Imagine how stupid it is that MGK actually popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate hearing his name mentioned on this track, even though it literally already ended his career and canceled out Rap Devil instantly. That's why Em wasn't worried about having some killer beat or crazy production on Killshot, he simply 8 miled him and that was the end.

The bars were more real life accurate, and they slapped. The general song was put together better as a whole. (TL;DR version)
(If you wish to read my full analysis:)
Killshot was basically lameduck insults trying to respond to what MGK said on Rap Devil.
And the worst line from either of the tracks was "Tatted up mumble rapper." That's a double self-own moment.
Like a rap artist tatted up? So? If you listen to any of MGK's music, he's certainly NOT a mumble rapper.
Lastly I'm 36, I grew up in the Slim Shady era. I am a fan of both artists(Unlike most who choose sides, silly zoomers.) I think I'm objective when it comes to these two, but all of rap as well.
P.S. There's no real beef here. I listen (have a sub) to Pandora radio, I listen to Eminem''s station and MGK's station (out of many) Both of them have multiple tracks of each other on their radio station. Thusly, obvious display of mutual respect.
I think it was all planned behind the scenes. Because in a way they both benefitted. MGK got his springboard into the main by going after the GOAT. Eminem's career got reinvigorated, and even though he was already legend, he needed something like this to get him back in the headlines.
So no I don't think there's "real beef" I think MGK was a Eminem prodigee. I think Eminem took it easy on MGK in Killshot (truly I've been listening to Eminem since 99, the diss track was weak compared to what he's said about MGK in other tracks)
Eminem is the goat. Eminem is better. There is not question. MGK is pretty solid, and has the potential to break into the top 10 if he''d stick to rap, and if all the silly haters stopped hating just because he rightfully dissed Em.

    Summery of MGK Vs Eminem:
1: 2012 MGK comments inappropriate response on Picture of Hailey when she was still underage. Em's managers or rep or something told him to take it down, MGK didn't like that. Apparently Em himself didn't know about the tweet until quite a bit after.
2: 2015 MGK accuses Em of not allowing him of banning him from Shade-45. Em has repeatedly said he, especially at the time, did not even care enough about MGK to put the effort into doing something like banning him.
3: MAR 2018 MGK features on a Tech-9 song called "No Reason" and subliminally disses Em. Em has gone on record saying this is what made him finally respond to him and not any of the other previous stuff.
4: AUG 2018 Eminem fires back with "Not Alike" (this song).
5: AUG-SEP 2018 MGK celebrates Em mentioning him in a song in a video where he shoots Champaign. MGK releases a full music video for Rap Devil. (You'll see when you review it). In it he does claim that issues 1 & 2 were the reasons Em dissed him, (in interviews Em denied that). MGK does a bunch of bragging about how well Rep Devil did.
6: SEP Em Releases Kill Shot. That was end to the beef as a big news worthy thing. It does a lot better than Rap Devil did and in a shorter time. MGK says in a hilariously bad interview that he doesn't plan on responding to kill shot. You should totally react to at least the popular shortened version of the interview: ruclips.net/video/1-AwVyNlfAA/видео.html
7: Till present: A bunch of small slights I from MGK to Em. Em continues to dis MGK on several songs on "Music to be Murdered by", both A & B side, some prime examples would be in Gnat and the beginning of Zeus.

    • @n30ng75
      @n30ng75 2 года назад +2

Adding a bit to #7. While music is art and can be interpreted in different ways, it does seem like a lot of artists subliminally (or maybe even outright) diss mgk. Also, MGK in "Floor 13" says himself he's here to piss everyone off. In your chronological sample of events of the beef, there's a possible inconsistency in MGKs claims (if eminem's claim of being unaware of anything for that long was true), and MGKs just been chasing Em's phallus for 6 years, just to clout chase (major stan vibes, lol). The latter seems very believable if you take the case with slipknot, as it seems MGK will twist words and lie about anything to play the victim and get attention.
Looking at Eminem's catalog and the things he's done and said throughout his career, even if he had a reason to lie, I personally believe he doesn't. It's just not him.

