I use spies hecker waterborne and the only tip I could think of that might help someone reading or yourself is taking a small liner and pouring about 3 oz of your base coat 1-1 it with what we call “blender” it’s basically like reducing it but spraying that on your edges after one solid coat works for me to help lose the white without “speckles” or mottling ,
I am in u.s Indianapolis been spraying Indy cars an Ford dealers airplains harelys for 28 years an u do a lot of what I do u are insperation appreciate u I just got the dvi an love it
I love watching your videos, sometimes more than once lol...keep up the good attitude my brother. I wish everyone had your positive upbeat personality, this world would be a much better place to live.
Great Job and Great Video's and very Informative. I agree with use what works best for you because no shop is the same and no environment is the same. One of the things to becoming a good painter is being able to adjust to your environment.
Hey gabe hope your wife had a great birthday! Thanks for the time and effort you put into these videos they help everyday! Are those the same Hyflex gloves from 2 weeks ago or have you had to replace them since then?
A big draw back on that gun, It’s so heavy. They need to make it lighter somehow. It feels like it made really good not some cheap crap but it’s probably 3.5lbs with paint and all the adapters and pps cups.
Nice video Gabe. I am an hobbyist painter, and I am going to be painting my 77 Camaro soon. It will be PPG Envirobase base + EC530/550 Ford RR. I have been using an FLG-4 so far and like it, but want to get a new gun when I spray the car. I was thinking of a Tekna Pro Lite. Do you think this would be a better choice?
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS Was that a spray gun pun there? "fan"? :) Thanks for the reply. Do you have another gun you would recommend? As you know, the RR has a lot of clear in it, so if I were to optimize, I would probably want to optimize for a good clear gun.
Hey I bought this gun today and have been using the 1.3 tip. We spray Sherwin Williams solvent based paint. Do you think the 1.2 tip would be better? I haven’t tried it yet.
Hi Gabriel just love the videos they have completely revived my love for paining, Here in Ireland we have a wet weather climate and some of your tips referencing drying times and tools to assist drying are so helpful, I hope to in the new year to invest in some of your equipment blow dryer overalls etc,My family know u better than me I Am always checking your videos out. Say Hi to Gabriella Cameron Tiernan Luan and Nuala my family your fans,
So in your opinion what is the best gun for smoothest base coat results ?? i am asking as averyone always raving about clear gun but nobody i ask ever gives me answers regarding base gun and i do know that the base is very important but i dont know todays guns as i was painting long time ago but would like to buy a great base gun, help me out.
Hi there. Just bought the Tekna base coat but do you think its worst to get the Dv 1 instead.? The Tekna base working at lower psi so how about Dv 1? Thank you!
I'm looking into getting into spraying in a bigger way, I currently have a SRI pro HS1 0.8 and FLG5 1.3 and 1.8 tip, I'm looking at the DV1 to use as a base coat and clear gun but I can only afford one new gun, should I get the DV1 base or clear? to do both jobs or should I go Satajet 5500x rp 1.2 as they're the same price for me :) Thanks I love you too lol.
Using glamur clear now but other painter runs it an solvent pops only bakes it at 135 for 30 what u think I'm bought to switch for something faster thinking of 5000 clear or 530 550
For me, high pressure is the way to go. Do a test spray on paper against a wall, adjust the paint flow and the fan and distance from the wall so that on the outside of the pattern has microscopic particles..Can't go wrong..A 1.2 tip will be fine for almost everything, but get that pressure going..Good luck
Fine line then after untape u wax an grease remove edges real good cause the edge of tape leaves glue until u rubb it off real well atention to detail it real makes line come out well

Can't go wrong with the prolite. For base it will be great for clear in not a huge fan though

My fav was the 1.2 but I spray ppg Enviro base so not sure
I've got the same situation.
We're shooting SW Polane T.

Always learning..awesome vids

Ec530 should be good with those bake times
Man gabe it almost looked like that deekup barely had enough room to twist all the way down with the gauge on top of gun

I have learned a lot from your videos! I was wondering, do you add T492 n T493 to your base ? I believe it’s an accelerator for PPG base
I don't need to brother plus I need to save my paint
Gabe.can this gun use for clear? if can hope you can make a video of it.thank you
Yes but it's best for base
Hi.
How to remove soft edges because of masking tap.??
Visible line of paint because of masking tap
Fine line then after untape u wax an grease remove edges real good cause the edge of tape leaves glue until u rubb it off real well atention to detail it real makes line come out well
except for sata filters, do you have any filters that clean from oil ??
I don't but our compressor has a filter
