the point of that was to show how women are berated for being too emotional regardless of whether they show emotion or not, but it didn't come across very clearly in the movie
@@aryak9564 that does have merit in society, sadly. I would say that her attempts to seem emotionless and condescending come across as the misplaced effort of an internally insecure individual who lets their feelings control their decision-making process whilst wearing a mask of an emotionless personality... Oh man, forgot if I was talking about Donald or Carol there, bent my mind out of alignment
The Kree value absoloute lack of emotion, perhaps Carol has been trained for something similar but is still plenty human, hey maybe that's an excuse as to why the space people are so boring!
@Ish Moore kind of sad that you think feminist agenda is a bad thing, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to change your mind in a youtube comment section lol
The one where theyre fighting for the tesseract while just a girl by no doubt plays was pretty good, the movie wouldve been a1 if it was just a neon orgy of space action, laser beams, and 90s alt rock imo
Carol in the comics faces alcoholism to a point where even Tony says she’s got a problem so they could’ve made something interesting with that The MCU has tackled serious subjects like PTSD before and having the first female superhero stand-alone film in the MCU focus on such a serious subject would have been cool to see and Carol in the movie would actually have an interesting character flaw to humanize her
@Bo Kuen Tao Your whole “act” I don’t even know what to call it definitely implies you’re at most 11. Wahmen? Really? Like bruh who says that? Oh wait the 11 years who watch Pewds my bad
YES! Superman is NOT perfect, he’s just trying his best. Carol is too perfect and gets everything right and given to her on a silver platter because she’s a WoMaN.
SuperMan was raised well and actually has a personality. Even though he was born Kryptonian he still feels human and mainly in the comics SuperMan feels like Clark Kent’s secret identity not the other way around.
@@gnarly.bulblax I think they agree with you, they were just pointing out how Marcus describes the movie Superman, and that he's not the incredible character you're describing in the movie representation.
@@ethanpinkerton141 space was super boring to me. Felt like Halo Combat Evolved (which is a good game) in the sense that it felt isolated and dreary. That single shot of a city more highly advanced than wakanda and we don't see an actual population living in it. We see like 12 whole people in space which is the equivalent of the 30 mile trip you would have to take to encounter another group of covenant mobs in Halo.
I personally do not like this movie, but you have to admit that the Stan Lee cameo is super adorable. Plank is looking for the skrull in the train, and she's proof-checking everyone. Then she passes by Stan and Stan looks at her for a moment, and she smiles. Seriously this is one of my favorite moments in the MCU.
I literally only went to the movie to see Stan Lee. The moment after he made his cameo, I left the theater. As far as I was concerned, the movie was over after that.
My main problem with the character is that there was a lot of saying she's this way but didn't show it, for example the friend says "you are the strongest person I have ever met" but genuinely don't show it
elon musket Physical power doesn’t make you strong, if you are a strong person you would have the physical, mental, and emotional high ground and she is missing two out of the three.
You nailed it at the beginning, Captain Marvel is not a very dynamic or deep character in the comics. They took from different versions of her done by different authors. She hasn't had a lot of continuity personality wise.
yeah, it's a result of the fact that the captain marvel character has never been given much to work with in the comics and has a conflicting origin over multiple iterations because from what I know, in the past, marvel only reboots and reuses the character concept with the minimum required effort so that they can keep the rights to the name and have a legal case in their up till a few years ago continuing conflict over the captain marvel name
this is the equivalent to Thor: The Dark World- a serious protagonist that doesn’t ~resonate~ with audiences. we just gotta get Taika Waititi to direct the next movie, lol
Christyandi K you wouldn’t have known it from the first two Thor movies that were written like Shakespearean tragedies though, there’s only so much an actor can do when given shitty dialog to read
One other issue is that she doesn't use her powers creatively at all. Unlike iron man or doctor strange or spider man, here I don't want to see more of her powers because she brings no variation to them, it's just blast, blast punch, punch This becomes so painful in the climactic fight scene that her "glowy" moment in the end when she puts on her mask becones completely ineffective and I just wanted it to end .
Also she seems too powerful for my liking, after she took that thing off her neck it's just destroy all the things without breaking a sweat and don't even get a scratch. There was no outsmarting the opponent like in Thor 3, no help from outside like in Iron Man or anything of the sorts
@@deeevinityy That's always been her problem. She's stupid powerful but just sort of a boring asshole. She avoids being a Mary Sue in the comics at least because of alcoholism that made Stark go "Whoa", and anger management issues that made the hulk look chill. But she never really grows or develops in any meaningful way.
Notre Aira You obviously don't know shit about Batman if you think he's a Gary Sue. He's the ultimate anti-hero and he's the other side of the Joker. They exist for one another. Captain Marvel is a Mary Sue feminist icon that has strayed into pop culture and (surprise) people are calling it out for what it is: a bullshit boring character with almost no flaws and ultra powerful fighting ability.
@@BleedForTheWorld batman an anti-hero? and batman is a gary sue, he had all kind of training, knows everything and carrys everything in his utility bell, shark repelent he has it, bomb defuser that too, kryptonie always in case for some reason they gotta make a comic where superman rules the world
Okay I feel like it’s been long enough so I can say this. I don’t like the twist with Nick Fury’s eye. It’s kinda just made into a throwaway joke and it’s just really underwhelming. I honestly never even really wanted to see how he lost his eye. I always liked the mystery behind it.
Should’ve either stayed a mystery, or been an emotional moment where Carol fails (maybe because of her emotions?) and that happens. Hate how it is as well.
She needed to fail at least once in this movie resulting in her losing Fury’s trust and him losing his eye. This would make the moment when she gets back up make sense as she’d actually feel human. Plus it’s establish a more complex relationship between her and Fury and end both of there arcs in ways that actually make sense.
Exactly what they should have done to have made it appealing to watch. Hated how *Fury* lost his eye to what we could essentially call a cat was ridiculous and making *Captain Marvel* OP as hell & perfect in every way was an awful creative decision.
I like this idea, like if Fury and Carol left on sorta weird-ish terms and gives more weight to him paging her. In the same way that Tony has the phone to call Steve but all that Civil War baggage is in the way.
I hate people who dont like Doctor Strange, Ant Man, Iron Man 3 and even Captain America: The first avenger. In my opinion those are the most underrated Marvel movies period. They are so good but they are different from the other movies and people just hate them. Doc Strange is a mind bending, magical journey unlike most other Marvel films. Ant Man is a hilarious comedy. Iron Man 3 is a serious drama about Tony Starks PTSD and terrorism and Captain America is a war film mixed with magical artefacts. These movies are more unique than most Marvel movies and I like them all because of that. Guardians of the galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok are also great but everyone loves those movies so they dont count as underrated. These movies I listed deserve more attention and credit.
The top 10 most underrated MCU movies in my opinion are. 1. Ant-Man. 2. Doctor Strange. 3. Iron Man 3. 4. Captain America: Thr first avenger. 5. Thor. 6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. 7. Spider-Man Far from home. 8. Avengers: Age of Ultron. 9. Ant-Man and the Wasp. 10. Captain Marvel.
Ngl. My ex and I watched this tgt after we broke up just as friends, and i have never cringed so hard at her opinion. We've been watching MCU films since the first year and the fact she said Capt Marvel was amazing because she is like the hero girls can look up to irks me. Like i get it yakno feminism and stuff cuz hey im a brie larson fan and i was so stoke when shes casted as Capt Marvel. But a bad movie= a bad movie, its not like horrible per say but she didn't earn a lot of her scenes especially her going full binary. Thor going god mode was epic because we see the man went from 0 to 100 down to 0 and 100 again. It was well earned, but glad that I got dumped cuz i dun think i can consciously agree with her "Women are strong too! Women should be leaders of a group!" Out of purely gender correction. Things need to be earned no matter the gender. And brie/ the writers didn't earn shit for this movie. Made her appearance in endgame so stale
Justin Choo TC facts bro I felt the representation was so forced BLACK PANTHER DID A BETTER JOB AT REPRESENTING WOMAN. The whole movie was just so forgettable and I have a semi-good memory which says a lot. What makes a good movie isn’t about representation ,sure if you represent a group of people then make sure it’s accurate, but all of the human elements to make it seem believable even if its a superhuman movie. There is so much more to a good movie its very complex but you just know that this wasn’t a good movie. I don’t want a boring character like her I want a Black Widow because she is a natural badass,I want a Shuri because she is a smartass, I want a Wasp because she is more fun and entertaining than Captain Marvel and thats on MY opinion. Their is just so much more amazing movies that give amazing representation to woman and to that my friend Captain Marvel has failed to do so.