Kid, I used to follow the battle scene back in the late 90's early 2000's. Eminem is a world class emcee. Em was one of the *best battle rapper's in the world* before Dre snagged him coming up as #2 in Scribble Jam (He lost to JUICE, one of the greatest battle rappers of all time) which was one of the most respected battle tournaments in on planet Earth. He's only gotten better as he's gotten older, wiser and more experienced--and Em's done nothing since then but write and spit bars for the last 20-25 years. Not many people around are even comparable.

You'd be shocked how these bars go over people's heads and still yell about "having no substance", yet someone as young as you understand and can interpret them. Honestly, it's pretty cool to see! Some sneak past me and I have to read the lyrics and listen a few times, Em loves throwing out double and triple entendres just to make our heads explode... there's been a few songs with bars that I don't think anyone truly knows the real meaning to besides Em, like he threw them in there just for himself. Dude is crazy, someone may not like his songs or music, thats okay, it's all subjective. What isn't subjective is the fact he's the most insane and best rapper when it comes to lyrical ability. He can even rhyme words together that don't rhyme if you say them at face value, he has to change his accent and pronunciate the words in such a way to get them to work together, it's honestly incredible.
"I sit back with this bag of this weed it gives me the shit needed to be the most meanest Emcee on this earth", It continues on from there, but that rhyme scheme and the cadence he had always blew my mind, I don't think a lot of people realize how technical that is.
If you want a severly underated Eminem album, try 'Relapse'. The bars he brings are second to none, some people don't like all the accents he does, or the fact its more horrorcore. Even Em considers it his least favorite album that he's released. I personally love it, he goes off on the tracks '3 AM', 'Stay wide awake', 'Underground', and 'Bagpipes from Baghdad'.... Those three are probably my favorites from that album, I just wish it got more love... He's got 3 diamond certified (10 times platinum) singles, 3 diamond albums, and he's got multiple singles nearing diamond status and so is one of his albums. In the next few years it wouldn't shock me if he's got a mix of 9 or more diamond singles/records. On his page listing all his certifications, he's got more platinum and multi time platinum certifications than I could count and only one of his albums out of all of them failed to reach number 1 on the billboard 100 list, every other one debuted at number one and majority if not all of them were number 1 for the entire year. Dude is on a different level and he can sell like that with no build up or marketing, he says, "Fuck it, I'm keeping that marketing money and dropping it randomly without saying a word". *debuts at number 1*

As a 46-year-old white woman, trap and drill music are the best when you are bopping at a club. I don't do much club bopping anymore, but that's just kind of how it is. With lyricists like Eminem, Royce, Joyner, Black Thought Kendrick Dax, etc. You're just going to have to appreciate the metaphors, the word play, the amazing ability to bob and weave in between the beat like Muhammad Ali doing the Rope-a-Dope

One of the reasons that Eminem is an amazing guy is that he sees the talent. He will allow a feature because he sees that goat potential. Basically, when a rapper is on a joint with Eminem, they will literally bring every ounce of soul, blood, sweat, and tears. He will push them to the next limit, thus; creating a new generation of lyricists

Like when No Life Shaq was reacting to Bone Thugz "Notorious Thugz" and said Krayzie was all the way on the next paragraph and he was still reading the top of the page. The person that was writing the lyric video you're reacting to was having the same problem with Em. LOL

"You ain't even CHARGED in CONNECTION with BATTERY boy you ain't PLUG"ED into nothin"
Also when he is talking about having your memory Jar'd its speaking to his classic beef with JA Rule
    of course then
"Nothing to do with muscular, but this BAR is OVER YOUR HEAD, so you better test ARMS if your GONNA PULL-UP"
Also just one of favorites ever, although obvi, but still amazing
"I'm talking to you, but you already know who you R Kelly"
