Hi, I did my tailoring apprenticeship 40+ years ago and worked in Savile Row, London. It’s good to see a young person sticking with tradition. Good to see the wood block in use. Our irons had no steam and no thermostat so we used a triple layer pressing cloth, 1 layer light weight cotton, one layer pure linen and one layer light weight wool which we would dampen with a ‘swab’ we never burnt any garments as the pressing cloth would always burn first.
Thank you for sharing your tailoring secrets, I really enjoyed watching your videos. It was very helpful in seeing how each step creates the best double welt pockets. I look forward to seeing more videos. Thanks again.
Thank you from the US for this very detailed tutorial! So many small things I never would have thought of. Your English is great as well. I am trying to learn to sew trousers as I can never find what I want in stores. I am so glad to have found your channel and hope that you are safe. ❤️🇺🇦
watched &tried many ways to make this style but wasted my two days. you tell it and show it perfectly. Wish this video just came up as 1st in search. Thank you so much! you are extremely skillful
Manchester England UK I'm currently making a bag for my bike. I'm laughing right now, you day about women changing minds, I have had so many ideas of how I want the bag and right now I have pockets everywhere-on the floor lol, and seam ripper has been working hard... I'll get there soon as I stop changing my mind. Thanks for your video, very helpful
I am busy looking for advice for a welt pocket with a flap but, when I heard you are from Ukraine I just had to subscribe❤. Sending love from Cape Town in South Africa💛💙
I’m originally from Ghana but now living in California. My goal is to be fashion designer with emphasis on more of mens design and with 20% of womens style
I'm a 68year old mining engineer, machinist, with a 5th hobby of sewing. Actually collecting/restoring sewing machines. I am making a Christmas vest for a friend. So I need to know how to make a welted pocket. Thanks. pants (as we call trousers in Arizona) I will try next. Maybe if the vest turns out.
My mother was a tailor. I learned a bit of it when I was young. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I ended up becoming a medical doctor. But I still have the passion I picked from my mother. That desire for perfect cut and perfect stitch is almost entirely missing in the young tailors in my country, Nigeria. It makes me so mad that I am considering retiring from medical practice to pursue that desire to do things right, for the sake of it. It pains me that many young people no longer about the passion. They just want the money. But I have never seen money go where there is no passion!
I see passion and service as major driving tools when it comes to choosing a profession. Unfortunately, this world promotes less of that and more of money, fame, recognition, etc ... If you lack the passion where you are, then by all means run😂😂
Hello Queen. My name is Moses from South Africa. I'm impressed by your tutorial on men's welt pocket. What kind of pocket bags and lining do you use? Because I can see that you don't use trouser belting, and your Waist belt is thicker. (That's the kind of Waist I wanna specialise with). Thank you very much.
Thank for kind words. I use 100 percent cotton pocket bags and non adhesive interlining. for waistband I use same interlining plus canva ( which used for jackets as well).
Hello, I am Pablo from Panama. were can we buy this non adhesive interlining? here in my country there are not much sources of tayloring supplies, we only get the white pellon, can this be used instead? can it be bought on amazon or ebay?

Fantastic masterclass but constantly using ‘gonna’???? Are you gonna sign up to an English masterclass? You’re far too fluent in English to indulge in this sloppiness…
