I have to say, making the bed pull-out in 3 pieces was utter genius! Not just for the L shape, but I have seen so many people struggle to pull that whole 6 foot piece out in one shot. Plus the way she did the cutouts for storage underneath, *and on hinges*! BRILLIANT!
Amy is truly pretty amazing. I think she did wonders with the van. Great ideas and super use of space. Even her dog fits in perfectly. The only trouble is it makes you think "why didn't I do something liked that when I was younger". Super.
Good on you April, determination is the key. Even looks like the work involved in making it would be fun. Wishing you well with it. One super way to see the country.
I once had a small very basic folding caravan and did a lot of work on that to make it suitable for full-time living in. Included a toilet and shower, built in gas stove and fridge, gas fired central heating and, of course, hot and cold running water - the constant constraint being that the entire interior had to be collapsible for the outer to fold ready for towing on the road. A very interesting experience in using one's head and creating different things and ways of doing things.
yup...humanity is alive & well, in dome places, not all, but then again, its been that way for centuries... cowboys, Indians, lions, tigers & bears. We just have to be determined not to get caught up in another persons woes, wars, & agendas, lest we forget that's how we lose the sense of who WE are. Just let the others be.. like bees & wasps...they have a purpose on this planet, but its best to not bother them, just keep a clear head & keen eye, wear shoes & avoid putting your hands or your butts on or near them😒 Stay out of their space & make discriminating adjustments to keep them out of yours & all will be well😒😉 or atleast better💕
If you add a string or locking hinge to the two drop down doors under the counter, you would have a couple little tables to hold coffee cups or a place to put stuff you pull out to get to the items you want in the back. Love the tour. Thank you!
I have been watching these types of videos for a couple of months now. It is really amazing how many women do this by themselves its really inspiring. It is such a bold move it really is good for them!
When tent camping a few years ago, we used a shower curtain with the rings, attached to a hula hoop, which was tied to the stand-up tent frame by four tightly-tied pieces of twine of various lengths. It worked great for a private bathroom. We had a five-gallon bucket, small garbage bags & a trowel to complete the ensemble. Blessings!
When you're young, it's not too bad having to slouch thru-out the van, but older-farts like me need to stand.....Terrific job on your conversion, I'm also a full-timer !
I dunno, I'm looking at converting a van/SUV for trips because it seems like such luxury compared to a tent, now that my back is hosed. I suppose it's all relative. This seems like a HUGE upgrade to crawling in/out of tents.
Wonderful build, the leaking doors can be fixed with a simple trim. Just use a razor knife and a marker. Close the door's trace where the seal touches and carefully trim off the excess. You might need to glue a few spots but it will be watertight and mold won't be able to grow on the carpet. Very nice van! You have an excellent living space. But please have your propane done properly. Velcro isn't a seal and there's a vent that needs to be placed in the lowest area of the storage box. We need people like you in the community and I would feel terrible not telling you about the propane problem. Happy travels! Beeps.
Yes, not being able to fully stand up is a problem for us older people, but it's a start for anyone, young or old and beats a tent anyday. I like that she has water and cooking facilities indoors rather than off the back end, which is difficult when the weather is bad. I very much commend this young lady for doing this, rather than like most her age, floundering around wasting their lives. She deserves a pat on the back for that and for having the courage to strike out on her own! It's a nice van!
Very nice van home. Thanks for sharing. You are a Very Brave, adventurous, self-confident, intelligent AND attractive, free spirit! What a sweet dog too..very relaxed in his environment & you enjoy & appreciate each others company😊 **Traveling with pets is not as easy when having to leave them for long periods of time in the closed up van, if they cant go with you. You are lucky if they don't chew up everything while you are away due to anxiety. 😒 They really are no different than children in that way...But chew toys, a special blanket & a teddy bear without small parts he can accidently swallow, are good to keep him company. Plus a full bowl of water & dry food to keep him from getting too anxious about when you will return. Also, Putting down a large puppy pad you can buy an inexpensive supply of at Walmart ...helps to curb accidents if your pup or kitty, knows that is where they can go ( & avoid punishment), if they cant wait for you to return for a walk😌💕 Happy & safe travels!!🌈💫🌲
Hadrian Smith; couldn't agree more. Living in Australia and don't necessarily want to go all out and buy a camper so thinking of doing something similar with a small van. Just going to go for the single (possibly king-single) bed and a small kitchen set up similar to this one. Great job, simple, very practical and easy to set up. [Edit] Sorry, the point about living in Australia was that I probably wont have to worry about the heavy insulation that is required in Northern Hemisphere. Not too many places that will get too far below freezing that often. ;-}