@@roxanne_ hahaha. And that's the sad part. You actually care more for the secondary characters. To think that this is her standalone movie and they still managed to fail in making her an interesting character. And yes, it is great to see a female representation in superhero movies but as what you've said, they need to execute it well. It'll be useless if it feels like they need to produce a movie for the sake of pandering it to the mass.
I think Cap was always a good character in the MCU. The first Avenger wasn't the best marvel movie obviously but it did a good job of Explaining who Steve Rogers was. Plus he was great in Avengers.
The writing in this movie was so sloppy. I didnt even know Jude Laws character name, howd the teseract get in space and why did Fury act like he just found it for the forst time at the end of Thor. Also a spaceship shooting gallery in not an acceptable or fulfilling climax
There's like 20 movies made over a decade, helmed by a studio that is unloading billions of dollars yet still pushing a relatively tight production schedule. They couldn't have predicted that this series would be such a runaway success, so naturally they're retconning the timeline a bit. The question is, how are the investors going to let this series die in dignity like we got with Logan, are they going to keep making Avengers movies forever?
It was kinda the point that we didn't know who Jude Law was playing for most of the film, Yon-Rogg is one of Captain Marvel's main villains and pulling the same twist of the comic book villains actually being the good guys that many times would have been bad, it's likely that Howard Stark and Mar-Vell may have known each other, especially as Tony Stark referenced Project Pegasus in Iron Man 2 (might have been in a deleted scene, but I can't remember for certain), Fury was a lower level agent in this film, retcons are likely when the series has been going for this long though I can't remember the scene you're referring to, so I can't really comment there, that last bit is more down to personal preference.
Wilo Polis captain marvel sucks ass there is no climax because captain marvel literally has no negatives, she's boring to watch, doctor strange at least has a personality as a character, but the movie is pretty good at best while captain marvel is really just awful.
Antman is fantastic. The side characters make those movies, and they’re an absolute breath of fresh air. They break from form, there are no egregious mistakes, and they’re funny from start to finish.
I actually think this movie is pretty damn close to Thor 1. A pretty bland main character with a supporting character that steals the show (Loki/Fury). The rest of the movie is pretty average. I don't think the pacing held up but some of the scene to scene enjoyment carried the film. I gave it a 6/10
@@TheExecutioner21 Agreed. People just don't seem to get Thor. Captain Marvel was closer to 4,5/10. Easily one of the worst in the MCU. Adding the politics into the mix... woah boy.
Thank you! As a woman and a mom of a daughter I wanted to love Carol Danvers like I love Diana Prince. And because I don’t I have been stifling my feelings because I feel somehow disloyal to the character. This gives me hope that Carol once introduced to the other Avengers will grow into someone I adore as much as I do Thor. That and don’t ever let these directors near another Marvel movie. Don’t hire someone based on their sex for goodness sake. Hire the best person for the job and it’s clear they were not up to the task.
(from a feminist) What really bothered me about this was that the "strong female" dial was turned up so much that she's too perfect, and therefore not relatable anymore, and therefore not empowering. Not only is she so incredibly powerful physically, she doesn't have any inner conflict. Even when she finds out that her whole remembered life is a lie, it barely phases her and she feels absolutely no remorse about fighting her former team. When she totally pounded Jude Law at the end, I really wished she would at least feel a little regret about it. That's what humans do. They have inner conflict even when it's not logical. She's just too perfect, so I can't relate to her, so she's ironically not an inspiring female character even though that was the whole point.
THANK YOU!!!! That's exactly what I've been saying to everyone else. I know that they can like the movie but they always pull out the "She had character development and she was empowering" card. There was no development or empowerment to me (the part where she got back up was the most empowering thing about the movie).
@@Swayz555 i found it so weird that they wrote carol this way when they literally have multiple other female characters that are written like normal people. natasha and wanda are both strong but they have limits and flaws...a lot of flaws.
Plus you can tell she’s got a huge chip on her shoulder. Especially with the other actors. I love black widow, the dora molajai(spelled wrong I know but bad ass all the same) the wasp is cool too. The difference is the humongous chip on her shoulder.
I always am skeptical when seeing OP characters. Unless they’re given a BIG issue to contest with, both mentally AND physically, they fail. Wonder Woman has mental fights, such as trying to prove to her family and herself that men aren’t all inherently evil, despite the atrocities of war being front and center. Also, she has character traits aside from being overly confident and abrasive. She has physical threats as well. Yes she does beat up enemy soldiers easily, (in an incredibly badass way) but she knows she isn’t going to easily wipe the floor with Aries and is preparing to fight him throughout the movie. Wonder Woman faces challenges throughout the movie in the form of her internal struggles, and in her final bout against Aries. What makes her badass is that she fights through these challenges, and conquers them. --- With Captain Marvel, she easily wipes the floor with every obstacle in her path. Yes, she does struggle with her past memories occasionally, but she overcomes it fairly quickly upon realizing the whole truth and realizing that she is ‘awesome.’ In terms of physical threats, she NEVER is threatened. Yes, she is captured occasionally and the supreme intelligence poses a challenge for 3 minutes. Yet, aside from those moments she easily destroys everything in her way, including the latter threats. She never has to challenge herself to overcome her obstacles. It’s as simple for her as shooting something with a laser and thinking, “Yeah I’m AWWWESOME!!!” --- Wonder Woman had to challenger her entire view on the world itself in her journey, and had to fight a physical manifestation of that in the form of the war god Aries. Captain Marvel had to shoot some lasers and say to herself, “I’m such a b🅰️d🅰️$$ 😎”
Totally agree! How the heck can people enjoy perfect characters who arent even challenged in the ending. Like why tf did Ronan even show up in the movie, just to be running tf home when he sees how op cap marvel is. Bisarre to even think that is a good ending
I guess a good way to see if a “strong” female character is good is to switch their gender to male. If their character is still good, congratulations that’s a good strong character. Ripley from Alien Isolation was actually supposed to be a guy, but they changed him to a girl due to a female actor coming up. If you change Captain Marvel to a male her character is absolute crap. (Well it’s already crap but her being male makes it much easier to see as crap. Think a Gary Stu Superman...)
they kept talking about emotions throughout the entire movie but all i saw was carol danvers squinting her eyes and giving a small smirk while saying something ‘witty’ sometimes
I had an issue with this myself, she shows hardly any emotion. After some discussion however, I think that when Jude Law tells Carol she needs to control her emotion, he is really saying, 'control your humanity.' But since he doesn't want her to know she's human, he says control your emotions. So really, she has regular human emotions but has been suppressing them as they keep telling her to. Then later, we see her embrace her humanity (emotion) to get her full strength. I don't know, it's sloppy but the only thing I could think of to explain it.
Spoiler The twist (Skrulls being not the villains) could honestly lead to a better Secret Invasion if Talos was just a really good liar since we'd no longer expect it.
Or maybe after Talos dies a radical zealot Skrull takes over as their leader and wages war against the Kree, and somehow humanity gets involved and then Secret Invasion happens.
Kono Dio Da! How would that make people hate this movie? He could have simply tricked carol into helping him so he could get his family back, and then go back to trying to kill the kree with hopefully her out of the picture. Because she’s not a kree soldier anymore it removes a threat
Josh Margolis actually they do hint towards his daughter possibly becoming the evil skrull we’re used to. When Talos tells his wife to cover the daughters eyes while he kills the two guards, the wife covers her own eyes and the daughter watches him do it and her reaction is a smile.
Here i thought the what are those line from Black Panther was dumb which is still is...it’s fucking dumb but Goose scratching out Nicks eye is really fucking dumb
They really should've given her a Steve Rogers sort of tilt, that she really wants to help people. She's not trying to get strong to be strong, she just wants the tools necessary to save innocents. You can make her fiery and driven while still being badass (ala Peggy Carter) and you could even throw in some of Carol's alcoholism from the comics to spice it up. Maybe she's constantly getting visions and flashbacks from a life she never knew and booze is the best way to drown them out. There's just so many directions they could've taken her, but since they knew they were gonna be combatting the endless stream of "reeeeeee SJW Mary Sue!!!!" criticisms they decided to play it as safe as possible, which wound up backfiring. If she'd been written better, her character would've outweighed those comments and they would've died out, but instead there's little to defend so those people are continuing to run with it.
Captain marvel was always boring in the comics. The best thing that happened to her was getting her powers ripped and mindwiped by ROGUE. Thats the Captain Marvel movie I want to see.

