In this video, we take a look at the HP 2133 Mini-Note, a netbook released in 2008. With its 1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive, it was one of the most powerful netbooks of its time. A very lightweight Linux distro like antiX or Q4OS would probably do wonders for netbooks like that. I don't know how well Firefox would work, but something else like maybe Falkon or NetSurf would be better. You might have to sacrifice rendering some stuff, though.

This machine was not usable even when it was just released. I unfortunately own one. Impossible to run modern lightweight linux distros in with confortable appearance because of the non-standard screen resolution of 1024x600 that is almost impossible to achieve. Making a Wifi work is a pain in the neck for most distros. It will take to much of your time for sure... Best advise: just put Win7 and K-Meleon browser for a vary basic. Don't expect more.

C7 series CPUs are pretty inefficient because of they don’t support out-of-order, branch-prediction and some modern instructions.

Unfortunately, your dream of a powerful Linux netbook isn't going to happen. I own this computer and have tried multiple distros (Lubuntu, Mint, Debian), and they tend to be so slow to the point of unusability, even worse than more modern versions of Windows. You'd be stuck with old versions of Windows, and XP tends to run the best on mine.
(I have maxed out the RAM to 2GB, and have the expanded 6-cell battery which gives me 4 hours of battery life as opposed to only 2.)

It’s impossible to use. I have tried on C7-D 1GHz thin client with several versions of Mint and it extremely struggled to moving cursor.
And it may not load gpu driver. If you even wanna upgrade the kernel version to higher version, that would cause the system loss most of drivers.
So I reinstalled it to windows 7