My most favorite camper conversion! It simple yet I think suitable for country like lndonesia, less weight which is good for off roads. Hopefully anytime soon I'll hit the road like you do. Stay safe and happy xx
hmm i have mixed feelings about that. I always like to hear the "why" they choose to live like this. Was is for fun, is it a challenge you set for yourself, are you saving for something and is this just the cheapest way to still have a roof over your head. did you fall on hard times and this is the result, do you have a very active life and this is the midway between having a car and a caravan... I like to know that stuff.. but maybe that is just me.
Ive recently bought one of these vans which im also going to convert in the next month or so, for weekends away, i previously lived in my bus for four years which i converted myself and travelled round the Uk, its a great lifestyle.
That sink tho!!! That is officially my favorite sink of all the ones I've seen in tiny builds. So personal. Beautiful van, Amy. Also your dog is hilarious... didn't even bat an eye as you were converting your bed haha!
Right..why not just trim the top carpet off around that area for a better fit?..it seems like such an ez fix there must be some legit reason she hasn't done that..👍😉
cool van, I van lifed for about 4 months and it was literally just a folded up futon in the back with some bins. My advice to anyone wanting to trying it, just do it, you dont need a working kitchen or anything, there are libraries/colleges/7-11 for that shit just put a mattress in and go, btw you dont need to buy really expensive material for window covers, just go to home depot, buy reflector strips and trace it to your window, go to michaels and buy some double sided Velcro and presto, easy and cheap, I think most van lifers over think it tbh
I'm planning on doing almost the same conversion on a Citroen Jumpy 2007. The dimensions are pretty much the same, so this video gave me a lot of useful tips and ideas on how to deal with space. Thank you very much.
Sweet n simple van for a solo/couple with minimal gadgets n no fancy/crazy/extra decor. People forget that one cannot get all comforts of house as one opts for a nomadic life......👌👍🌹
Full marks to you Amy! Such a practical approach to achieve a great result without spending megga bucks and getting the enjoyment at the end ! WELL DONE !!
Definitely going to copy that bed set up but maybe only with 2 slideouts..the kitchen set up is just about perfect..love the sealed gas box..smart..but I still scare at the thought of a propane tank in my minivan..good job young lady👍😉
Wow ... this is one of the better small van conversions I've seen. Nice job - and thanks for sharing. I just bought a Toyota Sienna to convert, and you've given me some good ideas.
My phone decided to play your video while I was out turning off the generator . So i watched because you're so cute. Good build sister. Your fellow tribe member. PS I learned that part of Ireland sounds pretty American. Namaste.
This is AWESOME! I'm in the process of buying a Ford Transit Connect and can't wait to convert it simliar to what you did here. I wish you the very best in your safe travels.
Well done you. Live your life don’t get stuck with the mortgage and never getting the chance to do what your doing now Spending your youth travelling and climbing , superb. Good on you. I back packed for weeks when I was young and still have great memories . Enjoy, best wishes.
This has to be the best and simplest mini van conversion I've seen. I'm going to get a van in the future and this setup I'll follow up to a point. Thanks for sharing! 👍
2.39 : this way the propane/ Bhutan is used is NOT safe and as far as I know not street legal all over Europe, at least in DACH. For a reason. Bottle must be fixed, bottle box must be gas tight, bottle box must have an exit to the outside (of the car) - this of course to the bottom, as gas is heavier than air and of course nowhere near the exhaust. Note this is not any kind of criticism of your camper, life style or yourself. It's a common safety advise for you and everyone 50 meter near your camper, anyone who uses gas and has no clue about physics.
der Jack great advice! This gas box is definitely not legit but it was a quick fix the day before leaving on the ferry. All internal joints are sealed with silicone and the removable front panel is magnet-fixed to sit snug against a rubber seal. The box is vented via a pipe in the bottom back corner (not shown)which goes directly through the vanfloor to the outside and the pipe hole in the top is also silicone sealed. The box is made to the bottle's dimensions but there is a little bit of wiggle room to get it in (as seen with the foot pushing it). Hope that alleviates some fear! Ps I don't advocate this way, a proper metal container is much more preferable!
Good point about placing a gas tank. I use 10kg tank and am about to buy Toyota hiace. You have made me think about placement. No don't wish to cut hole in van wall. Perhaps leave near door? Air vent near same door. Need to think about that. As for poop New Zealand has parking regulations about internal toilets. Many areas forbid camping without.
for the Leak they have extra rubber gaskets that you stick on on ebay for like 10-20 bucks. For my apartment door i noticed Air and dust and rain water out coming in from the outside.
That's a very clever and creative conversion - I did similar in a Kangoo van some years ago. (I have concerns about the gas though - I think the locker needs to be fireproof, drop-vented and accessed from the outside of the van, not the interior. )

