Imo faker has a ton of solo q plays that are way more impressive that built his reputation. He has a lot of competitive ones, but the ones in solo q are so insane, like the karthus clip when hes literally dodging everything

exactly, this is because of probabilities, he spams 1k games soloQ while in competitive scenarios there are less than 50 games throughout the tournament, and well the dynamics of the gameplay are different too, more fighting in soloQ usually

To me the most impressive thing about Faker is that he executed these incredibly mechanical plays before most pro players did. He basically invented having insane mechanics!
He also basicly invented the entire mid lane macro and was the first person to truely master a position in league of legends

even though the play wasn;t anything flashy like the Zed game, Faker's best ever game/series I think was 2017 World Semi where faker usue Galio in all 5 games, even most Chinese/LPL fans would consider that series one of best one-man carry series of all time

RNG was the strongest at that time .. destroyed Samsung(the one beat T1 3-0 in the final ) 2 times at group stage.. if that wasn't Faker I think Uzi and RNG probably had his 1st world title that he wish for

Honestly people giving faker all of the credit for the 10K gold comeback has completely ruined the clip. It seems like CaptainFlowers call “fakers shock wave finds them all” is why people get lost in that trap, but that play was completely set up by wolf.

@@OttoIncandenza I have no issue with the call!flowers has always been one of my favourites because his sound bytes are so legendary, as a TL fan the “back-back-back-back” call gives me goosebumps!
Fakers shockwave did find them all, and it made for an amazing sound byte as well. The call is definitely the cherry on top of the play, I just wish more people accredited wolf for setting it up rather than giving it to faker because he’s the goat.

@@deejaay387 of course, ori’s Ult has always been one of the most impactful ults in the game. I don’t have any issues with people saying it was amazing shockwave, or that it completed the play.
My quarrel lies with people who watch that video and think Faker smurfed it. It’s a legendary clip I refer back to often and even had the pleasure of watching live, but sadly my enthusiasm is drained every time people give the majority of the credit to faker. Even if they just said SKT smurfed it, I’d have no problems!
It’s like how we celebrate Neil Armstrong for being the first man on the moon, but in reality the people who built the space ship should be equally if not more recognized… yet I can’t name a single one.
I think of an realy underrated Play By faker which probably no one even remembers.
Even i dont remember in which years worlds or against which Team it was done.
But faker Played ahri, and was Level 5 close to 6,when the Enemy Team ganked him and his flash would Not have Saved him on its own.
He then realised hes 1 minion away from Level 6. he flashed into the Enemy minion wave, bursted 1 minion down to get his Level 6 instantly skilled ulti, and used his 3 dashes to escape the sittuation.
Just the fact he processed the only way to survive and recognized everything so fast is Insane to me
some of his old plays are average now, but at the time they were great. also faker has much better plays than what was chosen.
I remember seeing a video of another pro (i think IWD) talking about the first time he seen someone tank tower at max range while a teammate dove to get a kill, then walking away without dying. It was a huge deal when it happened, but now most decent players should know how to do that, even if in the moment they can't execute. Faker is the same thing, he showed how good reactions, and more importantly predictions, can make for great plays.

His life story is inspiring, his father and grandparents sound fantastic, his gameplay is inspiring, his longevity is breathtaking, and T1 would be just another top tier team if not for him, not the Magnum Opus of e-sports like he made it. CaptainFlowers addressed the Fakers Shockwave call in a video. The gist is that it was a very good team play, but often times those massive stuns aren't converted into aces like that, the shockwave was the most noticeable part of it. He described it as seeing the health bars turn red was what stuck out to him, and in the moment the call was made. He obviously didn't have time to figure out what the best call would be before saying it, he just rode the hype and said something. I do agree Wolf should have more credit as well though. The full charm/knockup plus the chogath silence, it was all perfect.

For me the best faker play is in skirmish on bottom lane he is using leblanc and his clone already pop up and he use it as a shield, (he's passive walks away far away to instantly pop up to his side) but for doing that he already predict that skill shot landing from him so his passive angle pop immediatley to the right spot where the skill shot land

The 1st clip was an average play by now but not before. Faker taught the league world how to save your flash and zhonya's till really needed and it became a norm nowadays and even being over saving their flash or stopwatch that players die miscalculating like most NA players do lol.

5:51 Flowers got turbo cooked for calling out Faker's Shockwave instead of Wolf's engage, but I have no idea why. The Shockwave grabbed all 5 players and made it super easy for Bang to skeet shoot all of EDG
Because it was a shockwave that a blind gold monkey could have followed up on. The entire pathing of Wolf hugging the wall to reduce vision and get the 4 man charm and knock up + Huni Flash W with Cho'gath to silence them all , gathered them all up in 1 spot for Faker to just press R once they did all the work. It was 70% Wolf, 20% Huni and 10% Orianna R.

He got focused. He said this during his down years, that he was trying to adapt to being dove 3-4 man all the time. It takes an amazing player to adapt to so much pressure.
Mayo. Mayo is so versatile. You can use it in so many things. You can use it to cook with instead of oil/butter(since it is oil) it makes the best grilled cheeses, you can use it to make stuff like tuna/chicken/ham salads, you can use it to make coleslaw, you can use it as a dip(i use it for fries over ketchup. Very popular in Europe), you can do so many things with it. Ketchup is so one dimensional.
Don't get me wrong I like ketchup(whataburger ketchup 4ever) but mayo is just *that* good.

The thing about Faker is he gets MASSIVELY hyped as a blanket statement, and then a lot of people become haters because in reality he might not even be top 10 mechanically. But what's massive about Faker's playing isn't just some "best ever crazy mechanical plays", it's a mixture of very elite mechanical playing with incredibly composed strategy and leadership. It's the IRL aura buff effect he has to every team hes been on while in high pressure scenarios. Guiding them to set up crazy game opening moments, and then having the skill to execute correctly on those moments.
honestly other than the cassio r turn and the zed vs zed, the others are just extreme average and something that a mid elo lol player could do. like ori R on rakan is free, ori flash for the R was nice but also very easy

Nowadays, Faker plays champs that set up the team or follow up and his playstyle now is more focused on that I think. Rather than his old Zed, Leb and his other mid lane carries. Now it's not flashy, but he does a lot of little things really well that affects little things in important parts of the map they're going for. His basics, timing, discipline and his actions at every interval timing of the game is just maxed out now. It's not flashy but I'm looking at when he backs off, when he positions himself here and it's not flashy but in my brain it's like "holy shit, that's a really good thing and does 3 things for the map. That little thing he did makes it advantageous for his team if enemy does something here" and shit like that.
