Hope you guys are having a beautiful and restful weekend? This tutorial shows how make the elegant welt pocket. There so many ways to make this pocket design and this is how I go about doing mine. Hope you try it out for yourself in your free time. I suggest making test versions with scrap material to get the science behind it before making the welt pocket on your real garment.

i'm a safety-freak so i extend the back panel of the pocket bag upwards to join the finish inside the waistband to r e a l l y make sure its never gonna come undone lol it also makes sure that the burden of the load of whatevers in the pocket is shared between the waistband and pocket seams, making it a bit more stable.
Hello, Thanks for the video, very clear, however I have a question. the stitching was at 0,5 each side so 1 cm, but the pocket flap coming out was 1,5 so I was struggling to pull it out and even tho I cut until the stitch on the triangle it still didn't fit well, maybe I misunderstood something, thanks
Hi Kim.....explanation was clear..... welt pocket came out clean..... my only question is about when you open the pocket, why am I seeing the upper strip of fabric?... I hope you understand what I am rambling on about....lol lol