+Vandog Tales... can you buy propane when you get to your destination, rather than leaving it in van on the ferry? Just incase of unexpected inspection or rough waters enroute? Just a thought. Personally, those stoves you use with small butane cans, are perfect for boiling water if you need it for bathing or dishes. I do that at my offgrid house I am in process of fixing up. I only buy propane in coldest months of winter for my Buddy Htrs. I use it up & then keep my 3. 20lb canisters stored EMPTY until the following winter. No need for large propane tank. Tip for bathing & laundry...Buy a large durable plastic storage container, large enough to sit in or atleast stand & pour water over yourself to bath. when not in use use is for storing bedding, linens, clothes etc, that you can remove quickly to bath, then empty, wipe dry & put everything away. If you don't have a gym membership you can use for bathing, this idea works for atleast 2-baths a week without too much hassle. As long as you have access to cold water you can heat it up in a large pot on your stove. Its worked for me for going on 2 years. You can even wash & rinse a small amount of clothes in an emergency. Even in a large bucket, then put clothes on hangers outside to drip dry with fewer wrinkles, hanging from a tree😊🌲
+Sharon King ...p.s. That's how I bath my pup too, every few weeks in warm weather. Just have plenty of towels handy for indoor baths or dogs will shake the water off onto everything in your little house😛
I'd take a furry friend but you can't take them everywhere and who will watch them if so? Lovely setup. It's always nice to also hear some positive feedback on the experience than just showcasing a van tour. Lovely!
I have to say, making the bed pull-out in 3 pieces was utter genius! Not just for the L shape, but I have seen so many people struggle to pull that whole 6 foot piece out in one shot. Plus the way she did the cutouts for storage underneath, *and on hinges*! BRILLIANT!
While the whole video was very cool to watch my favourite is the doggo just chilling there like a pillow.
He was so unimpressed by it all.
Amy is truly pretty amazing. I think she did wonders with the van. Great ideas and super use of space. Even her dog fits in perfectly.
The only trouble is it makes you think "why didn't I do something liked that when I was younger". Super.
Grandpa Can Cook lol. I just said that a few mins ago. But I'm determined to do this!!!

