my opinion for me Robin and Barney are still married and happy together end of the story.

They only shot 1 finale and not multiple, thereby forcing the show to end with him and Robin even though by that point in the show, it was completely inorganic for them to be together. The audience had also come to terms with that and liked Ted's baby mama, so to have that huge left turn to Robin was forced and felt bad.

They only shot 1 ending because they wanted Ted's kids to remain at the same age for the finale. They also used a montage to walk through Ted's ENTIRE life with his wife. It's a very, VERY poor way to tell a story and they quite literally didn't trust their own writing for an ending that went with how the series progressed or shoot other possible endings. While it may be satisfying for you, congrats, it doesn't logistically make it a good one. It makes it the only one.
Even after showing how Robin and Ted were never compatible, even after we saw how Robin and Barney were better suited and even changed for each other, somehow Ted ends up with Robin. That’s just terrible writing and planning. Makes you think that the only reason they killed off Tracey was so Ted could be with Robin

Man, I don't know why I spent 50 minutes watching this. It's kind of just painful. It makes me think of a lot of things. Of course, when I watch it, I relate to it and I picture someone in my head. And I know it's not healthy or anything to think about her still, and I don't think about her as much as I used to. When I do think about her, it's limited and it's not in a daydreamy sort of way. But it still hurts a bit, because I do still care about her even after several years. I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have worked out. I'm pretty sure. But, sometimes I'll wonder for a moment or two what it could have been like had I stuck with it despite her starting to do coke. I definitely wasn't in the best headspace emotionally, and I think she acted in some toxic ways for sure, but what I felt for her is still so strong. I yearn to feel that for someone again. I hadn't been with anyone else like her before, and I haven't since, and it makes me a little sad sometimes. What I really want most in life is to find someone to whom I can try to give all of my love, and sometimes it's just very painful to have not even held hands romantically with someone in a few years. I feel like I know that I made the right decision, but at the same time when I watch these scenes and hear them talking about how their timing was off, it makes me question just a bit if that's all that the issue was. I'm pretty sure that there were some deeper issues, but it's difficult. I am 100% sure that she cared a lot about me, and I haven't had anyone else feel that way since. It makes it feel more special with her. And I guess I just feel even weirder thinking about any of this now that she's married, although I don't think that she fully got over me. It kind of feels a bit like I'm still focused on the past, while the people I'm focusing on a bit have already moved on and left me behind. But it's not so much that I want *her*, I think that particular desire has passed, but I really long for something like what I had with her. I guess that best I can do is just try to be a good person, take care of myself, and put myself out there. That last one is a little hard though, lol. But I really relate with how hard it was for Ted to just let go. It took me a while to get to that point. I still wanted to hold on just a bit, wait around just a bit. I'm not even sure why. I think I thought that if I were to let go, then it would lessen the value of the feelings I'd had for her? It took me a long while to get to the point where I was comfortable thinking about stuff with other people. I totally cried when this was over. I'd held it back for a while, but it had just brought up so many thoughts and emotions. I do feel somewhat lonely, and I think part of that is my fault for not going and socializing enough. I just really hope I can find someone who's right for me. I really want to just have someone I can hold and say, "I love you" to. This is a huge wall of text that I don't expect anyone to read. I think I just sort of wanted to type it out to work through some feelings I have.

Robin repeatedly told Ted that she didn't want to have kids, didn't want to get married, and didn't want something serious. I understand there were times where she was selfish with Ted and others, but so was Ted. He kept pursuing her after she repeatedly turned him down and told him the truth, which I mentioned above. Ted didn't want to hear it or accept it. Then, he uses these grand gestures (blue French horn, the blue Orchestra and roses in her apartment, making it rain, the Christmas decorations, etc) to change her mind, only for him to get upset when he's given her so much and yet she STILL doesn't want to get married or have kids - something she's said, repeatedly, all along. Regardless of the intention on Ted's part, that is straight manipulation, and it is unfair.

2 weeks ago I told the girl of my dreams, the woman I love, that we cannot be friends if she doesn't want to date me (she's dating another guy and told me just 4 weeks ago, after hanging out for a few moths). She understood although she didn't like it. I didn't want her to be my Robin, I didn't want to be Ted, always hoping. If she's around, you can't get over her, so it's better to just let her go, fell the pain and actually move on, otherwise you will never do. Now I sleep better than ever.

The true fact is Robin never REALT LOVED Ted , she liked hin alot , she cared for him and most importantly SHE NEVER WANTED TO HURT HIM , but she had deep loving feeling for him. But it’s absolutely okay, Robin was right in her place and Ted was right on his part also , HOWEVER Robin never wanted to bother Ted no matter what but Ted always created kind of a burden for Robin because she didn’t want to hurt him.

They only shot 1 finale and not multiple, thereby forcing the show to end with him and Robin even though by that point in the show, it was completely inorganic for them to be together. The audience had also come to terms with that and liked Ted's baby mama, so to have that huge left turn to Robin was forced and felt bad.

They also used a montage to walk through Ted's ENTIRE life with his wife.
It's a very, VERY poor way to tell a story and they quite literally didn't trust their own writing for an ending that went with how the series progressed or shoot other possible endings.
While it may be satisfying for you, congrats, it doesn't logistically make it a good one. It makes it the only one.

Even after showing how Robin and Ted were never compatible, even after we saw how Robin and Barney were better suited and even changed for each other, somehow Ted ends up with Robin. That’s just terrible writing and planning. Makes you think that the only reason they killed off Tracey was so Ted could be with Robin
