The used car market in Turkey is so out of control, that you pay as much for a used car, as paying for a house... For anyone wondering why that's the case, it's because Turkey has the highest taxes on brand new cars in the world. And that causes the prices in the used car market to also rise.
i just picked up a real minty 1992 cougar with 67k miles no rust (i live in michigan, so that's unheard of on a 30 year old car), for 4750. they wanted 5900 at first. i think it was totally worth it. absolute wonderful car. i really want to make this thing into a racer. basically no body roll and can take turns going 50 mph without tires making noise. i fucking LOVE these cars. my first was a 1997 cougar and that thing was just as awesome.

After the Cash 4 Clunkers program in 2010, the shortage of cool used cars from the 80s and up soared their prices; the overheated economy in the last decade helped to skyrocket even more, so no wonder that millenials aren't buying any cars today.

The whole time you guys were talking about that car, I was just chanting $300,000, devouring the pics with my eyes. And I was the closest. That is a damn great car. Such low miles and original paint.
THAT IS A TREASURE.
I said $200,000 for the Time Machine replica. I've been watching reviews/reactions of the trilogy. So charming. The engineer part of me would be disturbed if those wires in the greenhouse, weren't actually connected to anything. But it's still nice. I'm more into bikes now, but it would be nice to have a Doc Brown DeLorean replica.
Jeremiah's bargain hunting skills must make seeing some of these cars' prices hurt even more.
Good morning donut! I'm closing on my first house today and it has a garage! I have never had one before so Im stoked!! Love the video dtw!
Not donut media, but huge congrats to you
Big moves congrats donut lad
That’s awesome man, hoping to have my own soon too congrats this is def Donut approved!
I appreciate it. Internet buddies! Going to be great!
Congrats, man!
I love everything about the Donut channel
Back in the early 2000s, you could buy a MKIV 6 Speed TT supra from Toyota dealerships used for $35k. In 2008 I bought a 1994 N/A 5 Speed Targa Top MKIV Supra for $11k from Toyota, still have the paper work.
11:09 there's not even a remake 🤣 but yes there is now
Jeremiah continues to be a savant at this game.
It seems the only tactic that worked in this game is guessing a higher price than Jeremiah, as Justin get 1 point from guessing $1 more than Nolan and Jeremiah.
Aside from that... $300K+ FOR A DATSUN? MAN...
As many people said the 240z was unrestored so original and it rusts very easily also they're getting rarer second by second so yea
20k miles bro...
Here i am thinking a used 2012 civic at 15k is overpriced.
Jeremiah’s Indecisiveness on a price to choose was great.
Watching Justins ad reads back on this video, compared to now is fun. Dudes really gotten comfortable in camera.
ah yes the car "over inflation" price vicious cycle :
bad/ average /nothing special car(take for example the AE86) >>> gets included in some tv show or any entertainment media (anime in this case) in the main story (the protagonist car in case of the AE86) >>> tv show/anime/ wound up as a huge success (initial d literally helped shape modern car culture) >>> fans that are illiterate when it comes to vehicles storm the market to buy their "favorite car" which causes the demand to reach the roof >>> prices sky rocket >>> aforementioned illiteracy / tuning and modifying causes maintenance crisis
>>> actual good condition stock cars become rare >>>"mint condition" cars appear >>> the supply / demand balance gets crazier >>> what was a normal every day car becomes an auction worthy collectors treasure >>> donut media makes a video about this topic >>> Nolan becomes thunderstruck >>> pavlov neuron activation >>> dopamine hit >>> happi
**achievement unlocked : How Did We Get Here ?**
* this is just one simple example of how crazy economy can be / media influence can affect it.
Not to mention that donut themselves caused the inflation of the 350z with their hi low series.
I love these videos, please keep them coming. Me and my buddies like to play along and try to guess the price too. With that said, at least three of these didn't have the price hidden, which kind of ruined some of the fun. Please avoid showing the actual price in the video and thumbnail.
When Jeremiah says “you don’t see many of these square bodies” I couldn’t help but laugh. Between myself, my immediate family, and my friends I’d be willing to be we own close to a dozen square bodies 😂
I was thinking the same thing lol
Square bodies that aren't rusted beyond belief. I've seen my fair share of square bodies but none looked as good as that example
Yeah, but they're in LA though.
@@mrbuttons1243 This. Granted BringATrailer is national. And majority of the existing SB's are a lot rougher cosmetically.. I'd bet there are FAR more squarebodies in the south, midwest, probably all over aside from big city/coastal areas. Just like LA prob has WAY more 80s-90s JDM vehicles than say Kansas.
Man you took em all
I guess I’m hangin’ on to my 1990 Volvo 245 sedan
The used car market in Turkey is so out of control, that you pay as much for a used car, as paying for a house... For anyone wondering why that's the case, it's because Turkey has the highest taxes on brand new cars in the world. And that causes the prices in the used car market to also rise.
Demon price spoiler at 2:16
4:14 Wait , how is like 3k off worse , than like 22k off?
Right?
i don't get it neither what happened there :D
Justin is close to the actual selling price, so he got the point. Jerry went over.
All of the cars I have reviewed are now worth a new house. Great vid guys.
i just picked up a real minty 1992 cougar with 67k miles no rust (i live in michigan, so that's unheard of on a 30 year old car), for 4750. they wanted 5900 at first. i think it was totally worth it. absolute wonderful car. i really want to make this thing into a racer. basically no body roll and can take turns going 50 mph without tires making noise. i fucking LOVE these cars. my first was a 1997 cougar and that thing was just as awesome.