@@channelzero1546I wasn't saying that her comic was good and I agree with you that on her own she has always sucked, I'm just saying that she was better than Brie Larsen's version. Brie Larsen doesn't look like a powerful superhero. She's hot, but she's very skinny. I feel like if she works out the way Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and many other marvel or characters had to fit their role, her future at marvel looks OK. Not great but OK.
I dunno, I think Chris Claremont always wrote her well, in my opinion. The Brood Saga in X-Men is a fun space saga where Wolverine and Carol Danvers are a murder-buddy duo in space. It's pretty good Claremont, but then again, Claremont's X-Men is like, 95% of her character development.
@Glenna Smith explain how every hero is too perfect. For example how is Batman perfect he is one of the most emotionally flawed character in comic book history.
@Glenna Smith every character in MCU had been kicked by some villain. That goes to show that they are not Gods, and makes them more compelling. (Sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker
I don’t get why people keep saying she’s too perfect. She’s cocky and arrogant. Also, it’s hinted that she struggles with vulnerability. Unfortunately, none of these flaws are addressed.
You have my sympathies for the need of adding the "Politics Free"-Review in your thumbnail, bc that is actually a good & nuanced review for the movie, and I really hope that people won't eat each others heads in your comment section now.
Everyone is reviewing this movie out of pure salt. Larson pissed off so many people that she's giving 4chan trolls a run for their money. Video poster saw this chaos and took his golden opportunity to bring in the actual critics not grown men dissecting everything from movies to their own dog for political agendas
@Backstage Bum Are they, are they really? Most reviewers on youtube are pretty bad. Or they have a fanbase that is just to shitty to even want to leave a comment. Like just looking through the comment sections on other captain marvel reviews is just nauseating.
Captain Marvel has the same problem Ray does: No character Development, and character flaws. Both have superpowers they just happened to get Both go through no character development, and seem to be people whose only way to show emotion is to scream Both are driven by their pasts with frequent flashbacks. Disney just can't seem to get the strong female character right, and it's frustrating
Disney has had strong female characters. The problem is that it’s easier to write and invincible character and develop them than it is for it to play out. Seriously if one moment you are normal and the next you were invincible you basically have no reason to change at that point because you’re already as great as you’re going to be while the other marvel characters have to be developed because their abilities required some level of skill. She’s just playing a tough person but not a person that actually has to be tough.
Eh rey isnt comparable to cpt marvel, A lot of reys "flaws" are sort of overblown so I don't know exactly what you're talking about in terms of criticism so I can't accurately respond. But I feel like Rey's character was built wayyyy better than cpt marvel
I would say captain Marvel has potential, she's introduced at the wrong time and she has started out last year. I think marvel can do something in the future but now she's not really interesting
I think they could literally just give her some form of issues which would cause her to question her choices at the very least. Show us that she's scared out of her mind, show her having a breakdown and couldn't believe that things are not really going in the particular way and it causes her powers to go completely haywire throughout the movie. Causing Carol to actually do more cool shit to figure her way out, and it makes more sense if she does it that way because she finds out who she is and now who she is now at the same time; showing more of self-confidence rather than. "I HAVE POWER AND NOW I KNOW HOW TO USE IT EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME NOT TO USE IT LIKE THAT BUT I AM A WOMAN SO I HAVE MORE INDEPENDENCE ON WHAT I HAVE TO DO!!" Like ugh; come on guys, let's be a bit more creative. I know fucking Captain Marvel can do cool ass shit. In fact; she's shown us tremendous amount but the problem is what even Kamala from Ms. Marvel even states on why she quit the avengers; people basically posturing of being a hero instead of showing that they are a hero.
The impression I got from Carol was that she's aloof at first and more playful as she opens up. She doesn't joke with anyone she doesn't connect with like Gemma Chan's character, but with Fury, she does. (SPOILERS) You really see it when she finds out the truth. She starts warming up to the people from earth and emotionally distancing herself from her Cree mentor.
I mean ... she is suposed to be aloof and void of emotions. They literally indoctrinate that into her, it's one of the very first things we hear. And the longer she is apart from the Kree, the more she distances herself from that part of her life, the more she opens up.
Prestidigitoreum I totally agree. Before she realizes that she is a human, not a Kree, she feels like she is superior to all humans. But, when she gets to know Fury more, and discovers the truth about herself, she opens way up.
unknownmonkey26 literally me and my buddies said this felt like the first iron man. And we came to the conclusion that it probably has to do with shift for the MCU and they tested it out with Captain Marvel because she will be like the iron man of the new MCU.
This is exactly what I have been afraid of after Infinity War. Ive been saying for a while that after the Infinity War series is wrapped up that Marvel really needs to take at least a 3 year break. Infinity War was just to hype of a movie that it makes it hard to do these smaller origin story films that would have felt great before the first Avengers but now just seem kind of slow. I still enjoyed the movie but all I could think of was how it was setting things up for Endgame, so it felt like an appetizer instead of a full course meal. So if Marvel is smart then after Endgame and any other movies they have already started they will take a short break. Because I do not want people to get burnt out with unrealistic expectations and then everyone is sick of super hero films and it all crashes, making us have to wait a decade or more before people are ready for them again. Personally I'm no where near burnt out yet and I can understand that not every movie is going to be Infinity War levels of awesome but I think a lot of people do expect that.

