Somone Inspired u know what she could of not cut the white sheet but when she’s driving with a lot of people she could of took off the white sheet a more smarter way 🤨
All these folk buying and doing complete refits. Then you find a van that seems insulated and a bed with legal ways to carry passengers. Pure commonsense.
Take the seat belts and tuck them under the seat - then when you need them take them out. Sleeping on them through the sheets would be very uncomfortable.
Great job ladies. Marley looks beautiful. Just one helpful tip...those sheets will have a very short life as sheets and quickly become rags once they are used thanks to the cuts in them. Never fear though, there is a quick and easy solution. A little sewing or any product along the lines of Liquid Seam or Fray Stop. If you don't do something to finish the cut edges the fabric will continue to rip in the direction of the cut with very little use. You can find what you need at a fabric store or craft store or on the Internet. Good luck!
@@JessaJayVlogs I don’t know if you’ll see this but what kind of car is it? It’s literally so perfect and I’m in love with it and would like to find it or something similar
I'm 15 and I feel like I could find a van like yours in my small town for cheep. I can't wait to drive because I love traveling and this would be a perfect idea to do! Everything u need wherever u go. No hotel payments or anything. I think I'm stealing your idea😂
I usually cook outside on the tables that are under the seat so it makes sense for me to keep it there. And I just tuck them under the seat. I only pop them out when I have passengers riding in my van :)
Love it. Love how simple it is. It didn’t have electrical work or plumbing and all that. There was a cook top a place to sleep and a place to put my yoga mat. Perfect.
Okay, so how did you remedy the situation with the seatbelts when you wanted to sleep. I myself would have tucked them away and rolled the sheets back and out of the way while using the seat. I like what you have done to Marley. You have a more of a deluxe version than my Astro is, mine is a 1996, 7 passenger van. Nothing fancy and I sure wish my seats went back like yours, mine just go forward! :( Grrrr. I found your channel through Chrome and Vancity Vanlife. Now a fan!
This was a tour from a super long time ago! Marley looks a lot different now so we made a new video :) And yes, we just tucked them underneath, so most of the time, they weren’t even visible! Welcome to the JayFam!! Chrome is an awesome guy.
Just found you in my RUclips feed. Liked and subscribed. I want to convert my SUV and hit the road with my little dog. I'm 68 yrs old and hope to do this, this coming this summer. Thank you and God bless your travels. Going to binge your videos
Better sew around the edges where u cut a slit in the sheets so it don't tear further I'm a seamstress n it will as soon as ur sleeping n roll over n then u will have to waste money n buy more. Cute van hun
I have seen so many van conversion videos, and this one gets to the point and could be comfortable lived in with appropriate weather. Great video and awesome intro.
You two look like twins with your braids! I"m sure people get you two mixed up on campus!! Your van looks freaking amazing! Can I just live in your van outside your house?!
Good job, but did you end up hemming the holes cut for the seatbelts? Once the sheets are washed they will start fraying and you'll end up with strings caught up in the seat belts if they aren't hemmed.
I wonder if you had a porta potty you could maybe cover it with one on those foldable fabric bins if it's the same size . make sure you stitch around those cut holes in the sheets, they'lle ravel in the wash if you don't. just a thought. very nice set up!
marley looks great. but i do have a recommendation for finishing the edges of the textiles you cut -- both the bottom edge of your blackout curtains AND the sheet slits to pass the seat belts through. over time, friction will create both aesthetic and durabililty issues -- passing those seats through, every night will be a problem for those sheet slits as will opening & closing those blackout curtains. so, two quick, easy & cheap options here -- first, a sewing product called Fray Check. crafters use it for lots of things, but it's a type of fabric glue that will, at the very least, bond those cut edges and keep them from fraying. a better option is a 2-3 step process, of which the Fray Check is step 1. Step 2 would be cutting bias tape, and applying it to all those cut edges, and for that you could use a product called Heat Bond which serves as a fabric adhesive between two textiles AND comes in a wide variety of widths. You would cut both the Bias Tape and the Heat Bond tape to the desired length, following the manufacturer's recommended instructions, applying the Heat Bond to the Bias Tape first, and then applying the Heat Bonded Bias Tape to the cut edges. For best durability, i would recommend actually sewing those in place as an additional step, but this process will at least make clean, neat edges that will ensure a longer lasting product, possibility more comfortability when you sleep, and that you'll be proud of when showing off marley to all your new friends! both of these products are widely available at places like Walmart & JoAnn Fabrics. Good luck! What an adventure! :)
Thank you so much! I found mine on Craigslist. You may need to drive a bit of a ways to find the right one for you! Definitely not something you just wanna jump into if you aren't sure :)
Thank you so much for making this video!! As someone just starting out wanting a van for festivals and traveling this is perfect. Looks great too. Keep up the good work man, sending positive vibrations in your direction. 🏵✌
Looking good guys some simple but effective ideas there, just hope there is more on things like extra battery and solar. All the best from way down under NZ
I love love love this . so creative & fun. I can't believe how many disrespectful comments I'm seeing.. This was YOUR idea. YOUR van. Not everyone has to like it. We are all creative in our own way. That's what makes it beautiful.
You should totally buy some fold out chairs and eat outside your van, also, when you use your mini stove you might need a second space for counters. Also wont clothes hang in your face? And how are you going to wash your clothes? Go to the bathroom? Storing food might be a big issue... And what about hygiene Aaaaaa im sorry im getting anxiety over things that you all probably already figured out Dont mean to be negative, its just a couple of things to think about :)
It's totally okay to have questions! I ended up taking the clothes down so I could see out the window and only really hang things for a night or two at a time. I wash my clothes at laundry mats, shower at gyms (Planet fitness) and only store food that doesn't go bad in heat. :)
I'm happy with my van! Stayed in it multiple times, so not just a "good try". Everyone is different and everyone likes different things! :) What's a swap meet?
JessaJayVlogs A swap meet is trading materials. Money is not exchanged. Now you know what a rock swap is too! Vanlifers bring together their skills and help each other, usually at the RTR in Quartzite, AZ.

I live in it full time :)

SWEETEST COMMENT EVER! Thank you!
Money is a major factor for a lot of people doing ‘build outs’. These two girls are probably supported by mom and dad...js
@@bloubrown802 ... or maybe they have part time jobs. If Ma n Pa were in the mix maybe it would be a total fit out.

You should have installed The middle wire shelves upside down so it would be like a tray and things would not slide off.

why put stove top under bed instead of with "kitchen"? how are you gonna sleep with seat belts on top of your bed?

Yep. Working on it. But for me, I'm okay with keeping it simple for a while and living more on the edge.
I bring water jugs with me on trips and do all these things outside, so I don't really think it's a must for van life.