I have a 1991 GMC Suburban R1500 that looks practically identical to the 88 aside from 88 being stacked HL and mine being side-by-side. Mine is white and blue two tone, like the 88 model shown, and has a blue interior
In Australia over here, you can go on and see spurs selling for 200K (AUD) all the time (140K USD), the cheapest I could find was 72K (50K USD)
where i live mk4 supras are about 60k cad (45k usd) on average
Mk3 are cheaper thought, at about 18k cad (14k usd)
@@frogwithadog Yeah, where I live, no-one wants mk3, they all want rz
Forgetting to take the sale price out of the photos kinda kills the suspense for the viewer ;) Great vid tho!
Lol yep I noticed it too
Yeah, I think the idea was that we the audience would know, and the suspense for us is to see how close our boys get. But yeah--they should hide the price from us, too.
Not all the cars, but some of them still have the price
It was one car
What the hell are you pathetic liars talking about...ONLY the volvo showed the price and even then it wasnt accurate.
Yall need to stop crying about what doesnt exist
Ones things for sure the thumbnails just keep getting better
Datsun 240Z sells for 20 grand in the uk
This is gold. Great chemistry.
Let’s just give 2022 another round of applause 👏 for once again exceeding our expectations just when we thought nothing could get more ridiculous.😭
The price for the hellcat was shown in the picture y'all showed of it. Says it sold for 173k back on in 21 I think. Lol
3/14/2022 lmao
That poor buyer for the Datsun... he got scammed out of his life's work😂
It was probably bought to launder money.
Whoever edits these videos does a phenomenal job
That Delorean was probably at the Venice car museum I lived near. Also, Honda elements are sought after usually by pet owners and just by people that get the interiors dirty regularly. You can pretty much take a hose to the whole interior.
This just isn't fair, we all knowJeremiah just has Ebay, Marketplace, and Craigslist open whenever cameras aren't rolling. 😂
Ridge wallet is INSANELY overpriced.
Agreed
Amazon gets me the same for 30 bucks or less. Idk why ppl pay so much for all these ad products they are always overpriced
@@Tomberculosis-q1i the kid who went to college for marketing needs some justification when he gets hired by a corporate overlord to sell things people dont need come on now
its just an elastic band solution that keeps them from bending and being damaged as fast as putting all your stuff in a rubber band would fold and wear out your things. it isn't a wallet. it's more of a money clip i could make one with elastic webbing and wood and id like it better cause i made it. but i don't need a money clip
@@Tomberculosis-q1i got one from amazon and it got beat up in about 2 weeks. Metal dented and body warped. Bought a ridge after and ive had it for 2 years still same as the day i bought it
After the Cash 4 Clunkers program in 2010, the shortage of cool used cars from the 80s and up soared their prices; the overheated economy in the last decade helped to skyrocket even more, so no wonder that millenials aren't buying any cars today.
Everyone is buying cars. Bro this is supply and demand like no other.
Thanks Obama
It was cool living a town over from where these vehicles were held, they were put on the airport strip and sold. The cars were all low mileage, and sold for crazy money. It was $1,500/$5,000 deposit to join the auction!
I know a guy who owns a comic book that is graded and worth over $40,000. He has hundreds of these graded comics and thinks they are worth at least $100K total. I think I would rather invest $100K in a nice 964. Point being, some people have a lot of money, that they don't really need.
Up 2 speed on senna please and thank you!
INDEED!
I saw the thumbnail and I immediately was infuriated by it.
Let me remind you that a 240z is a EVERYONE SPORTSCAR back in the day and should be an EVERYONE CLASSIC today. I own a really clapped out one and I love driving it and thrashing around the mountains in it.
But seeing one being sold for that amount of money really breaks my heart. I can legit see the cars that I love and own turning into something that I hate, a collectors caged bird for their own selfish pleasures. I'm sorry, but to whom that buy cars just to look at them and for collection and using it as an invesent and investment only. You are just taking what's us to enjoy for your own selfish needs and I am really disappointed.
Also love this series, keep it coming. That's just my rant.
Anyone willing to pay 300k for a 240z even with the cars historical significance, is a chump. You could 100 percent restore a beat one for less money.
Yeah. How dare people spend their money to buy something that they want! And then they have the gall to enjoy appreciating it by looking at it and as a part of a collection without the need to thrash it around?... Cry about it more.
@@bitfreakazoid by your logic, we should be able to just buy animals from the wild and keep them in your own hold. Which we are able to and if that doesn't say something.
@@GrenMambaS30 What?
Ok, if you had a pristine 240z or any other "everyone classic" you would be happy selling it for a fraction of the value you could get for it? And the entire reason that good examples like the one in this video go for so much is because they're so rare, there's plenty of clapped out z's floating around that are rusted to shit or have awful mods done to them, but a real pristine condition z is hard to come by.
Price is relative. For people with large amounts of wealth, they'll buy whatever they want without second guessing the fact that it's overpriced
Love these.. I had that Volvo.. DANGGGGG I paid $1500 for it in 1995 from a friend and it was MINT
Justin was so fun on the Supra, haha jumping on like a kid really cool (y)
Day 415 of asking Donut to bring old B2B back
that would be epic
#donutmedia pleaseeeeee🥲
Yess I love all of their current shows but I’d love to see the OG b2b again ñ
It's annoying that you all keep posting the sold for price when you show the pictures, it was done multiple times.
102 like, what’s that sound like in Spanish lol siento dos 😂
$310,000 for the Z, made my hairs shiver 🥶
L spoiler L person
That 240z is sick, i was not surprised by that price tag.
Love this series!! Cause it’s so fun to play along!!
