During the fight scene set to the song “I’m just a Girl,” by No Doubt, is playing, the lyric, “Oh I'm just a girl,” is referring to the fact that Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel, is in fact, a girl.

To be fair, fury did trust goose before the scratch. So he wasn’t lying about that.
It's still a let down, when he mentioned it in winter soldier the movie and Fury had a serous tone.
Then you have this movie to kind of mock the fans.
The big reveal turned out to be that Nic Fury is a drama queen .
Dude if that's how I lost an eye I would *totally* not comment on it, and let people draw their own conclusions.

I know Fury's eye bothered a lot of people and I understand I honestly was expecting a very emotional moment when Fury was betrayed by someone close to him but on the other hand I can see him also just putting up a tough guy facade and hiding the fact that his eye was scratched out by a cat (flerken). Not everything about him has to be hard ass dark and scary

Also a side note, the Protector is also a codename for a Kree warrior called Noh-Varr aka Marvel Boy. He was also Captain Marvel during Dark Reign and became Protector later on in the Ms. Marvel run.

A line that stood out to me in the film was towards the end, Captain Marvels nephew, I forgot her name, told a skrull “I really like your eyes, you shouldn’t change them.” So I think if we were to find out which character was replaced by a skrull in the Mcu we should see if their eyes change colors between different events.

You missed PANCHO’S BAR! This was my favorite easter egg. Panchos is where test pilots of Muroc (or Edwards) air base went to drink back in the 40s and 50s. I don’t know if it was still a thing in the 90s, but still a great addition to the film.

No, Pancho's Happy Bottom Riding Club burned down in the early 1960s as referenced by "The Right Stuff ". I believe it was mentioned in Gen. Chuck Yeager's autobiography.
One small reference you missed is in the title, Captain Marvel, which is likely a reference to an obscure comics character by the same name, Captain Marvel.

In Captain Marvel, after Nick Fury learns that Goose is a flerkin, and not a cat, he says, "I'm trusting you to not eat me." This ties in with the Winter Soldier line, "Last time I trusted someone I lost an eye."

When Carol flashes back to a flight training with Rambo she says “Higher, Further, Faster” and then Maria and her fist bump. That’s the name of one of Captain Marvels trade paperbacks.
The universal translator is in the first Guardians film.
The scene where Star Lord flips the Nova guards off it can be seen on his bio in the lower left of the shot.
This movie was so damn good, one of the best solo movies in the MCU.

Maybe it was just me but when Carrol is cycling through different colors on her costume it shows a red and white version which looked like to me a reference to the original Captain Marvel from the 40s aka the Shazam version
To me it looked like they had nods to the original ms marvel costume, the warbird costume, and mar-vells green and white costume
I'm sure it's just you, because Captain Marvel is a DC property and there's no way Marvel would give a shout-out to the real/original version.
I didn't see any white but the scene was dark
I had just seen a Shazam trailer, so it wasn't hard for me to actually spot a couple references to that Capt. Marvel, including someone with that lightning bolt on their chest.

ANOTHER EASTER EGG: While Carol is sifting through the photos while looking for information about Mar-Vell, a picture of Captain America's crash site in the Artic circle can be seen.
The guy working at the bar where carol bumps into fury is the same actor who played Blackout(Marcus Daniels) in agents of shield. This is probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing the movies reference the TV shows of the MCU.hes only credited as bartender so as far as I'm concered, thats the first mcu character introduced on TV to appear in a MCU movie.fkn awesome!!

In the first Iron Man movie, Pepper said to Coulson that the agency Coulson work for needs a shorter name, in which it was established at the end of the movie where Coulson said that they finally shorten the name into S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yet in Captain Marvel, Coulson and Nick Fury introduces themselves as agents from S.H.I.E.L.D.
I think maybe SHIELD agents like Coulson call SHIELD by it's full title whenever introducing themselves to someone new (like Pepper who had never heard of SHIELD before) since just straight up saying "I work for SHIELD" may sound silly and raise questions to some. As SHIELD became more mainstream in future movies, everyone now knows what SHIELD is now and there is no need to introduce SHIELD by it's entire name. Maybe Fury back then was comfortable just introducing the agency as SHIELD during Captain Marvel, but not some agents like Coulson. Just my theory lol

A faster than light engine is a really shitty Macguffin in a universe where warp drives and wormholes are everywhere.
Not the worst marvel movie though.
I was not particular impressed, but I was entertained. The talk surrounding the movie has been unbearable though.
Jong Fuu .. I was underwhelmed with Doctor Strange, nevertheless I was entertained and liked his character in Infinity War. Now that I know, hopefully this is a “well known” factoid at this point, END GAME was either completed or MOSTLY done prior to CM soooo... hopefully some good stuff is in End Game with her character. Mostly optimistic and hopeful, as they generally entertain and have been eager to see each new chapter in the ongoing story. So I really try and recognize it as a ride to be enjoyed and not dissecting a corpse and saying, oh my what did this disgusting bastard eat! Although, I do enjoy watching others dissect ....I mean, Mr Sun Movies does it quite well, yeah shameless pandering is not beneath me.
The least to argue is that this particular FTL is for crossing *galaxies*, not *A* galaxy. The warp drives, jump gates and wormholes can only get them as far as they could.
Considering the lightspeed core was the tesseract the travel speed woulda been a near instant teleport across the universe, making the skrull refugees practically untouchable

There is one scene where we see the back of Yon'Rogg's suit, and the panel lines form a pretty obvious M.
That, together with the powers his suit has are a definite nod to his time in the comics where was none as "The Magnetron".

Hey since you're the absolute best all-around movie reviewer of all those that I watch, and since I don't think I'll have time to do a video of myself and give this lady her do, let me point you toward an Easter egg that no one is noticing, in hopes that you can include it in your next video.
the bar and she goes to to meet fury for the second time is called panchos. this is a reference to the bar in the movie The Right stuff, Pancho's happy bottom Riding Club. But the significance is deeper. Pancho Barnes was an early female aviator. A barnstormer if memory serves? I think she even ended up training our pilots during world war II, even though she wasn't allowed the fly and fight in the war herself. Quick Google search will get you all the details that my feeling memory is forgetting.
