- Very rusty rare German bayonet restoration.
A rare ersatz bayonet was found in a forest on a World War I battlefield on the Eastern Front. The bayonet is very rusty and I decided to restore it. Removed all the rust and preserved the bayonet. I hope you liked my restoration.
I like to restore knives and bayonets.

I would class that as a preservation as opposed to a restoration. Never the less, good job
Very emotional to see this weapon in real life. My great-grandfather fought all four years of WWI, and I’m not old (under 30). I didn’t know him, but apparently he was a gentle man who was traumatized by the war (lost his hearing and was a functional alcoholic). He did mention having to kill a German soldier in hand-to-hand combat with a (French) bayonet, as a particularly harrowing memory. He rarely spoke about the war and always cried when he did. (As an aside, he was disgusted by the attempts to whitewash the butchery and political greed of WWI into some kind of patriotic memory. Like several of his fellow veterans at the time, he actually threw his combat medal in the garbage and never participated in parades or celebrations about it.)

Порадьте будь ласка, якщо чистити від ржавчини тонкий метал такий як магазин від Вальтер Гевера, використовувати електроліз чи оцет ?
Лимонная кислота разъедает только ржавчину целый металл не повреждает потом хорошо промыть моющим средством
На "віоліті" гевера купили?
можна і електролізом і оцтом. головне котролювати процес

I do believe that in this case some Muriatic acid followed by grit blasting would give better results...
Я так понял, что в конце был жетон немецкого солдата. Курт ... фамилию не понял. Настоящий ? Где-то читал, что немцы очень бывают благодарны, если находится жетон своего родственника, ну просто очень-очень благодарны. С современными технологиями родственников найти нетрудно.
Это не реставрация, а чистка. При реставрации происходит, в данном случае, восстановление клинка и рукояти ( ликвидация крупных раковин и сколов, как минимум).
Якось чистив німецький шолом.... махався з тими дротяними щітками довго...а потім відніс на піскоструй і все збили до чистого металу. ПОВНІСТЮ! За 10хв. Але тоді відео буде нецікаве - коротке )))
перед піскоструєм всеодно потрібно іржу розрихлити
@@ReXtorer та збиває все, повірте. Там байдуже що на шляху. Метал був настільки чистий, що за 2 години появились коричневі плями іржі ))) треба сходу консервувати або малювати.