I hated Thor before, because he was just a strong character who had barely any personality. His awesome when he fights but when not I don't wanna see him anymore. Basically his a character that's just there to smash stuff and do cool shit, even Hulk had more personality than him before and Hulk barely says a word. I love Thor now because he had a complete 180 for his character. I was no longer just watching him because of what he can do with his hammer, but because his turning to a great character overall. A real cinematic growth that is satisfying to watch. I hope Captain Marvel becomes the new Thor. With that I mean turning or growing a character that was designed to be very powerful that resulted her being very bland and boring, turned to an interesting character people would want to watch and cheer for. I think she has a lot of room to grow, and I have faith in Marvel that they would do so.
You do know you can make a really powerful and interesting character right? It’s easier said than done but trust me is fucking possible, dr Manhattan is all powerful and more interesting than Superman why? Because he views the world in a similar way as we do “I’m tired of humans” is the text book quote that binds us with an all powerful god
Nah that's cuz of Hemsworth. He's a fun guy n it came out in the movie. Brie Larson is a walking political statement, n that came out here already so....
@@svx4401 No that's not because of Hemsworth. Yes he's a good actor but if the writing sucks, an actor is not going to save it that much. Thor suffered from it because he was simply written boring in the first two movies.
@@Cyther0 Everyone liked the MCU Thanos not because his right (I hope not because his plan is to wiped out half of the universe which he did.) but because he had an interesting point and seems like a genuine character and not just someone put in the story just to advance the plot. He had real motivation unlike the typical villains he have that is there to only destroy world's and not because his values or that he sees the world similar to us. If you like the character simply because their view is like yours then I think that character is a poor character. They need to be relatable in some way but different, and not differennt just because they have powers or an alien but different because they have a different stance on our everyday beliefs or views. At least that's for me. Superman is just plain boring thought, not because his OP because he lacks personality. Captain Marvel in the film definitely tops Superman DCEU in terms of personality and emotion. Simply the Skrull moment where when the Skrull warcried at her face she mocked him first by doing her own warcry before knocking him down. I love that. Well she was being taught to fight at the start with no emotion, so I imagine her character kinda had to reflect that. I think she was likeable enough given the circumstances

