i included no foot no hook snatches recently into my training and now the snatch feels much smoother and safer in a way, i catch it with much more confidence. definitely a great accessory!
I like to use no-foot snatch to reinforce using arms / finishing the pull, and to avoid jumping forward. Your form is exceptional and good to watch and emulate. Excellent videos!
Hi Gabriel, great video! A suggestion for a video: what to do if weightlifting pants/shorts are tearing around mid thigh from the bar contact, what can we do technically to avoid it? Or is it not an issue at all?
The problem there is at the pants/shorts are you using. I will recommend to try something from my merch site, super-weightlifting.com high quality training pants
Interesting point about power output and max strength. So would it be best to increase max strength in back squat and then remain with low reps to maintain power before peaking the classic lifts? It seems like low reps with the heaviest weight you are still able move fast would be best for back squats if the goal is power maintenance
There are different versions of the no foot snatch - with toes or without toes and stay on heel on entire lift. What are the pros and cons training the two variations?
Why would anyone want to practice this? Surely you are forced to pull with the same foot spacing that you receive the snatch with. Few people do that. Most of us jump apart when we catch the snatch. I wouldn’t want to practice pull with the wider foot position that I squat with. Learning bad habits
If you have someone who jumps forwards or backwards this is a good constraint to get them to extend more vertically as opposed to leaning back or using all hips and not quads in the extension and flinging it out. Good way to be more connected to the bar aswell. Obviously no one has to do this variation it’s just another tool in the tool box to get a specific outcome

If slow is smooth and smooth is fast, then slow is fast
And fast is smooth? It’s all encompassing
