- I'm fully aware that this video lacks some important scenes, but it was not my decision. Initially, it was supposed to be 10 minutes longer, but when I uploaded the 1st version, RUclips blocked some scenes; and when I shortened or completely removed them, it blocked other scenes that had not been a problem the 1st time. When I shortened or completely removed those newly blocked scenes, RUclips blocked more scenes that had not been a problem the previous two times. This video is what I was finally allowed to upload after multiple tries. Anyway, you still can see her evolution.

I think a video like this shows another great case for Scherbatsky being the main character of the show. I mean yes she's obviously the central tentpole of Ted's story, but more than that, the events of the 8 years from '05 to her wedding are a classic hero's journey and if you wanna talk character development, Robin's was definitely the starkest.
Marshall and Lily's characters were already established and the change was in their relationship and life. Ted has always been Ted and the change for him was the journey to finding someone that would take him on fully and receive all his Tedness and return with equal vigour. Barney really didn't change over the show. I mean he did, but not in tangible ways. His few relationships and intense feelings for Robin taught him what it means to be serious about a woman, which he wasn't capable of before, and having his daughter taught him to commit, but a) that didn't happen during the 8 years of the story and b) we don't really see that part.
Of all the core cast, Robin is the one who's character changes, she goes from a lone wolf to being the person in the group who's most upset about the increasing distance between them as the years go on, she goes from being married to her work to being able to be passionate and committed to her career without it taking the top spot in her life, and she goes from touching babies as little as possible to being Aunt Robin to both the Eriksen children and the Mosby children.

With the last scene it shows that Robin has come a long way if her initial reaction to hearing a crying baby is to pick them up 😅

"It is one thing to not want something because you don't want it but to be told you can't have it because u dont have a choice.." touching lines Robin ever said. I was happy she cudn't become a mother but her pain of not having a choice anymore made her character look sad.
I guess she and I have different personalities, but I would have felt better about it after that. I hate making decisions so, yay, one more difficult decision that's made for me. I'm not denying anyone anything--it's not that I am choosing not to do it, but circumstances mean can't do it. So there's no internal conflict or guilt.
Robin is very scared around children I mean when she helped a woman give birth she was crying
Considering Robyn’s track record with infants, probably a good thing she never had kids.
Did you know there’s been a case with some people terrible with kids and they have no kids they actually are really good. How are your own kids in looking after someone else’s is two different things

This video shows how Robin was a complicated character, as it wasn't that she didnt want kids but was unsure on how to handle them. Both personally as well as with her career. Id go so far as saying that Robin is also the mother as her closeness with Ted's kids brought her and Ted back together because she took up the mantle of being the surrogate mom after Tracy died as you can see from the drawings. Kind of wish they casted Zachary Gordon and another kid as Ted's kids to replace the old footage and get a new ending. It could have been.
Older Ted: Kids in the fall of 2000 and...... Wait a minute! Did something happen to you kids?
Son: No dad, we're still the same.
Older Ted: Oh, it just that it seems you two look different. Maybe even like you're different people.
Daughter: Yeah, like maybe the story got a lot longer than expected and they had to hire new people to keep the passage of time.
Older Ted: Ha Ha very funny.
Got another version, but using the same actors as Ted's kids without Tracy's death in the last season:
Ted: ... and that's how I met your Mother.
Tracy appears beside him and asks:
Tracy: What is going on here?
Ted: I'm telling them how I met you, straight as I am.
Tracy: Really? It looks like you took years to tell them how you met me. Our kids look like they got almost a decade old just by listening to you.
Ted sighs and Tracy concludes by saying:
Tracy: kids, don't listen to him. I'll tell you how I met your father.
Black screen, roll credits. Open ending with a chance to do a spin-off using Tracy's point of view (and fixing the disaster that was Hillary Duff's "How I met your father").

She was not meant to be a mom. And i'm glad she didn't become one. Her being aunt robin was more then enough.

I generally love kids, but in this case, Lily's second pupil it's really cruel 'cause he asks a really bad thing, it's none of his business!!!