That decision alone would’ve solved most of the problems with the film and character. Endgame should’ve been her first appearance.
@@levischorpioen yeah, that seems to be the best way to intro characters into the MCU. Spidey and BP benefited from that pretty well. If she's going to be the "leader" of the MCU after Endgame, I really hope they give her some more personality, and better yet, flaws to grow out of..
You, my friend, are a moron. So is this Cosmonaut guy, he doesn’t know what he’s talkin about. This film is unfocused, monotone, and very average at best. Dr. Strange is miles ahead.
I think you hit it on the money, but I'd like to add one thing: I think a Mary Sue in a well written story is not the worst thing in the world. We've seen male heroes pull off the same. Very few people I know are THAT attached to Superman; we like seeing him play off his villains and the society. And if you're into it, the metaphor might be another great reason to like the story. I think the same can be said for Captain Marvel. I enjoy seeing other characters play off of her, and there is some relatability and power in the message of the movie if you have experienced anything similar. Captain Marvel will never be my favorite Marvel hero. Not when the likes of Thor(post Ragnarok) and the Guardians cast exist(which is why I'm hyped as heck for the next installment of either). But she isn't lost. She also might get a tactful rework someday. Just look at what happened to Steve Rogers. I'll hold out hope for that, but in the meantime, the film is fine.
6:30 WHAT!?!?!?!?! Scott Langs friends, or as you put it "side characters", are one of THE BEST elements to the Ant Man movies! Michael Pena KILLLLLLLS IT as Luis. The other friends play off Scott very well too, including T.I as Dave, especially in the first Ant Man movie. Whos with me on this???
@G B I commented exactly that on another post. I was willing to give these guys the benefit of the doubt after saying what they said about scott's "side characters" then just completely gave up on them after saying its better than Aquaman. They also rated Captain Marvel ABOVE Alita Battle Angel... WTF?
I gotta say, Carol got shortchanged by the wasted potential of the plot. I mean, especially with the twist, and the amnesia, you could've had a compelling moral dilemma! I don't mind the OP-ness, like a lot of people do, but they should've dove into her vulnerabilities more. There's potential there for like a Winter Soldier-y type personal struggle, but instead the writers are like "meh, she finds out she's been lied to by the man she trusts and brainwashed into persecuting innocent people, alright let's get to the jOKES"
Persøn Human seriously the Skrulls were the perfect villain for her because it’s the perfect way to nerf someone with a lot of power, make their enemies able to hide. Don’t get why they went with the twist that actually they’re all refugees fleeing space fascists. Also made it confusing because I thought for ages after they watched that tape that the Skrulls were still gonna be bad and had faked the whole thing
Ethan Longenbaugh see I saw GOTG when it came out in cinemas but it’s been like 5 years so I completely forgot they were bad guys. That’s a bit mental so if you’ve seen GOTG (and remember the specifics) you get Captain Marvels twist spoiled for you
@@harveyholmes9533 Beucase all captain marvel wants to do is beat people (especially all them yucky sexist men) up and show off her unearned powers. It would be too fair for her.
as much as i liked ragnarok, this is why I wish Taika had made Captain Marvel instead, he has a really good instinct for having drama and comedy work together which I think is what they were kinda going for with this movie?
3:08 "I don't think anybody agreed on what her personality was supposed to be so shes just weird and inconsistent" Soooo... Captain Marvel from the comics?
i feel like a lot of writers have trouble writing solo female lead characters, like rey in tfa and tros has inconsistent and honestly kinda lazy characterization, black widow is written as sex appeal so her characterization is fairly consistent,, but carol danvers is not sex appeal, they wrote her as a kinda flawless person which honestly isnt realistic, i appreciated seeing her character in theater because she was a strong female character, but from a writing perspective and a viewing perspective,, she is not relatable, shes just unrealistic as a person.
@@abbeyBominable123 there isn't one. He's mentioned how bad the movie is in other videos but i don't think he's ever made a review. I'd really like to see him make one.
The consensus among those that could lose privileged access if they're too harsh in the opinions of the publishers who pay the bills for everyone in the industry... yeah, that's typically how they've responded to the movie.
He literally didn't say that. He said that it's not just Nick Fury. It's that she works well when she's with someone who compliments her style which Samuel L Jackson is
He didn’t exactly say that but that couldn’t be any closer to the truth. Brie just really doesn’t give off any vibes of a defined personality so they just rely on Fury for the “good” dialogue. The writing in general is just a huge meh but he makes the best of it.
No man, lol she can't even speak. She has natural charisma, maybe a little mind trick because she is a trained model, so those purposeful slow motion shots of her doing poses can make her look more "majestic" than she really is (by the way, she is horrendous without makeup). In that scene were superman ressurect, her "acting" is so abnormally bad, she looks and sounds like a porn star. Larson on the other hand, she can't disguise her boring facial features and do poses like Gadot, neither have a nice smile or anything out of ordinary. Just bland and without any kind of energy. Not ugly or anything, more like soulless, and she looks far older than her real age. I was surprised to know she was not even 30, just a couple of years older than me and she already look like my aunt, lol a really weird choice, she can't act, neither she looks good... @@crunchy1547 I also liked her. She was the first female kicking ass in the MCU if I remember correctly, and she felt as kind of a link between different movies and characters.
I will admit I'm not that impressed with Brie Larson but I do agree with the whole "Working off of others" thing you talked about, in fact I bet that when we see Captain Marvel in Endgame she's gonna be much better than she was here.
@Thomas Sowell My problem with her character in the movie was really the material. The script was so weird. She did have some off screen expressions in the first half, but that problem was gone in the second half.
I dont like that the main character doesnt progress at all. At the beginning it is seen that she cant control her emotions. At the end she proves she hasnt grown a single bit. And it is absolutely inarguable that letting your emotions get the best of you is good, yet this movie seems to argue that it "makes us human" (I thought it was mistakes lol). At the end the are literally zero stakes because she kicks the shit out of everyone combined, effortlessly. Really the rest of the cast carried this movie, and not by much.
I have a feeling Captain Marvel will get black panther syndrome, as in, their stand alone version will fall flat, but their version in the multiverse will be their best version.
The problem isn't her personality, it's a lack of clear motivations. What makes Captain Marvel tick? Nobody knows-- not even her since she can't remember.
@@Kip_Novak it like she is just 'born' with it because uncontrollable emotion just make a female character significantly stronger especially during her period. I am pretty sure she was on her period whenever she turn binary.
Easy there Emperor Aurelius. Nietzsche's here to set you straight. Human beings are emotional irrational creatures. We have the capacity for unemotional rational thought but thats all it is. Capacity. I feel we're better off exploring our emotions than repressing them. Repressing them makes them mutate into worse forms anyway.
"I liked 80% of the movie, but I really disliked 20% of it" so he hated the 20% enough to knock down the score. Like if you get a 70% on something worth 80% of your final mark, and get 10% on the other 20% of your final mark, you aren't going to have that perfect 70% st the end.
The thing that bugs me is that she goes super saiyan by simply removing that thing in her neck. Also after getting immense power she can immediately control it
Yeah, getting her powers in the first place made no sense. Despite the blast of the exploding engine being strong enough to send out energy waves in all directions that blow back trees, causes fires, craters the surrounding sand and sends large waves across the lake, it only tosses the two meat bags a bit. Jude Law (can't remember his movie name, that's how insignificant his character was to me) was only a little bit further from the engine than Carol, and yet she got to soak up all the "transformation energy" while he got none of it. Bucky lost an arm to a fall, Rhodes became paralyzed from the waist down by a fall, Dr. Strange's hands get crippled in a car crash, Crossbones is disfigured after being crushed and brought back by an operation, but an explosion that was more powerful than the bomb that killed multiple Wakandan humanitarian workers (and obviously Crossbones) in Lagos didn't kill a close range weakened, recently crash landed Human and a Kree. We're even told that she required a blood transfusion to survive, but why? The worst damage she seemed to take was a bloody nose. Internal bleeding? Don't know, it's not explained. There's a lot of lazy, deus ex machina stuff here.
It would have been cool to see a montage of her learning to control that immense power, think Iron Man learning to fly, that would've made her seem more powerful once the moment came.
If the movie had a training montage people would call it boring and derivative. Arent you tired of a training montage in every movie? Being super saiyan was also natural to everyone in DBZ so why wouldnt it be for Captain Marvel?
To me, it’s always felt like two movies awkwardly rammed together, and for some reason there’s parts where you get the feeling that Brie Larson thinks she’s too good for this.
This movie didn’t have anything to do with politics until Brie Larson made it so. I can ignore that while I watch it, but that fact still lingers that Brie Larsons actions during the press tour were completely unnecessary
FunkMaster Funk my point exactly. I had no idea this movie was controversial until a few days ago. There was absolutely no need to politicize this movie. Even if it is a feminist piece, going out of your way to alienate the majority of your audience is beyond retarded.
@@JeyBerg I will say though, if you go into a movie disliking it already because of reasons that don't have to do with the movie, or wanting to dislike it, you're in the wrong. An actor's opinion shouldn't influence how you feel about a film.
After what they did with thor , Russo brothers have the credit. Maybe they have some struggle with her power set , a little bit nerfing then it's fine.
I doubt it. Waititi is the one who changed Thor. The Russos - respect to them - merely polished him a bit more. I doubt they did much to Captain Marvel. And Strange was good in his film. And his character mostly consistent in Infinity War compared to his solo film.
Ghost I liked him but the stuff he does in Infinity War is just a lot more cool and epic. He’s a more experienced sorcerer in Infinity War. As Carol will be more experienced with her Binary powers by Endgame.
I thought the movie would be more political but it wasn’t Brie did bring it up though but what I hated was that there was nothing to overcome really I just don’t think she’s a good addition to the mcu
Melon Gamer that doesn’t count, then by your logic captain America the winter soldier is an avengers movie since it has black widow and captain America
My quick review: It was ok. It was nothing special at all, but it definitely wasn’t the worst thing in the MCU. I don’t even think Brie is bad as captain marvel, I feel more like it was the direction and writing that made her character unlikable. Sam Jackson is still really fun in this movie, and he raises Brie’s performance. The supporting cast is phenomenal in my opinion. Personally I think Brie looks super badass as captain Marvel in the full suit. The weird thing is Captain Marvel is probably the worst part of the movie. Overall: 6/10- Worth a watch. Edit: just watched the video, and we actually agreed in a lot of areas. I definitely didn’t expect you to rate it as high as you did.
you gave Iron man a 7/10 same score you gave Captain marvel.. can you explain? does having a weak third act (iron man) equals a weak character (Cap marvel)
Exactly why I hate number/point-based rating systems in movie criticism. Nobody cares to explain what the points even actually mean. Just pros and cons with an arbitrary number tacked on at the end. Especially dumb when a movie the critic likes despite flaws gets the same or ludicrously similar score to one they lambasted.
@@MovieGuy666 if that's the case he is not consistent.. he is very critical of the MCU movies giving them very low scores (understandable) but when it comes to Cap Marvel he is very bias (for the lack of better word)
I can't put my finger on why but something about this movie reminds me of pre mcu era super hero movies. Maybe the kree planet just gives me Krypton vibes
You are right to complain about that aspect since they don't explain it, but the explanation I had come to on my own was she was trained to read facial ques since skrulls only have recent memories they would have to lie, but this is a bad explanation since I had to theorize it without much evidence
I kinda agree she needed more characterization the way doctor strange did. Like strange’s thing was that he was a prodigy in almost everything he did in his work but was disconnected with his emotional side. Ironically Captain Marvel is pretty similar. I do think Captain Marvel is going to play off other avengers better like you said and will make her a better character the way the first avengers made tony a way better character
@@paulakroy2635 I just feel like her character journey isn't finished yet. Unlike Thor, who rediscovered his worth and valour, and Tony Stark who grew to become responsible and self-sacrificing, I think Carol Danvers is missing the final piece of the puzzle, she needs to put the past behind her and find out who she wants to be.

