- So you wanna get a loan, but you're worried your credit score isn't good enough - or you don't even know what your score is? In this week's video I'll share how to check your credit score for free and also how to improve your credit score fast (although some things do take time).
Having a good credit score can be very useful for a number of reasons - you get the best interest rates, you can borrow more than other people and you generally get less BS when applying for credit.
I personally use GetCreditScore.com.au in Australia to check my credit score - they use Experian for their ratings.

Thank Ray! That was exactly the explanation i needed! Not too difficult to understand and perfect for someone like me who's learning about credit rating for the first time. Glad to here it from someone who is Australian also :D
Awesome Brad, glad it helped mate and thanks for watching
Thank you :-) Very informative..
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Hi mate. What I do according to my research is I use the credit card normally but I paid almost the whole amount before the last day of the statement period and then only around 5% is shown as "debt" to be paid by certain due date that is normally in 2 weeks time. That's how I manage to always keep my utilization rate low
That’s awesome - I pay myself in my business every 2 weeks so I just end up paying it off in full when I get paid
Keeps it simple!
What about balance transferring credit card debt for interest free terms is this a good thing for the score ?
Repeatedly doing it is probably a bad idea
Doing it once I wouldn’t expect it to have too much impact
Generally chopping and changing new cards could be seen as a problem
Overall it’s a good idea to just get rid of any ‘bad’ debt
Is credit score really just how good you are at paying debt? No credit means no credit score for example?
Yep pretty much. Generally a good idea to get a history because majority of people would at the least get a credit card and a home loan at some point. Doesn’t need to be a top score or anything but you’d want to show some record of good payment history and habits
I just checked my score and its 1007 :)
Nice work mate! Great score