Mary Ann, pretty interesting. Thank You
so true, Grampa..👍✌🌲🌈💫
This is the first conversion I've seen with a sealed gas compartment! Kudos!
This is what I would go for sizewise if it was just me and a dog. Definitely my favourite vanlife video so far.

“For all the food that I don’t remember I have.” Hahahaha. Same, girl. Same.
This is so cozy. Love the shot of her cooking dinner in the evening. Can't wait for this to be me!!!
I love that the dog doesn't move even when Amy is moving everything to show us the bed etc. Great little van. Enjoy x
She is originally from Ireland, that's why she's sound

Terrific choice Matt !
Yes, I got pretty twisted up like a pretzel in spite of having a full bed platform.
Yeah, we have a self-converted expert (for 17 years now). Next one will have a pop-top now we're a bit more aged.
One of my favorites so far. Lots of problems with materials but the concept is very well thought out, clean and uncluttered.
Wonderful build, the leaking doors can be fixed with a simple trim.

Nice to see more Irish people doing this! I have spotted some people in Cork recently. I did laugh when I heard the Luas in the background XD

Only 1000 euros to fit out that van? She did a great job for that budget 👍
Delightful young woman gives van life appealing chill. Curious about venting / condensation issues, if any (?).
@@rickpedretti4538 in my van i have small mosquito netting that goes around both front windows and makes it nice and breathable!!
The best design I Have seen so far. I am going to build one

nice that its just on the point that its all about the van in this video and not some boring storys about the people ;D

Well...all together now...GROUP HUG!
I'm in LOVE...again!😘
Cannot wait to share my tiny van build Nate!
Perfect. So many people only talk about their plans or overthink everything. Go for it and live your dream!👍
Taking a thought and making it real. Love it.
Ive recently bought one of these vans which im also going to convert in the next month or so, for weekends away, i previously lived in my bus for four years which i converted myself and travelled round the Uk, its a great lifestyle.
This is exactly what I want to create some day, and it's lovely to see a fellow Irish girl taking on van life. Great video!

This is the best vtiny van tour ive seen so far thank you Amy and pooch!
I admire her courage. The lessons and insights learned will serve her well in the future - not to mention that she'll have cool stories to tell.
This is the most minimal and cutest conversion I've ever seen.❣️
Hmm...she was so very kind to welcome all of us into her home...tons of ideas she shared with your channel in this tour.
That sink tho!!! That is officially my favorite sink of all the ones I've seen in tiny builds. So personal. Beautiful van, Amy. Also your dog is hilarious... didn't even bat an eye as you were converting your bed haha!
The back doors look like an easy fix, am I wrong?
If water can get in then so can the cold.
Right..why not just trim the top carpet off around that area for a better fit?..it seems like such an ez fix there must be some legit reason she hasn't done that..👍😉
cool van, I van lifed for about 4 months and it was literally just a folded up futon in the back with some bins.

