I think I’ve watched it more times than any other movie. A genuine masterpiece of camerawork, dialogue, storytelling, style, and acting. Especially Pacino’s acting. Of the 3 greats in the movie, I think his dialogue delivery was the most effortless and natural.

The way they portrayed the violence was done so well. They show so may deaths in so many ways you start to think someone will get killed in almost every scene, making what could seem like just a regular scene into an intense one. Also the eerie shots like the overhead one of the cars making that turn before Hoffas death and many others really lead into that constant danger. Although that stomping out scene was unintentionally hilarious

Thinking about how we are about to see the things crescendoing towards an end with Marty's work had me all emotional, we don't have a successor to him in any shape or form or spirit. He encouraged ao many filmmakers to just act and do what they want to gave confidence to tell stories. We ahould be indebted to his body of work, just the sheer number of films he makes because he loves to make films.

I absolutely adore this film. I think it is a melancholy masterpiece on the passage of time, life altering decisions, and soul destroying betrayal and regret. Yes it is about the mafia and real life, world changing events that the mob took part in. But at its heart it is about Time. My favorite subject. My lone complaint about the film is that they did not get a stand in for De Niro for kicking the guy scene. It’s an embarrassing eye sore on an otherwise gorgeous painting. Have no idea why Martin S. kept it in the film. The guy labors over every minuscule detail of his films. So this will always remain a mystery to me. But alas, the fact that this film didn’t win a single Oscar is an utter disgrace.
