On youtube the spear is visible for literally 6 frames. Obviously Faker's monitor refreshes at a higher rate so it'd be there for more frames - but it's still only there for a split second.

That's the craziest thing I've seen in a while. He leaves menu, sees the spear for 0.01seconds, goes back into menu, leaves menu and parries.

I guess when he saw the spear he just wanted to check Nida items to calculate if it would actually kill him before deciding to parry it.

To those who did not notice, the spear can be seen before he tabs but most people noticed it right before the block. The fact of the matter is that even if faker noticed the spear before he tabbed, he is still a monster for noticing something so subtle and the reaction is still godlike if not robotic..

Man, I spotted the red blob that was the spear, but my mind would have gone to "What is that?" and after my death I would have realized it must have been a spear. That Faker's brain took the visual queue and immediately transitioned into "PRESS W" is hella impressive and just shows his experience and how it has wired his brain over the years.

Experience to know Nidalee was around there and calculated the exact time it would take for her to reach the exact point when the spear would be lauched to at least hit.
And talent to, due assuming IT IS a possibility and "could" potentially happen, parry it on time. Because if the spear was not launched...it´s fine. You just parried nothing and nobody cares. You´re still 100% safe to recall again.