There are many set ups in the youtube, but this is the first "home like" camper. Very cozy! Congrats!
Cracks me up that your dog is not even bother by your lifting & moving the bed...reminds me of my little furry babies 😂
Awesome van conversion 😃👍
Estou adorando e pegando varias ideias para fazer em minha van
Jaquicelli l posso ir consigo?
Awesome 😎!!! It’s funny how you moved everything and your doggie stayed on like a boss!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have a low roof van just like your, other people’s video are all high roof van,now I think I can remodel my van too. Thank you so much for the video
I'm planning on doing almost the same conversion on a Citroen Jumpy 2007. The dimensions are pretty much the same, so this video gave me a lot of useful tips and ideas on how to deal with space. Thank you very much.
Such a gorgeous video - i am doing a conversion of this exact van at the moment so THANK YOU xxxx
You have a very chilled, sweet dog. You can lift up the bed and he is not moving hahaha :)
I'm absolutely in love with your lovely dog! She is the best thing about your van! Congratulations on your van.
I'm just amazed at how she did this.
Having the pull out bed in 3 sections is very handy/usefull, as this way it can be handled way better then if it was 1 whole thing.
I love your design and may copy some of it when I'm building out my minivan. Especially love the bed/bench. You did a great job on this.
Definitely going to copy that bed set up but maybe only with 2 slideouts..the kitchen set up is just about perfect..love the sealed gas box..smart..but I still scare at the thought of a propane tank in my minivan..good job young lady👍😉
i love how the dog is laying there like " stop moving the fucking bed mate!" hahaha
Wow ... this is one of the better small van conversions I've seen. Nice job - and thanks for sharing. I just bought a Toyota Sienna to convert, and you've given me some good ideas.
She seems lovely. I can't wait to get a dog and a van and do this
Amy, I couldn't find one thing to not like about you OR your van! Great job!
I Love how simple and practical this is
Perfect little van! She did a great job...and what a cute puppy!
My phone decided to play your video while I was out turning off the generator . So i watched because you're so cute. Good build sister. Your fellow tribe member. PS I learned that part of Ireland sounds pretty American. Namaste.
Very clever construction and setup! That's a beautiful well mannered little puppy too. Thanks for the quality video!!!
Haha if you turn them on the automated captions have her saying "this is my tiny little mini clown perversion" lol
OMG that's priceless!
Gotta love speech to text. LMAO
Ha,ha thanks for that :-D
ha google doesnt do irish accents yet. any time i tried their voice assistants on android it just comes out with nonsense
so the suggested youtube challenge is ...how many clowns can you fit in this vehicle?
This is AWESOME! I'm in the process of buying a Ford Transit Connect and can't wait to convert it simliar to what you did here. I wish you the very best in your safe travels.
Would love to see this if/when you've finished!
Those vans look great and are very economical as well.Fit a roof rack for extra camping equipment and bike - deadly.Great job.
I love her build. Simple and relatable.
Well done you. Live your life don’t get stuck with the mortgage and never getting the chance to do what your doing now
Spending your youth travelling and climbing , superb. Good on you. I back packed for weeks when I was young and still have great memories . Enjoy, best wishes.
Loved it that's exactly what I want to do with my van❣️I just got my van 🚌can't wait to get on the road.🌲🌳🌳
Your van looks SO cozy and homey. And your dog is adorable!!
This has to be the best and simplest mini van conversion I've seen. I'm going to get a van in the future and this setup I'll follow up to a point. Thanks for sharing! 👍
You are such a down to earth person! I love your accent, and you seem so happy.I am happy for you! Good luck and may God bless you!
Really awesome use of minimal space, one of the more well thought out mini conversions i have seen on the youtubes.
2.39 : this way the propane/ Bhutan is used is NOT safe and as far as I know not street legal all over Europe, at least in DACH. For a reason.
Bottle must be fixed, bottle box must be gas tight, bottle box must have an exit to the outside (of the car) - this of course to the bottom, as gas is heavier than air and of course nowhere near the exhaust.

der Jack great advice!
Mycroft Holmes i was thinking the same...
Sadly, this is far better than many self-converted builds in regards to the security and venting of the gas
Don’t disturb the old dog! Beautiful sink. Good stealth van. Love u’re attitude!
I adore your sweet pup. Yes they are the greatest companions. And who cares about hair lol. She loves you unconditionally. You enjoy sweetie!
I really like the idea of the expandable bed. Do you have a video to show how to make it?
this is the best of these kinda vids i've seen and i've been binge watching these for days
I love the dog.
Yeah, the dog is "ruffing" it.
She’s very cute. Love the “lose your inhibitions”. Yes! Freedom!!! Ahhh
for the Leak they have extra rubber gaskets that you stick on on ebay for like 10-20 bucks. For my apartment door i noticed Air and dust and rain water out coming in from the outside.
Great idea to have a guard dog... You should get a guard dog for you dog.
Love the conversion .... looks very comfortable . Glad to see after 6 min. that Poochie was not in a comma, lol
Great! I see you from Italy! 🇮🇹👍😘
I love Ireland! Very cozy van!
She sounds soo humble....
That's all you need! Full-time travel is a good life!
That's a very clever and creative conversion - I did similar in a Kangoo van some years ago. (I have concerns about the gas though - I think the locker needs to be fireproof, drop-vented and accessed from the outside of the van, not the interior. )
Great job building. Love the sink bowl.
Love it! Work on that propane tank. Should be sealed and vented. Be careful with propane.
Hey! Yes indeed to propane safety. This gas box is definitely not legit but it was a quick fix the day before leaving on the ferry.
Lovely!
That's a great little setup, the space it well thought out.
The doggy is precious
