Since the Crimson, unlike the Corruption, can't actually convert Hallowed blocks, but the Hallowed can convert Crimson blocks, even a single seed is enough to take down the Crimson. Keep in mind that this doesn't work for the Corruption.
This is why I build a tunnel around my evil biomes lined with uncorruptible blocks. Once on my initial evil biome during pre hardmode, and then again when the new one spawns after WoF. I don't mind the hallow, because it doesn't destroy my jungle. I like to play for a long time on my worlds.

@@dasheiten I can confirm that they do spread over each other despite what the wiki may say I've noticed the boundaries shift around with regards to their respective stone types In my main expert world I have actually seen the corruption win against the hallow once in a small inlet so I have no idea where the notion that Corruption can't spread over the hallow comes from. The Crimson I imported hasn't fared nearly as well but that may have to do with it starting out with nothing. The boundaries noticeably tend to be fairly stable unless they are very small patches that started out quite biased from the beginning.
That's the annoying thing about the Hallow and the two corruptions. It's really easy to stop the spread of the corruptions, but the Hallow continues and makes your entire world Hallow instead. Is there an easy way to have an unspreading hard mode world?

Yeah, that's pretty accurate. I actually had this happen to me in one of my worlds, from a singular block of corruption placed by a demon alter. I stumbled across "a bit of" corruption underground, so i decided to check to see how big it was so i could enclose it. So i went to go around it, and kept going, and kept going, AND KEPT GOING. if I'm remembering right, since this was a few years ago, in terms of hight it was like from mid/upper caverns to the underworld. Yeah...
Could've went for Hallowed too and what exactly happend if hallowed and corruption collides, afaik they still fluctuate and convert each others blocks but at roughly the same rate, so it stays more or less the same, but I'm not 100% sure. Edit: Apparently Hallow overrides Corruption/Crimson
I have a Hallow and a Crimson bordering each other in my world and they don't spread into any blocks from the other biome. (although the Crimson has spread under the Hallow)
i dont think you can compare just 2 cases, you need like a set of data about like 5 iterations of each type minimum, because if it gets lucky early it accelerates and spreads much faster in future
In actual gameplay the spread will be a lot slower than it shows here. In a natural world not only are there caves, but there are also clay deposits, dirt(it can only spread to grass and not bare dirt), mushroom biomes, pyramids, and probably a few other things I forgot about that can act as natural barriers to slow things down.

They Grow At The Same Speed, It Depends On Where IT Spreads, if it spreads next to the block, thats not too grat, but if it spreads like 3 blocks away, then thats good as theres more room for spread in between, if it keeps getting lucky like that it will grow quicker
That's what I thought but yes. Towards the end they did spread at the same time. If it were truly RNG unless he got extreemly unlucky they would grow at different rates The only reason why corruption spread more is because RNG at the start

Recently defeated the wall on a new character and the hallowed spawned almost inside my base, the corruption will be stopped by it but the hallowed is harder to live in so I’m moving to the ocean and forests behind the dungeon.
i remember being played a save with my friend and we was so noob that didnt even noticed the corruption yet , after ton of hours ur play was literally moving house because npc never spawned , after a lot of hours we managed to make a not corruptable normal biome where we lived for long time , until we saw a tutorial and started the real journey xD

The herplings are damn annoying early hardmode if you don't have something such as the optic staff or leaf crystal.

Recently defeated the wall on a new character and the hallowed spawned almost inside my base, the corruption will be stopped by it but the hallowed is harder to live in so I’m moving to the ocean and forests behind the dungeon.
It kinda reminded me about grass vs mycelium spreading in minecraft :p

I have both corruption and crimson in my world.
I have a crimson biome on surface
and a floating island with corruption stuff from calamity
i remember being played a save with my friend and we was so noob that didnt even noticed the corruption yet , after ton of hours ur play was literally moving house because npc never spawned , after a lot of hours we managed to make a not corruptable normal biome where we lived for long time , until we saw a tutorial and started the real journey xD

After you kill plantera, it spreads 3 times slower, so it would spread way slower, making finding those small deposits of corruption really hard