Even the other friends like T.I as Dave are funny and work well. I was willing to give him a chance after making those statements but after rating Captain Marvel a 7/10 and ranking it above Aquaman, and Ant Man and the Wasp I really cant take this guy serious as a reviewer or whatever he is. He even said that Alita Battle Angel was a bad movie and rated it 6/10... hahahaha what a joke!
@The Skrilltrap Well apparently he goes well with most peoples taste because the majority of people I know or have talked to loved his character. Michael Pena is also a great actor as well as being fuckin hilarious.
@@Toasty_-jx6zk Well, it's just that he put Captain America: The First Avenger above Doctor Strange. Which is... upside down in the dimension I'm from.
Same. I don't think it's fair to dismiss critics saying "you just don't like it because it's different". And I didn't even know the Mandarin before watching the movie. I disliked it because a villain that could have been really interesting and threatening was reduced to a comic relief character. A one-off joke that nobody could have seen coming. Ok. But the price for that joke was pretty steep, I think.
when I saw the scene where he said he was just an actor, I thought he was just tricking Tony and was gonna have some sort of trap set up for him, but nooope it was just the 3rd time the iron man villain was just another dude who wants his company to rule the world and hates Tony Stark
There's a difference between not liking something that's different and not liking something that's bad. Plus, the Extremis storyline was also a letdown, the comics had a better version, it upgraded Stark but also showed his vulnerability
There's a lot to be gained by just not watching trailers or adverts for things you're gonna watch anyway. Seriously, if you haven't been doing that you should try it, it makes movies much more enjoyable from my experience. Granted, I suppose if you go to the theaters a bunch, it's probably not as easy, but the point still stands.
I fully agree that this movie was way better than people give it credit for. Everyone got so in that "OMG WOKE DIVERSITY AHHHHH" mindset that everyone shit on the movie without even seeing it. The casting for Carol was bad. Period. The rest of the movie is pretty great and my partner and I(both women) actually really enjoyed the movie despite Carol being fairly bland.
I agree with you on most of your points. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the movie, since origin stories in the MCU are usually not that great, but I do think Brie will get much better at being Carol and they'll develop her character a lot more in the future.
@@mariobadia4553 seems like you're trying hard to make a point to hate Aquaman but coming up with just as retarded logic you're accusing it of having. Sure Aquaman had some cheesy dialogues and not a originial plot (except well, it's own, being the Throne of Atlantis comics). Most of the actions of the characters are far from dumb if you actually saw the movie. The only thing Captain Marvel legit have over Aquaman is Nick Fury. MC-wise Arthur had a far better character progression than Carol did.
He's admitted himself that he's probably just being a Marvel Shill or something along those lines. Its not better than Aquaman, but I also think the MCU is like apple where they often times get a free pass for stuff because of how groundbreaking the idea of a cinematic universe is and that they managed to pull it off.
I really loved Captain Marvel and Brie Larson gave a great performance in the movie! Also Ant Man and the Wasp is not a bad movie! Why is everybody giving that movie bad reviews?!
This review is much more charitable than the movie deserves... The character feels halfbaked, and her character arc is poorly thought out at best... how did she grow as a character? She didnt learn to be worthy of her powers like spiderman. she didnt learn responsibility or humility like thor or ironman. The arc of CM is realizing she doesnt need the kree to be really strong. That's it. That's the entirety of character growth this movie managed to wrangle for the Avenger's hidden trump card. She punches lasers very well without following orders from a cyberhitler. Everything else is her going on a slow tour through her own exposition. And even then the lesson is a tired old "never give up". the kree skrull twist is incredibly cliched and hammy, and is not even a surprise since anyone that watched guardians of the galaxy (so everyone) knows ronan's a bad dude, so you just naturally assume the kree are baddies for being with him as soon as he makes an appearance. Her power level makes no sense. she goes from lasering someone into a wall in a fistfight, stunning him, to lasering herself through a whole space fleet. Why the hell would she need to physically fight if she can laser a space-dreadnought into dust? Because the script says so. As a result the big flashy climax had absolutely no weight to it because while she godmode-wallhacks through a whole fleet of baddies, you're just thinking "wait, she could do this the whole time??" Oh and we didn't even talk about goddam Goose-Furie thing. 2 decades of teasing and building up of this epic mastermind. Wasted on a gotcha. I know it seems trivial in the scope of things but in a way the biggest crime this movie commits is make you feel silly for expecting a meaningful Nick Furie character moment. Fuckin slap in the face, that.
I agree with most of this but there is an oversight, while she was still with the kree she has essentially handicapped in her power by the thing on her neck. And an important part is when she pulls it off after she bests the supreme intelligence. There are just some things people forget or miss because they think they don't matter story wise, but they do in the end.
Nick Fury lies to motivate people and accomplish his end goals, I think that was kind of the point. The direction they went with Capt. Marvel is bad. Scarrlet Witch is a SUPER powerful character BUT was introduced as a side character not aware of how powerful she is. She destroyed an INFINITY stone. Think about what that means, her power is greater than infinity. Yet the audience or characters don't realize this. Compare her strength from Age of Ultron to now. Seems the MCU is headed towards the cosmic beings. That is where characters like Capt. Marvel and Scarrlet Witch will shine. When you watch Endgame you will appreciate how Capt. Marvel is handled. It's a night and day difference compared to her stand alone movie. She's just too strong to really experience defeat in "Captain Marvel". Try to give it a film or two. Look at Thor for example he had to loose his powers and hammer twice before we got a decent version of Thor. Helped they changed his character to be more of a goofball, super powerful, confident character than what he was. Remember Capt. Marvel was trained to be an emionless warrior they will have her grow. Her movie was just a quick, super sloppy introduction not to take away from Endgame right around the corner.
@@PSNBrownEye1129 endgame only cemented the mistake, though. Cpt Marvel had absolutely no presence in the story. She's used twice, once to bring back stark, and once to bring down thanos' ship. That's her impact on the story. Now, do we really HAVE to have a new character, with a dedicated film, just to solve these 2 minor plot points? Cpt Marvel is an unnecessary addition, and she feels just so, completely tacked on. And as for power level, i dont think it turned out to be very relevant, but i definitely feel the character is so flat and undeveloped they had to find excuses to keep her off the screen.
I agree she wasn't needed in Endgame at all. Certainly tacked on but not for the reasons you mentioned. They just wanted to introduce her and show that she was there for what's coming after. That way in future films she has some sort of base to work with. Sort of like how Ironman was the keystone up until Endgame. Endgame is it for a number of people. Think of it the same way a sports team drafts a player to develope. Like it or not Capt. Marvel is going to be the driver they use for the next story. They just wanted to get her an appearance so the change is more fluid. I agree that the execution was horrible but after Infinity Wars & Endgame I'll give Marvel the benefit. Look at how The Hulk and Thor have changed. Hulk got a new acter and Thor's personality is completely different from his early movies. Thor's first two movies and Hulk's film I would say suffered with the same sort of character flaws, no growth, bad personalities, ect. I honestly don't think Capt. Marvels role was very big in Endgame from the start. Really believe Marvel wanted to keep the focus on the Orginal Avengers, it's their story after all. The Guardians are well liked and excellent characters but they were limited in the fight. They aren't powerful but they are more capable than what they contributed. That's why I say judge Capt. Marvels in the films following Endgame when she can be focused and not sandwiched between the two biggest blockbusters ever.
@@MrFath-gg8oj you would watch one of the worst superhero films ever made over CM? yea, ok there buddy. chill on the feminist hating and why dont you look at these movies objectively

Not going to lie, I was extremely surprised to actually like this movie! I fully expected it to be bad but it really wasn't! The premise alone was extremely intriguing and the conflict between the Skrall and Kree was very interesting and served as an excellent focus for the film. The plot twist also complemented this conflict and, dare I say it, made the movie even better. The twist further complemented Captain Marvel's struggle of not understanding her past. It really put everything in perspective and invited you to think about your own perspective. The acting was great for the most part too! The obvious highlights were Nick Fury and the Skrall, I enjoyed every second they were on screen especially the Skrall, he was just so chill. I can definitely see some problems with Brie Larson's performance but I didn't think it was that bad. And she was the best when she was joking around with Nick Fury! When she was laughing and happy she became a much more enjoyable character, I really loved seeing her interactions with Fury and her best friend's kid! I hope they lean in to this jovial attuned more like what they did with Thor in the later Marvel movies. The editing and special effects were a bit weird at times but not abysmal. It can be slightly heavy handed with some of it's political messages but I honestly barely noticed them. I can think of 2 or 3 lines that were a bit too heavy handed but most were very subtle and chill. This is not feel like an "angry feminist movie" if that's what you were wondering. Again, the strengths of this film are the plot, premise, conflict, and side characters. The film also made very proud to be a human. In a crazy movies full of aliens and superpowers the best senses were of Captain Marvel learning about her native planet and being the human she never knew she was. This is again supported by the parts where she is joking around with Fury. That humor makes her more human. Overall, the negatives do not outweigh the positives and I came aways very much enjoying this film! It might not be for everyone but I highly recommend everyone just go watch it and put your bias to the side. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you do and at least give it a chance! :-)
Semi spoilers, you've been warned: Same, I really don't get why people hated this movie so much, at worse it's an average marvel movie that never really gets anything absolutely wrong. @Nathan she only recently gained depth. The other versions of captain marvel (other people that took up the title) are generally better.

It would have been much better with your idea, but the movie is to light for it.
Максим Цыба it would’ve worked fine though and implemented fine.

Nah, I like Doctor Strange and Antman more. Imo, it's more interesting and entertaining. In this movie, I felt bored.
It'll be useless if it feels like they need to produce a movie for the sake of pandering it to the mass.

Comics are just weird so don't think to much of it
It was kinda the point that we didn't know who Jude Law was playing for most of the film, Yon-Rogg is one of Captain Marvel's main villains and pulling the same twist of the comic book villains actually being the good guys that many times would have been bad, it's likely that Howard Stark and Mar-Vell may have known each other, especially as Tony Stark referenced Project Pegasus in Iron Man 2 (might have been in a deleted scene, but I can't remember for certain), Fury was a lower level agent in this film, retcons are likely when the series has been going for this long though I can't remember the scene you're referring to, so I can't really comment there, that last bit is more down to personal preference.
C'mon Marcus we both know captain marvel isn't better than doctor strange
It's called an opinion.
@The Program What, the ones you don't agree with? Accept that the world doesn't revolve around your point of view and move along.
It's way better. Doctor Strange is pretty good, but Captain Marvel is one tier above that movie for me. Not like Infinity War or Ragnarok tier though.
Wilo Polis captain marvel sucks ass there is no climax because captain marvel literally has no negatives, she's boring to watch, doctor strange at least has a personality as a character, but the movie is pretty good at best while captain marvel is really just awful.
Doctor Strange was certainly a more rounded movie. And for the record, it's my *opinion* that Evelina is stupid.
Antman is fantastic. The side characters make those movies, and they’re an absolute breath of fresh air. They break from form, there are no egregious mistakes, and they’re funny from start to finish.

---
With Captain Marvel, she easily wipes the floor with every obstacle in her path. Yes, she does struggle with her past memories occasionally, but she overcomes it fairly quickly upon realizing the whole truth and realizing that she is ‘awesome.’
In terms of physical threats, she NEVER is threatened. Yes, she is captured occasionally and the supreme intelligence poses a challenge for 3 minutes. Yet, aside from those moments she easily destroys everything in her way, including the latter threats.
She never has to challenge herself to overcome her obstacles. It’s as simple for her as shooting something with a laser and thinking, “Yeah I’m AWWWESOME!!!”
---
Wonder Woman had to challenger her entire view on the world itself in her journey, and had to fight a physical manifestation of that in the form of the war god Aries.
Captain Marvel had to shoot some lasers and say to herself, “I’m such a b🅰️d🅰️$$ 😎”
Sir Nesbit legion is a great example of a well made op character
nailed it with this comparison dude

Both go through no character development, and seem to be people whose only way to show emotion is to scream
Both are driven by their pasts with frequent flashbacks.
The impression I got from Carol was that she's aloof at first and more playful as she opens up. She doesn't joke with anyone she doesn't connect with like Gemma Chan's character, but with Fury, she does.
(SPOILERS)
You really see it when she finds out the truth. She starts warming up to the people from earth and emotionally distancing herself from her Cree mentor.
Not really a spoiler and its spelled Kree*
I agree. It's almost like a person can have different emotions and levels of comfort in situations.
Kree* and in all fairness , Gemma Chan’s character said she didn’t like Carol anyway so
I mean ... she is suposed to be aloof and void of emotions.
It felt like a Phase 1 movie. It was good, but we've since had better and now have a higher standard.

Captain Marvel wasn't a bad movie at all, its just that we've seen better movies.

I just wished they flesh out her character more in the future films.
My issue with the 90's things was mostly that they didn't do anything to service the story.

People have opinions. Sometimes these opinions are different from your own. Try not to get the vapors.
Harvey Holmes it would be more confusing, especially for casual viewers of Marvel movies, as the Kree were the bad guys in GOTG
Ethan Longenbaugh see I saw GOTG when it came out in cinemas but it’s been like 5 years so I completely forgot they were bad guys. That’s a bit mental so if you’ve seen GOTG (and remember the specifics) you get Captain Marvels twist spoiled for you

The engine can do lightspeed stuff, the explosion ought to at least vaporize everything in a radius of a few hundred meters

As a result the big flashy climax had absolutely no weight to it because while she godmode-wallhacks through a whole fleet of baddies, you're just thinking "wait, she could do this the whole time??"
Oh and we didn't even talk about goddam Goose-Furie thing.
@@PSNBrownEye1129 yea but scarlet witch is less powerful than in comics and has a story role and emotions soooo
I agree with everything you said about Captain Marvel's problems, but I would still watch Antman and the Wasp over this film.
I would watch Batman V Superman over this film.
Ant man and the wasp was boring and Antman is my favourite character ☹️
@@MrFath-gg8oj you would watch one of the worst superhero films ever made over CM? yea, ok there buddy. chill on the feminist hating and why dont you look at these movies objectively
@@rajend8 i dont recall saying anything bashing anyone or anything. The trailer looked like trash, Im not a fan of her, im not happy with the direction they went with the Skrulls, and yes...overall I would MUCH rather watch Batman V Superman again.
dustin pruett wholeheartedly agree. I would probably watch both of the hulk movies before seeing captain marvel a second time
Not going to lie, I was extremely surprised to actually like this movie!
Hello there!
You're only able to say all these things because you hold the high ground.
Semi spoilers, you've been warned:
Same, I really don't get why people hated this movie so much, at worse it's an average marvel movie that never really gets anything absolutely wrong.
The best reason i can explain why I like this movie is the scene when Captain Marvel really figures out her powers after her second conversation with the supreme intelligence, it's just a fun scene where you can actually see her figuring out all her powers and experimenting
The retcon kinda ruined it for me. Introducing her this late feels like an afterthought decision.
You are a beta male you dont count plus you are dead
“I liked about 80% of it”
*Gives it an 8/10*
He's consistent, give him that lol
He gave it a 7.
